능동 보모델을 이용한 영상추적 알고리즘 (Visual Tracking Algorithm Using the Active Bar Models)

  • In this paper, we consider the problems of tracking an object in a real image. In evaluating these problems, we explore a new technique based on an active contour model commonly called a snake model, and propose the active bar models to represent target. Using this model, we simplified the target welection problems, reduced the search space of energy surface, and obtained the better performances than those of snake model. This approach improves the numerical stability and the tendency for points to bunch up and speed up the computational efficiency. Representing the object by active bar, we can easily obtain the zeroth, the first, and the second moment and it facilitates the target tracking. Finally, we present the good result for the visual tracking problem.

  • We performed a research to improve the performance of active bar model which is used in tracking algorithm. Active bar model is a simplified model of snake model. If we used the sctive bar model, the numerical procedure for real time tracking problem can be carried out faster than snake model. However the demerit of active bar algorithms is that we can't used the provious image data because each time it has to reconstruct the active bar. In this paper we proposed advanced algorithm for active bar model. The proposed model can improve tracking abilities by preserving the active bar during the process and changing the energy functional.

  • In this paper, we developed visual tracking algorithm using double active bar. The active bar model to represent the object can reduce the search space of energy surface and better performance than those of snake model. However, the contour will not find global equilibrium when driving force caused by image may be weak. To overcome this problem. Double active bar is proposed for finding the global minimum point without any dependence on initialization. To achieve the goal, an deformable model with two initial contours in attempted to search for a global minimum within two specific initial contours. This approach improve the performance of finding the contour of target. To evaluate the performance, some experiments are executed. We can achieved the good result for tracking a object on noisy image.

Shear strength model for reinforced concrete beam-column joints based on hybrid approach

  • Behavior of RC beam-column joint is very complex as the composite material behaves differently in elastic and inelastic range. The approaches generally used for predicting joint shear strength are either based on theoretical, strut-and-tie or empirical methods. These approaches are incapable of predicting the accurate response of the joint for entire range of loading. In the present study a new generalized RC beam-column joint shear strength model based on hybrid approach i.e. combined strut-and-tie and empirical approach has been proposed. The contribution of governing parameters affecting the joint shear strength under compression has been derived from compressive strut approach whereas; the governing parameters active under tension has been extracted from empirical approach. The proposed model is applicable for various conditions such as, joints reinforced either with or without shear reinforcement, joints with wide beam or wide column, joints with transverse beams and slab, joints reinforced with X-bars, different anchorage of beam bar, and column subjected to various axial loading conditions. The joint shear strength prediction of the proposed model has been compared with 435 experimental results and with eleven popular models from literature. In comparison to other eleven models the prediction of the proposed model is found closest to the experimental results. Moreover, from statistical analysis of the results, the proposed model has the least coefficient of variation. The proposed model is simple in application and can be effectively used by designers.

The Review of Studies on Heat Transfer in Impinging Jet

  • In this paper, recent research trend on heat transfer in impinging jet is reviewed. We focused on submerged jet that air issued into air or liquid issued into liquid. To control and enhance the heat transfer in single jet, researchers have performed a lot of experiments by considering the nozzle geometry, impinging surface and active method such as jet vibration, secondary injection and suction flow. The studies on multiple jet have been mainly focused on finding out the optimum condition and on investigating many different factors concerned with application condition (crossflow, rotation and geometry etc.) and combined techniques (rib turbulator, pin fin, dimple and effusion hole etc.). All most experiments showed the detailed heat transfer data by using liquid crystal method, infrared camera technique and naphthalene sublimation method. Many numerical calculations have been performed to investigate the flow and heat transfer characteristics in laminar jet region. Various turbulence models such as $k-\varepsilon-\bar{\nu^2}$, modified $k-\varepsilon-f_{\mu}$ were applied to the calculation for turbulent jet and the predicted results showed a good agreement with the experimental data. Although a lot of studies on impinging jet have performed consistently up to recently, further studies are still required to understand the flow and heat transfer characteristics more accurately, and to give a guideline for optimum impinging jet design in various applications.

쏘일네일링과 앵커가 결합된 하이브리드 공법의 하중전이 메커니즘 (Load Transfer Mechanism of Hybrid Model of Soil-nailing and Compression Anchor)

  • 본 논문에서는 쏘일네일링 공법, 앵커 공법, 또한 이 두공법의 장점을 결합한 하이브리드 공법의 하중전이 메커니즘에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 하이브리드 공법은 철근과 PC강연선을 보강재로 하며, 프리스트레스를 가함으로써 능동적인 주면마찰력 양상을 유도하고자 한다. 본 논문에서는 주면마찰력 산정 이론과 하중전이 이론을 바탕으로 각 공법의 하중전이 메커니즘을 파악하였다. 또한 현장인발시험을 실시하여 측정된 계측결과의 분석 및 하중전이 이론과의 비교 검토를 통해서 하이브리드 공법의 하중전이 메커니즘을 규명하였다. 쏘일네일링 공법은 인발거동 시 전면에서부터 선단으로 인장력이 전이되는 양상을 보이는 반면, 앵커 공법은 내하체가 위치한 선단에서 프리스트레스를 가함에 따라 선단에서 전면으로 압축력이 전이된다. 이 두 공법을 결합시킨 하이브리드 공법은 프리스트레스를 가할 때에는 앵커공법과 같이 선단에서 압축력이 발생하지만 동시인발 시에는 선단에서는 압축력이 전면에서는 인장력이 발생하게 된다. 따라서 하이브리드 공법의 하중전이 메커니즘은 쏘일네일링의 거동과 앵커의 거동이 모두 나타난다.
