A Study on SFCL Systems for Future Korean T&D Power System Application Considering Auto Reclosing Actions of Protection System (미래 송배전계통에서의 자동재폐로 동작을 고려한 초전도한류시스템에 관한 연구)

  • The recovery time of developing SFCL(Superconducting Fault Current Limiter) has an uncertainty. In general, the recovery time is estimated at 1 sec and more, even though the progress of SFCL technology is considered. However, auto reclosing time of circuit breaker is 0.3 or 0.5 sec in Korean power system. It is impossible to apply only one SFCL to power system because the recovery time is over the reclosing time of protection system. This study proposes two new SFCL systems for power system application. The proposed systems consider auto reclosing action for the protection in practical power system and consist of tow parallel SFCLs.

  • The increased investment in technological innovations makes the investigation of factors affecting technology adoption more interesting. Several perspectives have been proposed to explain the determinants of information technology adoption. While the traditional innovation diffusion research streams try to explain and predict adoption behavior with the adopter's perceptions about the characteristics of the innovation itself, critical mass theorists argue that adoption behavior as a collective action is based on what their business partners are doing and whether there exists enough critical mass to justify the investment. Drawing on theses two perspectives, this study investigates the decision criteria in the adoption of information technology as innovation and factors affecting the decision criteria. The survey results reveal that the adoption behavior is affected both by innovation characteristics and by critical mass's activity. Correlation analysis, t-test, and stepwise regression models also show that as the environmental uncertainty is getting higher, adoption decision is affected more by what others are doing, and that highly competitive organizations seem to play the role of critical mass.

  • Little attention has been focussed on a precise definition and evaluation mechanism for project management risk specifically related to contractors. When bidding, contractors traditionally price risks using unsystematic approaches. The high business failure rate our industry records may indicate that the current unsystematic mechanisms contractors use for building up contingencies may be inadequate. The reluctance of some contractors to include a price for risk in their tenders when bidding for work competitively may also not be a useful approach. Here, instead, we first define the meaning of contractor contingency, and then we develop a facile quantitative technique that contractors can use to estimate a price for project risk. This model will help contractors analyse their exposure to project risks; and also help them express the risk in monetary terms for management action. When bidding for work, they can decide how to allocate contingencies strategically in a way that balances risk and reward.

  • Purpose : In this study, we selected three research subjects to attempt to clear learning motivation of college students is what impact the stress coping style and stress test. First, age, gender, the future career after graduation, the presence or absence of part-time job is, its impact on learning motivation. Second, learning motivation is what effect the stress of the test. Third, based on the motivation of learning, how deal pursuing efforts form the social support, the center of the problem-solving approach, seeking to avoid the reaction to stress how different form. Methods : K University occupational therapy and one, two, three grade 100 students (male 22 people, female 78) to target age, sex, and after graduation, part-time status, motivation, stress, stress coping style questionnaire for distribution and was written. Results : First of all, women's social support form graduation course, more robust than pursue blank after the synchronization uncertainty and stress, and graduated from the trading center and avoid the use of career, more form. Second, motivation and stress test, a difference between the notice could not see. Third, the higher the motivation of learning, problem-solving, Action form to the center to use as many as you, but avoid using too much in the center form is addressed. Conclusion : As a result of the study that came out of the course after graduating from ensure that learning motivation is high, the more the uncertainty, the more to cope with stress in the center of the form to avoid form address was used. Because of this, the student careers after graduation, to make sure that can help you to compare efforts over is believed to be necessary.

  • Stable-state behaviors of asynchronous sequential machines represented as finite state machines can be corrected by feedback control schemes. In this paper, we propose a state feedback control scheme for input/state asynchronous machines with uncertain transitions. The considered asynchronous machine is deterministic, but its state transition function is partially known due to model uncertainty or inner logic errors. The control objective is to compensate the behavior of the closed-loop system so that it matches a sub-behavior of a prescribed model despite uncertain transitions. Furthermore, during the execution of corrective action, the controller reflects the exact knowledge of transitions into the next step, i.e., the range of the behavior of the closed-loop system can be enlarged through learning. The design procedure for the proposed controller is described in a case study.

  • The present study examines the impact of eWOM on consumer decision making process by viewing eWOM as the product information supplier. We employ the concept of information entropy which was proposed in the information theory to explain different consumer responses to various types of product information in eWOM. Information entropy is the degree of uncertainty associated with the information in the message. In eWOM, a variety of information with different levels of entropy is available, and these different entropy levels result in different impacts on consumer behavior. The preliminary hypotheses are formulated to examine the impact of eWOM on consumer behavior, at the product attribute level and the purchase action level separately. An experiment was conducted to online shopping mall users and the analysis gives valuable insights into our future research.

Comparison of Accuracy of Stability Formulas for Breakwater Armor Stones (방파제 피복석 안정 공식의 정밀도 비교)

  • Various empirical formulas have been developed to describe the stability of breakwater armor stones. The Hudson formula is known to have needs to be refined in many ways. but it is most widely used because of its simplicity. The van der Meer formula is sometimes used for the cross-check, but it is not very popularly used due to its complexity and the uncertainty of the relevant parameters. Recently, on the other hand, Yoo(2003) proposed a formula of a simple form using a new non-dimensional number which is called 'action slope' (abbreviated as Yoo formula hereinafter). In this study, in order to provide coastal engineers with some idea of the use of these formulas, their accuracies were estimated by comparing with the experimental data reported by van der Meer in 1987 and 1988. It was found that the van der Meer formula showed the highest accuracy, while the Hudson formula of very low accuracy needed considered judgment on its use. On the other hand, the Yoo formula of slightly lower accuracy but simpler expression than the van der Meer formula seems to be able to be used in engineering practice if a slightly higher safety factor is taken.

  • The exercise of police power for danger prevention gives top priority to the prevention of injury occurrence. However, the controversy over the concept of danger has hitherto focused on the limit establishment, namely which scope is to be a target of prevention in the danger prevention area of the Police Law. After all, the police's duty for maintaining public peace and order is forced to be peformed through individual measures for danger prevention, and the preventive police action, which aims at the prevention of danger against the protection interest in the Police Law, can be performed on the premise of a precise understanding of danger in order to carry out a legitimate preventive police action. In addition, it examines the legal meaning in each constitution element by dividing the minimum common components of danger into loss, sufficient probability and time accessibility, and the interpretation problem of danger as uncertainty concept.

  • A method for estimating the effectiveness of each protective action against a nuclear accident has been proposed using the fuzzy set theory. In most of the existing countermeasure models in actions under radiological emergencies, the large variety of possible features is simplified by a number of rough assumptions. During this simplification procedure, a lot of information is lost which results in much uncertainty concerning the output of the countermeasure model. Furthermore, different assumptions should be used for different sites to consider the site specific conditions. Tn this study, the diversity of each variable related to protective action has been modelled by the linguistic variable. The effectiveness of sheltering and evacuation has been estimated using the proposed method. The potential advantage of the proposed method is in reducing the loss of information by incorporating the opinions of experts and by introducing the linguistic variables which represent the site specific conditions.
