  • This paper described a dc power system, which can generate the excessive do power form do bus line to ac source in substation for traction system. The proposed regeneration inverter system for dc traction can be used as both an inverter and an active power filter(APF). As a regeneration inverter mode, it can recycle regenerative energy caused by decelerating tractions and as an active power filter mode, it can compensate for harmonic distortion produced by the rectifier substation.

  • Wind power plant is based on the wind energy so the active power is frequently changed and connected to grid according with wind condition. These characteristics are bed effect to distribution line. On this reserch, we want to analyze the quality of electric power synchro/asynchronous generation system in Dae Kwan Ryung wind farm. The contents of analysis are active/reactive power variation and total demand distortion and transiency and sag/swell phenomena. we hope this research can contribute to the power quality improvement.

베이즈 규칙을 활용한 배전선로 위험도 평가모델 -가공배전분야- (A Risk Evaluation Model of Power Distribution Line Using Bayesian Rule -Overhead Distribution System-)

  • After introducing diagnosis equipment power failure prevention activities for distribution system have become more active. To do facility diagnosis and maintenance work more efficiently we need to evaluate reliability for the system and should determine the priority line with appropriate criteria. Thus, to calculate risk factor for the power distribution line that are composed of many component facilities its historical failure events for the last 5 years are collected and analysed. The failure statics show that more than 60% of various failures are related to environment factors randomly and about 20% of the failures are refer to the aging. As a strategic evaluation system reflecting these environmental influence is needed, a system on the basis of the probabilistic approach related statical variables in terms of failure rate and failure probability of electrical components is proposed. The figures for the evaluation are derived from the field failure DB. With adopting Bayesian rule we can calculate easily about conditional probability query. The proposed evaluation system is demonstrated with model system and the calculated indices representing the properties of the model line are discussed.

  • Interest in the future of the battery market is growing as Tesla announces plans to increase production of electric vehicles and to produce batteries. Tesla announced an action plan to reduce battery prices by 56% through 'Battery Day', which included expansion of factories to internalize batteries and improvement of materials and production technology. In the trend of automobile electrification, the expansion of the battery market, which accounts for 40% of the cost of electric vehicles, is inevitable, and the size of the electric vehicle battery market in 2026 is expected to increase more than five times compared to 2016. With the development of materials and process technology, the energy density of electric vehicle batteries is increasing while the price is decreasing. Soon, electric vehicles and internal combustion locomotives are expected to compete on the same line. Recently, the mileage of electric vehicles is approaching that of an internal combustion locomotive due to the installation of high-capacity batteries. In the EV battery market, Korean, Chinese and Japanese companies are fiercely competing. Based on market share in the first half of 2020, LG Chem, CATL, and Panasonic are leading the EV battery supply, and the top 10 companies included 3 Korean companies, 5 Chinese companies, and 2 Japanese companies. All-solid, lithium-sulfur, sodium-ion, and lithium air batteries are being discussed as the next-generation batteries after lithium-ion, among which all-solid-state batteries are the most active. All-solid-state batteries can dramatically improve stability and charging speed by using a solid electrolyte, and are excellent in terms of technology readiness level (TRL) among various technology alternatives. In order to increase the competitiveness of the battery industry in the future, efforts to increase the productivity and economy of electric vehicle batteries are also required along with the development of next-generation battery technology.

회생전력 기능을 갖는 전기부하시험장치 개발 (Developement of Electrical Load Testing System Implemented with Power Regenerative Function)

  • 본 연구를 통해 개발된 전기부하시험장치는 상용전원이 필요한 피시험장치(변압기, 정류기, 전압조정기, 인버터 등)와 상용전원이 불필요한 독립형 피시험장치(동력발전기, 풍력발전장치, 태양광발전장치, 하이브리드발전 장치, 배터리 등)에 대하여 정격용량시험이나 가변부하시험을 능동적으로 정밀하게 제어하면서도 시험 중에 사용되는 전기에너지를 소비하지 않고 전원변환장치를 통하여 계통선으로 전달하도록 설계되었다. 동기식 pwm 인버터회로를 상용전원과 연결시켜서 시험에 사용되는 전력을 계통선으로 귀환되도록 설계되었으며, 종전의 수동식 전기저항체를 사용한 전기부하시험장치에 비해 93.4% 정도의 전력을 소모하지 않고도 피시험체에 대한 시험이 가능하도록 하였다.

홍성 단층대에서의 전기, 전자 탐사 연구 (Electric and Electromagnetic Surveys of the Hongseong Fault Zone)

  • 1978년에 규모 5.0의 지진이 발생한 홍성지역에 발달한 단층대의 전기, 전자적 특성을 조사하였다. 전기, 전자 탐사는 최근 토목공사현장에서 단층대 및 파쇄대 등의 연약지반을 확인하기 위한 수단으로 널리 쓰이고 있으며 이들 탐사로부터 얻어지는 전기비저항 구조는 연약대의 공간적 분포를 효과적으로 파악할 수 있는 정보를 제공한다. 홍성지역에 위치한 단층대를 가로질러 쌍극자배열 전기비저항탐사와 MT (Magnetotelluric) 탐사를 실시하였으며 역산을 통해 단층대의 전기비저항의 분포를 추정하였다. MT 탐사는 주단층대를 가로지르는 2.9 km의 측선상의 18측점에서 실시하였으며, 자기쌍극자를 인공 송신원으로 사용하였다 전기탐사는 단층대를 측선의 중앙으로 하여 전극간격이 50 m인 쌍극자배열전기비저항 탐사를 실시하였다. 두 탐사 결과는 예상단층선을 따라 좌우지역의 전기비저항이 서로 다른 양상으로 발달하고 있음을 보여주고 있으며, 특히 예상단층선을 따라서는 뚜렷한 저비저항대가 깊게 발달해 있음을 보여주고 있다. 홍성지역의 단층대에서 낮은 전기비저항분포를 보이는 부분이 수직으로 잘 발달해 있다는 것은 최근에 두 차례의 지진이 발생한 것처럼 이 지역 단층이 활동 중인 단층이라는 사실과 일치하는 결과를 보여주는 것이다. 본 연구 성과는 앞으로 홍성단층 뿐만이 아니라 우리나라에서 발생하는 지진들에 대한 연구에 기초 자료를 제공할 것이라 기대된다.

MEAC를 적용한 HVDC Run-up SPS의 안정도향상 효과분석 (MEAC Method for Analysis of Power System Stability Improving Effect Considering Run-up SPS Function of HVDC)

  • In spite of continuous increase of electric power demand and new generation plants, it is very difficult to install new transmission line. Therefore, it comes to be difficult to operate the power system stable, so it is required to find another way to get new transmission capacity. Because HVDC transmission system installation is the one of the best option for us, we have undertake the HVDC project in mainland. Buckdangjin-Goduck HVDC project(500kV, 3GW) is currently under construction and Eastern Power HVDC project(500kV, 8GW) is under the study for technical specification. Both of them have the Run-up SPS function for taking action of 765kV Transmission line fault. The Run-up SPS function increases the active power output of the HVDC rapidly when the transmission line between the power plant and network is tripped, thereby preventing the generator from overspeed and improving the power system stability. In this paper, we propose MEAC(Modified Equal Area Criteria) method based on traditional EAC method to quantitatively evaluate the effect of the HVDC run-up SPS function on the power system stability improvement.

레이더와 비전 센서를 이용하여 선행차량의 횡방향 운동상태를 보정하기 위한 IMM-PDAF 기반 센서융합 기법 연구 (A Study on IMM-PDAF based Sensor Fusion Method for Compensating Lateral Errors of Detected Vehicles Using Radar and Vision Sensors)

  • It is important for advanced active safety systems and autonomous driving cars to get the accurate estimates of the nearby vehicles in order to increase their safety and performance. This paper proposes a sensor fusion method for radar and vision sensors to accurately estimate the state of the preceding vehicles. In particular, we performed a study on compensating for the lateral state error on automotive radar sensors by using a vision sensor. The proposed method is based on the Interactive Multiple Model(IMM) algorithm, which stochastically integrates the multiple Kalman Filters with the multiple models depending on lateral-compensation mode and radar-single sensor mode. In addition, a Probabilistic Data Association Filter(PDAF) is utilized as a data association method to improve the reliability of the estimates under a cluttered radar environment. A two-step correction method is used in the Kalman filter, which efficiently associates both the radar and vision measurements into single state estimates. Finally, the proposed method is validated through off-line simulations using measurements obtained from a field test in an actual road environment.

UPFC Device: Optimal Location and Parameter Setting to Reduce Losses in Electric-Power Systems Using a Genetic-algorithm Method

  • Ensuring the secure operation of power systems has become an important and critical matter during the present time, along with the development of large, complex and load-increasing systems. Security constraints such as the thermal limits of transmission lines and bus-voltage limits must be satisfied under all of a system’s operational conditions. An alternative solution to improve the security of a power system is the employment of Flexible Alternating-Current Transmission Systems (FACTS). FACTS devices can reduce the flows of heavily loaded lines, maintain the bus voltages at desired levels, and improve the stability of a power network. The Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) is a versatile FACTS device that can independently or simultaneously control the active power, the reactive power and the bus voltage; however, to achieve such functionality, it is very important to determine the optimal location of the UPFC device, with the appropriate parameter setting, in the power system. In this paper, a genetic algorithm (GA) method is applied to determine the optimal location of the UPFC device in a network for the enhancement of the power-system loadability and the minimization of the active power loss in the transmission line. To verify our approach, simulations were performed on the IEEE 14 Bus, 30 Bus, and 57 Bus test systems. The proposed work was implemented in the MATLAB platform.

실 계통 연계 1.5MW급 DFIG 풍력발전 시뮬레이터의 응동특성 분석 (Analysis of Dynamic Response of 1.5MW DFIG Wind Power Simulator with Real-grid Connection)

  • The effect of change in DFIG (doubly-fed wind power generator) rotating speed and active power on the grid was analyzed to understand the characteristics of wind power using the wind power simulator connected to the grid at Gochang Power Quality Test Center. Electric power quality improvement devices (DVR, STATCOM, SSTS) and electric power quality disturbance application devices for 22.9 kV grid are equipped at Gochang Power Quality Test Center. Induction motor and VVVF inverter were used to emulate the blade of a wind power generator, and a simulator for Cage wound induction generator and DFIG was developed. The trial line were assumed to be 20 km and 40 km in length, and variable wind speed pattern was set using wind speed data from Ducjeokdo to verify the power characteristics of the wind power generator according to rotating speed.
