  • This study investigated the preceding studies and concept of Glam Rock style, modernistically reinterpreted its aesthetic function and symbolism and connected them to design. It analyzed according to the standards for classification the Glam Rock style appearing mainly in the collections from 2002 S/S to 2007 S/S and presented four pieces of design through the analysis. Its findings are synthesized as follows. First, unstructured design constitutes mule stressing gold cubic overall. It takes an unstable form by the placement of unshapely front ball of foot from transforming Chopin and a relatively poor heel. Second, over trimming constitutes separated pumps in the form of over trimming irregularly a piece of broken glass, metal and thumb tack. Third, Mix & Match combines Boot body of flexible knit material with an acrylic wedge sandal. Fourth, a platform sandal has the structure of color contrast between yellow and bronze in calf fur of tiger-skin pattern. I hope that this study will be developed by reflecting Glam Rock spirit and style as cultural phenomena through analyzing Glam Rock style and presenting design according to selected standards for classification, inferring plastic beauty of fashion shoes from them, investigating the change and feature of age-specific shoe design and making a new attempt possible.

  • The geometrically standardized intraoral radiographs using 5 occlusal registration materials were taken serially from immediate, 1 day, 2, 4, 8, 12, and 16 weeks after making the bite blocks. And the resultant images were digitally subtracted using the immediately taken film as reference images. The qualities of those subtracted images were evaluated to check the degree of reproducibility of each impression material. The results were as follows: 1. The standard deviations of the grey scales of the overall subtracted images were 4.9 for Exal1ex, 7.2 for Pattern resin, 9.0 for Tooth Shade Acrylic, 12.2 for XCP only, 14.8 for Impregum. the lesser the standard deviation, the better the quality of the subtracted images. 2. The standard deviation of the grey scales of the overall subtracted images were grossly related to those of the localized horizontal line of interest. 3. Exaflex which showed the best subtracted image quality had 15 cases of straight, 14 cases of wave, 1 case of canyon shape. Impregum which showed the worst subtracted image quality had 4 cases of straight, 8 cases of wave, 18 cases of canyon shape respectively.

  • Effervescent atomizer in which the liquid is ejected from nozzle with bubble caused by gas injection into the liquid is one of twin-fluid atomizers. Effervescent atomizer is operated with the lower injection pressure and the smaller air flow rate when compared with those of other twin-fluid atomizers. In this study, we attempted experiment study to investigate the atomization characteristics of effervescent atomizer related with the internal flow condition. The nozzle was made with acrylic material to investigate the nozzle internal flow. The macroscopic spray analysis was conducted with internal flow images and spray images. Furthermore, SMD was measured by using the laser diffraction method. According to this study, the internal flow condition changed from bubbly flow to annular flow as the air-liquid mass ratio(ALR) increases. At that time, the atomization characteristics were improved.

  • Two pieces of comb-shaped jewelry which are made of animal bones were discovered in Daeseong-dong tomb No.88 in Gimhae. Foreign material was removed from the surface of the objects using ethanol and various small instruments. Fractures or cracks were repaired using cellulose-type synthetic resin and epoxy resin. Acrylic paint was applied repaired areas to match the color and finished conservation treatment. The two comb-shaped accessories, although differing in number of teeth and thickness, were produced by using the same method. A series of fine bone pieces, shaped like comb teeth, are placed between two long bones, assuming animal ulnas, and are fastened together by tying silk thread around them several times, then by placing a coat of lacquer.

  • When high energy photon beam is incident upon an air cavity interface the effect of ionization build-up observed. This phenomenon is resulting from the surface layers of the lesions are significant deficiency of electrons reaching the layers because of the replacement of solid scattering material by the air cavity, that is lack of electronic equilibrium. Measurement have been made in an acrylic phantom with a parallel plate chamber and high energy Photon beams, CO-60, 4MV, 6MV and 10MV X-rays have been investigated. The result of our study show that a significant effect was measured and was determined to be very dependent on field size, air cavity dimension and photon energy. The reductions were much larger for 10MV beam, underdosage at the interface was 12, 12.2, 16.9 and 20.6% for the CO-60, 4 MV, 6MV and 10MV, respectively. It was found that this non-equilibrium effect at the interface is more severe for the higher energy beams than that of lower energy beams and the larger cavity dimensions it is, the larger beam reductions we have. This problem is of clinical concern when lesions such as carcinoma beyond air cavities are irradiated, such as larynx, glottic and the patients with maxillectomy and ethmoidectomy and so forth.

  • A study on the fluid flow with ultrasonic forcing was carried out to get the enhancement of turbulence by laying emphasis on the ultrasonic incidence angles and reflectors. A large water tank was made of the transparent acrylic plates and city water of $25^{\circ}C$ was used as working fluid. 7 angles ($30^{\circ},\;45^{\circ},\;60^{\circ},\;90^{\circ},\;120^{\circ},\;135^{\circ},\;150^{\circ}$) as the ultrasonic incidence angle and 4 materials (wood, acryl, glass, iron) as the reflector were selected arid experiments for the above were made. The velocity vector distribution, kinetic energy and turbulence intensity of the turbulence flow fields enhanced by ultrasonic forcing were measured, compared and discussed by using the PIV measurement which was possible to measure the velocities of simultaneous multipoints. In results, it was cleared that the incidence angle of ultrasonic and material of reflector influenced the enhancement of turbulence.

  • The gilt-bronze Sarira Reliquary was discovered when repairing three-stories east stone pagoda (Treasure No. 395) at Seungju-eup in Suncheon city in Jeollanam-do Province in August, 1986. Then it was appointed as Treasure in 1988. The Sarira Reliquary had been held in Seonamsa temple, but deterioration on the surface and corrosion had appeared affecting its surface detail. Consequently, the conservation treatment was carried out from November 2002 to March 2003.The corrosion and dirt on the surface of the Sarira Reliquary were cleaned with ethyl alcohol and Benzotriazole was applied to prevent further corrosion. Finally, NAD-10(Paraloid NAD-10), acrylic resin, was used to consolidate the structure. Moreover, after non-destructive analysis to confirm element of alloy, copper, gold, silver and mercury were discovered and this result tells us that it was plated with gold by amalgam. Fibers at the pedestal were examined under the microscope and identified as silk. The total height of this Sarira Reliquary is 6.0cm, the height of lotus pedestal and the roof is 2.7cm and 1.8cm, respectively. The roof and body are joined together, and the lotus pedestal can be separated, on which the octagonal reliquary is impaled. The pedestal consists of 3layers of petals and the surface is decorated with flower pattern. The reliquary is presumed to be created in the 14th century, and it becomes valuable historical material to reveal the secret of metal work in the late Goryeo Dynasty.

  • Objectives: Fast-setting pozzolan cement (Endocem, Maruchi) was recently developed. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of various root canal irrigants on the washout of Endocem in comparison to the previously marketed mineral trioxide aggregate (ProRoot; Dentsply) in a furcal perforation model. Materials and Methods: ProRoot and Endocem were placed into acrylic molds on moist Oasis. Each mold was then immediately exposed to either physiologic saline, 2.5% sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl), or 2% chlorhexidine (CHX) under gentle shaking for five minutes. Washout testing was performed by scoring scanning electron microscope (SEM) images. Results: Endocem exhibited higher washout resistance compared to ProRoot, especially in the NaOCl group. Conclusions: These results suggest that Endocem can be considered a useful repair material for furcal perforation, especially in a single-visit scenario.

  • Statement of problem. Implant screw loosening has been remained a problem in implant prosthodontics. The time needed to insert screw driver into abutment screw head should be shortened for the purpose of decreasing the chair time. Purpose. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the design of abutment screw driver on the amount of time for insertion of screw driver into abutment screw head. Material and methods. Hexagonal and rectangular types of abutment screw drivers were used. The original abutment screw drivers were modified by grinding acute angle of the screw driver tip (modified drivers). Group 1 : hexagonal type abutment screw and original driver Group 2 : hexagonal type abutment screw and modified driver Group 3 : rectangular type abutment screw and original driver Group 4 : rectangular type abutment screw and modified driver UCLA lab analogues were located in acrylic resin block. The angulations of them were 0 and 20 degrees. The times needed for insertion were measured. Group 1 and 3 were used as controls. Results. 1. Group 2 showed shorter insertion time than group 1, regardless of implant angulations (p<.05). 2. Group 4 showed shorter insertion time than group 3, regardless of implant angulations (p<.05). Conclusion. Modified abutment screw drivers required less amount of time to insert screw driver into abutment screw head. Modification of abutment screw driver was beneficial.
