In the AGV routing a vehicle can select the shortest route on which no conflicts are anticipated. The procedure includes time constraint and the node/arc occupation times of vehicles in order to locate the conflicting paths. The slight differences among AGV routing algorithms exist in identifying the conflict regions encountered while reaching out to the destination node. In this paper, a novel approach to the use of the re-routing scheme is presented. It will be used to minimize the travel distance of vehicles in a regular vehicle routing process rather than to cope with emergency situations. The proposed algorithm provides existing active vehicles with the ability of changing their current paths for a new vehicle whenever the equal-distance paths exist, in on attempt to optimize the AGV transportation system. This ability is possible because of the flexibility of on AGV system controlled by a computer system.
UGVs(Unmanned Ground Vehicles) are robots that can substitute humans in reconnaissance operations of potentially dangerous and contaminated sites. Currently, there have been active research on utilizing UGVs in military environments. Much resrach has been focused on exploiting the weakness of topology-based routing and instead utilize location-based routing for the networking of UGVs. It is generally assumed that location-based routing methods can fully utilize the location information gained from GPS. However, this may not be possible in tactical environments due to enemy GPS jamming and LOS(Line of Sight) limitations. To solve this problem, we propose a location-based routing scheme utilizing low control message that can calibrate the location information using GPS information as well as location of neighboring UGV, movement direct and speed information. Also utilizing topology-based routing scheme to solve incorrect location information in GPS jamming region.
2단계로 시간제한을 가지는 최적차량경로를 찾을 수 있는 개선된 유전자 알고리즘을 이용하여 GA-TSP(Genetic Algorithm-Traveling Salesman Problem)모델을 개발하였다.
Recently, there have been active research efforts on devising efficient routing algorithms utilizing location information in ad-hoc mobile networks. In this paper, we propose a new method to improve the performance of the widely recognized Location Aided Routing (LAR) algorithm. To this end, we suggest the concept of accessible zone combined with the basic two schemes associated with LAR algorithm. Through the proposed algorithm, we can confine the flooding area within accessible zone, thereby reducing the routing delay.
On-demand routing protocol in ad hoc network is that establishes a route to a destination node only when it is required by a source node. But, it is necessary to reestablish a new route when an active route breaks down. The reconstruction process establishes another route by flooding messages from the source to the destination, cause not only heavy traffic but also long delays in route discovery. A good method for analyzing performance of protocols is important for deriving better systems. In this paper, we suggest the numerical formulas of a representative on-demand routing protocol AODV, ARMP, and RRAODV to estimate the performance of these routing protocols for analyzing the performance of these protocols. The proposed analytical models are very simple and straightforward. The results of analysis show good agreement with the results of computer simulations.
Untethered nodes in mobile ad-hoc networks strongly depend on the efficient use of their batteries. In this paper, we propose a new metric, the drain rate, to forecast the lifetime of nodes according to current traffic conditions. This metric is combined with the value of the remaining battery capacity to determine which nodes can be part of an active route. We describe new route selection mechanisms for MANET routing protocols, which we call the Minimum Drain Rate (MDR) and the Conditional Minimum Drain Rate (CMDR). MDR extends nodal battery life and the duration of paths, while CMDR also minimizes the total transmission power consumed per packet. Using the ns-2 simulator and the dynamic source routing (DSR) protocol, we compare MDR and CMDR against prior proposals for power-aware routing and show that using the drain rate for power-aware route selection offers superior performance results.
Mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) refers to a network designed for special applications for which it is difficult to use a backbone network. In MANETs, applications are mostly involved with sensitive and secret information. Since MANET assumes a trusted environment for routing, security is a major issue. In this paper we analyze the vulnerabilities of a pro-active routing protocol called optimized link state routing (OLSR) against a specific type of denial-of-service (DOS) attack called node isolation attack. Analyzing the attack, we propose a mechanism called enhanced OLSR (EOLSR) protocol which is a trust based technique to secure the OLSR nodes against the attack. Our technique is capable of finding whether a node is advertising correct topology information or not by verifying its Hello packets, thus detecting node isolation attacks. The experiment results show that our protocol is able to achieve routing security with 45% increase in packet delivery ratio and 44% reduction in packet loss rate when compared to standard OLSR under node isolation attack. Our technique is light weight because it doesn't involve high computational complexity for securing the network.
