This study aims to verify experimentally the specifications of the data acquisition system required for the precise measurement of signals in an underwater explosion (UNDEX) experiment. The three data acquisition systems with different specifications are applied to compare their precision relatively on maximum shock pressures from UNDEX. In addition, a method of assessing the acquired signals is suggested by introducing the concept of measurement uncertainty. The underwater explosion experiments are repeated five times under same conditions, and assessment is conducted on maximum quantities acquired from underwater pressure sensors. It is confirmed that the concept of measurement uncertainty is very useful method in accrediting the measurement results of UNDEX experiments.

본 논문에서는 direct sequence(DS) 방식을 이용한 spread spectrum system에 사용할 수 있는 빠른 초기 동기 방법을 제안하였다. 수식적인 모델을 세우고 해석을 한 후 computer simulation을 거쳐 제안된 system의 성능을 분석하여 sliding correlator에 비해 우수함을 입증하였다. 입력 신호의 signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)가 -18dB에서 초기 동기 시간이 45ms 소요되었다. 이 방법의 hardsware 구현과 실험 결과도 설명하였다.

Data acquisition system mounted on the Solar Flare Telescope at Bohyunsan Optical Astronomy Observatory is briefly described. The system is made up with CCD cameras, an image processor, a PCI-type PC and a SUN workstation. The image processor, MVC 150/40 comprises a variable scan acquisition module, an image manager and a binary correlator computational module. A typical polarization image of a sunspot is presented to demonstrate performance of the system.

Under the fast technology changes and budget constraints, the organizations related to national defense face increased demands to develop innovative strategy and methodology to maximize performance with drastically reduced cost. In this context, the management of innovation and change in the defense acquisition area is vital to the Ministry of National Defense, related organizations and industries. In this paper, we discuss three comprehensive innovation strategies and methodologies for the defense acquisition area preparing for next-generation warfare; EVMS (earned value management system), PBL (performance based logistics) and SBA (simulation based acquisition). These collaborating innovative efforts enable us to tackle defense challenges for government and industries with a flexible and optimistic approach that maximizes productivity and performance with minimum cost.

In this paper, an adaptive packet acquisition performance of a CDMA/TDD packet radio system is analyzed and simulated in a frequency-selective Rayleigh fading channel. The frequency-selective fading process is assumed to be WSSUS model which is typical for a satellite and a mobile radio communications. The performance is evaluated in terms of packet error probability. In this adaptive packet acquisition scheme, an auxiliary training sequence is placed within data packet to estimate time-varying channel state. From the simulation results, it is confirmed that the proposed acquisition scheme significantly improves packet error performance compared to the conventional fixed acquisition scheme, especially, for the case of low Doppler frequency. The analysis in this paper can be applied to the design of a CDMA/TDD packet radio system.

A chirp-echo data acquisition and processing system was developed for use as a simplified, PC-based chirp echo-sounder with some data processing software modules. The design of the software and hardware system was implemented via a field-programmable gate array (FPGA). Digital signal processing algorithms for driving a single-channel chirp transmitter and dual-channel receivers with independent TVG (time varied gain) amplifier modules were incorporated into the FPGA for better real-time performance. The chirp-echo data acquisition and processing system consisted of a notebook PC, an FPGA board, and chirp sonar transmitter and receiver modules, which were constructed using three chirp transducers operating over a frequency range of 35-210 kHz. The functionality of this PC-based chirp echo-sounder was tested in various field experiments. The results of these experiments showed that the developed PC-based chirp echo-sounder could be used in the acquisition, processing and analysis of broadband acoustic echoes related to fish species identification.

A newly established provision to enforce the systems engineering was added in the regulation for arms acquisition management in January 2009, and a systems engineering guidelines for defence acquisition is being developed. In this paper we conduct a comparative study of the defence acquisition system in the United States and the Republic of Korea, and propose a improving plan about the domestic defence acquisition system.

In a spread spectrum system, the bandwidth and period of spreading code is wide and long, respectively. So it is necessary to make the code acquisition time as short as possible. In particular, serial search code acquisition system requires optimum dwell time for fast acquisition. In this paper, code acquisition time is calculated by varying dwell time. Among them, minimum code acquisition time is chosen and then optimum dwell time can be obtained. Detection probability (P$_{D}$) and false alarm probability (P$_{FA}$) can be obtained by integrating chi-square pdf by numerical analysis. The results are compared with that of gaussian approximation method and then it is concluded gaussian approximation method is not suitable for obtaining optimum dwell time. Computer simulation supports theoretical results.

In this paper, we consider the acquisition performance of an IS-95 reverse link access channel slot as a function of system design parameters such as postdetection integration length and the number of access channel message block repetitons. The uncertainty region of the reverse link spreading codes compared to that of forward link is very small, since the uncertainty region of the reverse link is determined by a cell radius. Thus, the parallel acquisiton technique in the reverse link is more efficient than a serial acquisition technique in terms of implementation and of acquisition time. The parallel acquisition is achieved by a bank of N parallel I/Q noncoherent correlator are analyzed for band-limited noise and the Rayleigh fast fading channel. The detection probability is derived for multiple correct code-phase offsets and multipath fading. The probability of no message error is derived when rake combining, access channel message block combining, and Viterbi decoding are applied. Numerical results provide the acquisition performance for system design parameters such as postdetection integration length and number of access channel message block repetitions in case of a random access on a mobile station.

Recently the construction of the ERP(Enterprise Resource Planning) system becomes accomplished actively from the many enterprises. But the many problems occur in acquisition of production data which is a fundamental data of system. Also to delay the acquisition of the production result is fatal in the efficient business operation. The construction of the POP(Point of Production) system which acquires production data at real time is become accomplished widely, In the POP system it is most important to acquire the production data which is accurate. But the many enterprises drop the competitive power with acquisition of the data which could not be trusted. In this paper, we analyze these causes and present the method which it can improve the reliability of production data. Also we introduce a real application case.
