The effects of polymer-cement ratio on strength properties of ultrarapid-hardening acrylic-modified concretes. As a result, the flexural and tensile strengths of ultrarapid-hardening acrylic-modified concretes increase with increasing of polymer-cement ratio. In particular, the acrylic-modified concretes with a polymer-cement ratio of 20% provide approximately 1.5 times higher flexural and tensile strengths than unmodified concretes. Such high strength development is attributed to the high flexrul and tensile strengths of arcylic polymer and the improved bond between cement hydrates and aggregates because of the addition of acrylic polymer. However, the compressive strengths of ultrarapid-hardening acrylic-modified concretes decrease with increasing of polymer-cement ratio.
Acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesives are used in many different parts in the world. But acrylic acid in PSAs may occur unexpected results such as corroding adherends or producing by-products when applied within electronic devices. This study employed acrylic PSAs based on 2-ethylhexyl acrylate (2-EHA), 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate (2-HEA) and butyl acrylate (BA) with different coating thickness. There are two types of curing agents. One is methylaziridine derivative (MAZ) and the other is aluminum acetylacetonate (AlACA). This study examined the adhesion performance and curing behaviors using peel strength, probe tack and gel fraction. Also, the viscoelastic properties of acrylic PSAs were investigated from Advanced rheometric expansion system (ARES).
Purpose: This study is to provide basic data of the dental acrylic denture base resin in the mechanical property difference investigation according to the monomer composition weight ratio of the acrylic denture base resin. Methods: The monomer composition of the acrylic denture base resin and weight ratio makes the different specimen. It measured the mechanical property with the specimens through Hardness Test, Tensile Test, Flexural Test, Flexural Modulus, FT-IR Test. Results: The control group Vertex was 18.4 Hv and the experimental group MED was 14.46~19.07Hv in the hardness test. Vertex was 364N, MED-3 was lowest in the tensile strength test and the Head of a family cursor declination was big. The result declination of the experimental specimens showed. Vertex and MED-2 was the highestest in the flexural test and after coming MED-6, MED-5, MED-1, MED-3, MED-4. Vertex and MED-2, as to a spectrum for $500{\sim}1800cm^{-1}$ peak can show the excellent degree of polymerization in the FT-IR Test. Conclusion: The ideal weight ratio of the monomer of the acrylic denture base resin of which the mechanical property is the highestest was MMA 100g, EDGMA 5g, DMA 0.2g, of MED-2.

In this study, water-based acrylic adhesives as copolymers with acrylic acid, 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate were synthesized using ethyl acrylate, 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, and lauryl methacrylate as the main monomers. Prepared water-based acrylic adhesive was compared to physical properties such as solid content, average particle size distribution, initial adhesive force, maximum adhesive force, peel strength, and heat resistance.
In this paper, the dyeing ability of the volcanic ash dyeing on cotton knitted fabrics were investigated. Acrylic copolymer was used to improve the depth of fabric color in the dyeing process. K/S values of dyed fabrics were measured to examine the dyeing properties. Two different classes of dyeing process were tested; (1) volcanic ash dyeing after pretreatment and (2) simultaneous co-treatment with volcanic ash and acrylic copolymer. In the first process, the effects of parameters such as the concentration of volcanic ash, concentration of Na2S04, dyeing time, dyeing temperature and pH of dyebath were noted. In the second process, the effects of parameters such as concentration of acrylic copolymer, dyeing time and temperature, and drying temperature were noted. Experimental results showed that the co-treatment of acrylic copolymer improved the dyeing properties of cotton knitted fabrics with volcanic ash. For the first dyeing experiment, concentration of dispersing agent was 0.1%, concentration of volcanic ash was 4%, treatment time was 20minutes, concentration of $Na_2SO_4$ was 2%, treatment temperature was $60^{\circ}C$ and treatment pH of dyebath was neutral. In the second dyeing experiment, concentration of acrylic copolymer was 2%, treatment temperature was $80^{\circ}C$, treatment time was 40 minutes, and treatment drying temperature was $150^{\circ}C$.

The acrylic copolymers with variation in side chain were synthesized based on molecular design. Wettability and adhesion properties on the wafer surface were investigated for these acrylic copolymer pressure sensitive adhesives. Three-dimensional networks of linear acrylic copolymers were produced with epoxy-type Tetra-DX cross-linking agent. The effect of cross-linking on adhesion characteristics was investigated. The side chain of acrylic copolymer played more important role in wettability than the interfacial interaction. As the degree of cross-linking increased, both probe tack and peel strength decreased. Also, heat resistance measured by SAFT increased with cross-linking; however, it showed the deterioration when excess cross-linking agent was added.
The capsules were prepared from a phase change material (PCM) of octadecane as a core material and melamine formaldehyde resin as a shell material. The PCM capsule size was varied in the range of $3{\sim}25{\mu}m$. The core contents and sizes of the PCM capsule, were determined by DSC and SEM, respectively. An acrylic coating material which contains butyl acrylate (BA), methyl metacrylate (MMA) and acrylic acid (AA) were synthesized by emulsion polymerization. The films were prepared from the acrylic emulsion and PCM capsules which have various capsule sizes. From the results of SEM experiment, it was observed that the PCM capsules were well dispersed inside the film and the surface of the film became less rough when the PCM capsule size was small. The swelling ratio of the films were not significantly affected by the PCM capsule size. However, the tensile strength and elongation of the films were greatly decreased with increasing the PCM capsule size.
UV transmission spectra of water-soluble acrylic resin films containing hydroxybenzophenolic, hydroxyphenylbenzotriazolic UV absorber and HALS(hindered amine light stabilizer) were investigated by exposure time(before exposure weathered for 160 and 320hours) in QUV Weather-Ometer. Also the YID(yellowness index difference), LID(lightness index difference) and CD(color difference) of dried water-soluble acrylic resin films and the coated woods of Larix leptolepis were analyzed by addition level of UV absorber(0, 1, 2 and 3%) and HALS(0, 0.5, 1 and 1.5%) and by exposure time in QUV Weather-Ometer. They showed no significant effects on UV transmission spectra of dried water-soluble acrylic resin films in the range of 300 to 400nm irrespective of exposure time. However, UV transmission decreased as increase of exposure time. UV transmission spectra were lower in dried water-soluble acrylic resin films containing hydroxybenzophenolic UV absorber and HALS than in these containing hydroxyphenylbenzotriazolic UV absorber and HALS in the range of 350 to 400nm. The least YID, LID and CD in the coated woods of Larix leptolepis appeared at the addition level of 3%, based on non-volatile content, in hydroxybenzophenolic and hydroxyphenylbenzotriazolic UV absorber, and of 1.5% in HALS to water-soluble acrylic resin.
UV irradiated acrylic pressure sensitive adhesives(PSAs) are prepared to be used for thermal pad in plasma display panel(PDP). The effect of the chemical structure of side-chain in comonomer and of crosslinking agent on wet-out property of acrylic PSAs in wide temperature range were investigated. The correlationship between viscoelastic behavior and adhesion properties, such as tack and peel strength, was also studied. The experimental results supported that wet-out and adhesion properties of acrylic PSAs were enhanced inversely proportional to side-chain length of comonomer in wide temperature range. The peel energy clearly increased in acrylic PSAs prepared by using di(ethylene glycol) dimethylacrylate (DEGDMA) for crosslinking agent. The results might be due to the difference in the glass transition temperature and viscoelastic behavior of acrylic PSAs.
For the reliability of the combustible properties of arylic acid, this study was investigated the explosion limits of acrylic acid in the reference data. The flash points and AITs(auto-ignition temperatures) by ignition delay time were experimented. The lower flash points of acrylic acid by using Setaflash and Pensky-Martens closed-cup testers were experimented in $48^{\circ}C$ and $51^{\circ}C$, respectively. The lower flash points of arylic acid by using Tag and Cleveland open cup testers were experimented in $56^{\circ}C$. This study measured relationship between the AITs and the ignition delay times by using ASTM E659 tester for acrylic acid. The AIT of acrylic acid was experimented as $417^{\circ}C$. The lower explosion limit(LEL) and the upper explosion limit(UEL) by the measured the lower flash point and the upper flash point of acrylic acid were calculated as 2.2 Vol% and 7.9 Vol%, respectively.
