경로당 이용 여성노인의 건강생활에 관한 문화기술지 (An Ethnography on the Healthy Life of the Aged Women Participating the Senior Centers)

  • Purpose: This ethnography was performed to explore patterns and meanings of healthy life among aged women using senior centers. Methods: The informants were 21 individuals aged 65 years and older at 2 community-based senior centers. Data were collected from iterative fieldwork through in-depth interviews and participant observations and analyzed using text analysis and taxonomic methods developed by Spradley. Field notes were used with follow-up interviews and dialogue between authors to enhance interpretation. Results: Patterns of healthy life among aged women using senior centers were categorized by age groups within the context of the four cultural elements of taking care of the body, relationality, temporality, and spatiality: active and passive control, maintenance of interdependence and individuality, expansion and maintenance of the daily routine, unity of peer relations and sustenance of family relations, spending time productively and tediously, and complementary and alternative space of the family relations. Conclusion: The informants in this study demonstrated healthy life by maintaining and strengthening continuous relationships developed in the senior centers without being isolated from the family and society. Patterns of their healthy life differed across age groups within the socio-cultural context. Therefore, interventions should be tailored to address age groups and community needs.

  • The purpose of this research was to find out attitudes toward to work and leisure in later life and intention to move to senior community available to work among 50's in Pusan, Daegu, and Daejeon. The survey had been completed in 414 respondents with questionnaire during May to June, 2003. The respondents had somewhat active attitudes toward to work and leisure in later life. Over two thirds preferred to live and work in later together with others rather than individually and nearly half had intention to move to the senior community where work was available to. The attitudes toward to work and leisure and intention to move were differed by individual characteristics and the intention to move was differed by attitudes to work and leisure in later life.

Research in Clothes Behavior by Lifestyles of Senior Consumers

  • The goal of this study is to define the types of the lifestyles of senior consumers and identify the differences in the properties of apparel products and the apparel attitudes. To collect the data for this study, questionnaires for the research were distributed from November 20, 2006 to December 15, 2006 to those over 50 living in Seoul, Pusanand Kyunggi and 302 questionnaires were used for the data analysis. The results of the study are as follows. First, six factors were extracted which were "Pursuit of Self-development", "Pursuit of Active Life", "Pursuit of Material", "Pursuit of Diversity", "Pursuit of Family-oriented" and "Pursuit of Recreational Life" after factor analysis of lifestyles recognized by the senior consumers that participated in this study. Second, the lifestyles of the senior consumers were categorized into "Consumption-oriented Type", "Personal Satisfaction-oriented Type", "Family Weighted Type" and "Recreation-oriented Type." Third, three factors were extracted which were "Symbolical Property", "Functional Property" and "Customer Support Property" after conducting the factor analysis on the properties of apparel products. Fourth, significant differences were shown in apparel properties by the lifestyle types of senior consumers in the symbolical property and the customer support property. The "symbolical property" was shown highest in "recreation-oriented type" and lowest in the "family weighted type." The customer support property was shown highest in the "family weighted type" and lowest in the "recreation-oriented type", showing the opposite result. Fifth, significant differences were shown in apparel attitudes by the lifestyle types of senior consumers in "Fashion Innovativeness", "Apparel Involvement" and "Apparel Necessity." The "fashion innovativeness" was shown highest in the "recreation-oriented type" and lowest in the "family weighted type." The apparel involvement and the necessity for apparel for senior citizens was shown high in the "recreation-oriented type" and this showed that the senior consumers valuing recreation also value fashion, have high apparel involvement and feel the necessity for apparel for senior citizens.

노인의 라이프스타일 유형에 따른 노인복지관에 대한 만족도 연구 (A Study on the Satisfaction of Senior Welfare Centers by Senior's Lifestyle)

  • 지속적인 노인인구의 증가와 고령화가 급속하게 진행되면서 지역 내 노인복지관은 지역주민의 다양한 욕구를 충족시키는 대표적인 서비스 공간으로 그 중요성이 높아지고 있다. 또한, 과거세대에 비해 높은 학력수준, 경제능력의 향상, 가치관과 라이프스타일이 변화됨에 따라 이전 세대와는 다르게 양질의 서비스를 추구하는 성향이 나타나고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 노인 연륜적 특성 지표인 라이프스타일 측정도구를 사용하여 노인의 라이프스타일 유형에 따른 노인복지관의 만족도를 분석하였다. 본 연구는 서울에 위치한 7곳의 노인복지관 이용자를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 조사결과 첫째, 군집분석을 통해 라이프스타일 유형을 독립활동형, 보호활동형, 적극도전형, 소극도전형으로 분류하였다. 둘째, 노인의 라이프스타일에 따른 노인복지관의 전반적인 만족도는 보호활동형이 가장 높게 나타났으며 그 다음으로는 소극도전형, 적극도전형, 독립활동형의 순으로 나타났다. 셋째, 노인의 라이프스타일 유형별로 노인복지관의 공간특성이 만족도에 미치는 영향을 살펴본 결과 독립활동형과 소극도전형은 친밀성, 보호활동형은 쾌적성, 적극도전형은 편의성이 가장 영향력이 큰 것으로 조사되었다.

노인의 삶의 질 향상을 위한 노인일자리사업 참여의사에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구 (Policy Suggestions for Senior Employment Promotion Programs for Improving Life Quality for the Elderly)

  • This study is aimed to discover the deciding factors in senior employment programs for improving the quality of life for the elderly. The dependent variable used in this study was the quality of elderly persons. Personal and familial characteristics, and the community involvement of the elderly were used as independent variables in a Multiple Regression analysis. First, the most influential factor encouraging the elderly to participate in a senior employment promotion program was previous experience of senior employment programs. Second, health condition, residence in city areas, experience of volunteer work, and knowledge of senior employment programs had positive effects on the continuous participation of the elderly men and women. However, living arrangements had an effect solely on elderly men, and home ownership and participation in economic activities had effects solely on elderly women. Third, the life quality of the elderly was affected differently by sex. Health condition had the greatest effect on male elderly persons, whereas, the effective variable, the composition of the family had the most effect on female elderly persons. Thus, active campaigns through various mass media and information sessions are needed to promote participation in senior employment programs, according to the above mentioned deciding factors. In particular infrastructure providing the elderly with more volunteer work opportunity needs to be built for baby boomers to improve their quality of life. In addition, diversified senior employment programs are needed. Because the elderly living in city areas are more willing to participate in senior employment programs, specialized programs suitable for the elderly in city areas are needed. The government should also prepare programs that help the elderly stay healthy while they are working.

The Effects of Elderly(Senior) Buying Factors and Satisfaction on Retailer's Online Shopping

  • Purpose - This study investigates shopping behaviors and effects focusing on the seniors in 50s and 60s based on their buying satisfaction in online shopping. The study investigated causal relation between effects having influence upon online shopping behavior to give theoretical base on the use of online shopping. The study gave implications of consumption attitude of silver generation as well as senior consumers in aging society. Research design, data, and methodology - The subject was senior consumers who have experienced online shopping to be sensitive to the fashion and to have active and reasonable consumption pattern and to be active and to have positive value. Results - This study investigated the mediating effect on purchase satisfaction of the 50s and the 60s upon online shopping to examine online shopping use and effects. The subject was the ones in their 50s and 60s in Gyeonggi and Chungnam who had experienced online shopping. All of hypotheses of models at PLS analysis were supported. Conclusions - Both information innovation and self-satisfaction showed positive influence upon the ease of and also access of the use. In addition, the access to the use had positive influence upon the purchase intention in retailers' online shopping.

서울·경인지역 노인자원봉사 활성화 방안 연구 - 장애요인 및 실천적 대안을 중심으로 - (Fieldworkers' Perceptions of the Policies and the Strategies for Promoting Elderly Volunteering Actions and the Exploring Alternatives in the Volunteering Work: Focused on Elderly-barrier and Practical Suggestions)

  • 기존의 노인 자원봉사 활성화 방안들의 구상은 역할관점에 기반 한 활동이론(active theory)을 적용하여 '선배 시민(Senior Citizen)'으로서 노인이 자원봉사활동을 통해 지역사회공동체에 건강성을 부여하는데 있다. 또한 시민성 개발을 위한 평생교육/학습모델을 전제로 노인 자원봉사자 및 활동영역을 확대하고자 한다. 이에, 본 연구에서는 노인 자원봉사 활성화를 위해 제시된 제도 방안들을 자원봉사 실천현장의 실무자들이 이를 어떻게 인식하고 적용하고 있는지를 파악하고, 이들이 당면하고 있는 장애요인들과 실천대안들을 면밀히 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여, 서울과 수도권 지역의 노인복지관 및 자원봉사센터 12개 기관의 실무자와 심층면접을 진행하였다. '직접적 내용분석'을 활용하여, 활성화 방안의 주제 범주로 12개를 도출하여 실무자들의 인식을 노인 자원봉사 활성화 주제범주별로 분석하였다. 본 연구 결과로, 노인 자원봉사 정책방안과 실천 현안에 대한 현장 실무자들의 경험과 인식을 통해 재점검하였으며, 향후 노인 자원봉사 활성화를 위한 장애요인과 실천적 대안들을 실무자들의 견지에서 제시하였다.

머신러닝의 로지스틱 회귀를 활용한 MZ세대와 시니어 세대의 기부의도 분석 (Analysis of Donation Intention of MZ Generation and Senior Generation Using Machine Learning's logistic Regression)

  • This study aims to find ways to increase the declining donation intention by using machine learning techniques. To this end, in order to predict factors that affect donations between the MZ generation and the senior generation, various machine learning algorithms, including logistic regression analysis, are applied to build a model to determine variables that affect donation intention, and provide statistical verification and evaluation indicators. In this study, differences in donation intention by generation were expected as a variable affecting donation intention, and the senior generation was expected to show a higher donation intention tendency than the younger generation. However, although the research results were not statistically significant, the younger generation showed a higher intention to donate, and these results are interpreted to mean that value consumption and ethical consumption, which are important to today's MZ generation, also influenced donations. However, there were differences between generations in the amount of donations, and higher donation amounts were confirmed among the senior generation (those in their 50s or older) than the younger generation. In addition, the results of the logistic regression analysis showed that previous donation experience had a positive effect on future donation intention, and the more motivation and importance of donation and various social participation activities online and offline, the more active one became in donating.

기계 학습 방법을 이용한 활동 프로파일 기반의 스마트 시니어 분류 모델 개발 (Development of Smart Senior Classification Model based on Activity Profile Using Machine Learning Method)

  • 최근 스마트폰의 보급 및 웹 서비스의 도입으로 온라인 사용자들은 대규모의 콘텐츠를 시간과 장소에 관계없이 접할 수 있게 되었다. 그러나 사용자들은 대규모의 콘텐츠 사이에서 원하는 콘텐츠를 찾는 데 어려움을 겪게 되었다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 다양한 분야에서 사용자 모델링 및 추천 시스템에 대한 연구가 활발하게 수행되었다. 그러나 정보 환경의 변화에 따른 시니어 계층의 적극적인 변화에도 불구하고 시니어 계층에 초점을 맞춘 사용자 모델링 및 추천 시스템에 대한 연구는 매우 부족한 실정이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 기계 학습 방법을 기반으로 스마트 시니어 계층의 선호도를 파악할 수 있는 모델링 방법을 제안하고, 스마트 시니어 분류 모델을 개발한다. 이 결과, 스마트 시니어 계층의 선호도를 파악할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 스마트 시니어 분류 모델 개발을 통해 시니어 사용자에게 가장 적합한 활동 및 콘텐츠를 제공하는 콘텐츠 추천 연구에 대한 발판을 마련하였다.

전주시 단독주택 지역에 위치한 경로당의 실내 환경의 특성과 이용자 만족도에 대한 분석 (Analysis on Characteristics of Indoor Environment and Satisfaction Level ofUsers of Senior Centers in Jeonju Residential Areas)

  • The purpose of this paper is to gather information and opinions to better guide the direction for implementing improvements of the senior centers' indoor environments located in Jeonju residential areas, by surveying the users about the level of satisfaction and analyzing the result in relation to the current situation. Senior centers located in Jeonju residential areas were operating the facilities with low financial support from the local autonomous entity. According to the results of the survey, most of the users tend to use the facilities between 12p.m. to 6p.m., and the majority have lunch at the senior centers. Most of the senior centers already have cooking facilities, without a dining room, except one place, and even the facilities they have are very poor. In a thermal environment area, the temperature is mostly above in summer or below in winter the appropriate temperature, especially the temperature of the restroom of all senior centers are below $20^{\circ}C$ in winter. The density of carbon dioxide is above average in most indoor areas. However, the users' level of facilities' satisfaction was positive. To improve the seniors' quality of life, the local autonomous entity has to start regular check-ups and repair of the poor indoor environment and facilities, with more financial support and active supervision by senior center the management.
