This paper presents the calculation of the required bandwidth of common frequency bandwidth applying queueing theory for maximizing the efficiency of frequency resource of WPAN(Wireless Personal Area Network) based Digital acoustic and communication devices. It assumed that LBT device(ZigBee) and FH devices (DCP, RFID and Bluetooth) coexist in the common frequency band for WPAN based Digital acoustic and communication devices. Frequency hopping (FH) and listen before talk (LBT) have been used for interference avoidance in the short range device (SRD). The LBT system transmits data after searching for usable frequency bandwidth in the radio wave environment. However, the FH system transmits data without searching for usable frequency bandwidth. The queuing theory is employed to model the FH and LBT system, respectively. As a result, the throughput for each channel was analyzed by processing the usage frequency and the interval of service time for each channel statistically. When common frequency bandwidth is shared with SRD using 250mW, it was known that about 35 channels were required at the condition of throughput 84%, which was determined with the input condition of Gaussian distribution implying safety communication. Therefore, the common frequency bandwidth is estimated with multiplying the number of channel by the bandwidth per channel. These methodology will be useful for the efficient usage of frequency bandwidth.
Motor noise is a major concern in order to improve perceptual feeling of car interior sound due to increased motor usage in passenger cars. The purpose of this study is to propose factors that can represent the acoustic performance of motor noise according to the change of load. To this end, at first, it is shown that power spectrum and total loudness are not fit for noise performance, and then, PNB, partial loudness related to the brush friction component, and PNR, partial loudness related to the torque ripple component are investigated as factors representing motor noise. The performance curve of motor noise using PNB and PNR is proposed to identify trends of motor noise according to the loads. The curve could be a guide for the noise control, the selection of motor, and the improvement of a system.
We present two large cosmological N-body simulations, called Horizon Run 2 (HR2) and Horizon Run 3 (HR3), made using
Proposed is a speaker normalization method based on vector quantizer for continuous speech recognition (CSR) system in which no acoustic information is made use of. The proposed method, which is an improvement of the previously reported speaker normalization scheme for a simple digit recognizer, builds up a canonical codebook by iteratively training the codebook while the size of codebook is increased after each iteration from a relatively small initial size. Once the codebook established, the warp factors of speakers are estimated by comparing exhaustively the warped versions of each speaker's utterance with the codebook. Two sets of phones are used to estimate the warp factors: one, a set of vowels only. and the other, a set composed of all the Phonemes. A Piecewise linear warping function which corresponds to the estimated warp factor is adopted to warp the power spectrum of the utterance. Then the warped feature vectors are extracted to be used to train and to test the speech recognizer. The effectiveness of the proposed method is investigated by a set of recognition experiments using the TIMIT corpus and HTK speech recognition tool kit. The experimental results showed comparable recognition rate improvement with the formant based warping method.
A wind-driven current in the East Sea from Lagrangian measurements of wind and current at 15 m using MiniMet drifters was analyzed. Spectral analysis of the current from 217 pieces of a 10 day-long time series shows the dominant energy at the inertial frequency for the current at 15 m. Wind has energy peaks at a 0.2-0.5 cycles per day (cpd) frequency band. The power spectrum of the clockwise rotating component is predominant for the current and was 1.5-2 times larger than the anticlockwise rotating component for wind. Co-spectra between the wind and current show two peak frequency bands at subinertial frequency and 0.5-0.3 cpd. Coherences between the wind and current at those peak frequencies are significant with 95% confidence and phase differences were
The structural modes driven by the low wave-number components of smooth elastic wall pressure provide a relatively weak coupling between the flow and the wall motion. If the elastic thin plate has any resonant mode whose wave-number of resonance coincides with
In this paper, the tone of Daegeum, one of the most representative wind instruments of our country, was analyzed. Daegeum is widely used as Jeongak Daegeum and Sanjo Daegeum, which are played in royal and wind music, and Sanjo Daegeum is mainly played in Sanjo, Sinawi and folk music. The reason why the two pieces of music are being played in different music genres is due to the improvement of the length of the pipe and the location of the finger holes, allowing the Sanjo Daegeum to perform faster than Jeongak Daegeum, apply various techniques, and make the choice of musical instruments harmonized with music by making the difference in tone. For timber analysis of Jeongak Daegeum and Sanjo Daegeum, the composition of the overtones was visually verified through Spectrogram and Spectrum Analizer, in which the results of recordings were recorded by playing octave low, flat, and octave high positions with the same power. From this, Jeongak Daegeum, which is rich in low-pitched sound, harmonizes with solemn music such as royal music, and Sanjo Daegeum, which has a relatively clear high-pitched sound, is well suited to bright music such as solo music.
Vacuum cleaner is a close life product that can remove various dusts from our surroundings. However well vacuum cleaner clean our environments, many people are looking away from it, due to its loud noise. Its noise causes a big trouble in the usual life, for example, catch calls, TV watching and discussing etc. To reduce these inconveniences, noise reduction methods and systematic design of low noise vacuum cleaner are studied in this paper. At first, sound quality investigation is performed to get the noise level and quality that make people TV watching and catch calls available. Based on the European and domestic customer SQ survey result, sound power, peak noise level and target sound spectrum guideline are studied and introduced. As a second, precise product sound spectrums are designed into each part based on the sound quality result. Fan-motor, brush, mainbody, cyclone spectrums are decided to get the final target sound based on the contribution level. Fan-motor is the major noise source of vacuum cleaner. Specially, its peak sound, RPM peak and BPF Peak, cause the people nervous. To reduce these peak sounds, high rotating impeller and diffuser are focused due to its interaction. A lot of experimental and numerical tests, operation points are investigated and optimization of flow path area between diffusers is performed. As a bagless device, cyclones are one of the major noise sources of vacuum cleaner. To reduce its noise, previous research is used and adopted well. Brush is the most difficult part to reduce noise. Its noise sources are all comes from aero-acoustic phenomena. Numerical analysis helps the understanding of flow structure and pattern, and a lot of experimental test are performed to reduce the noise. Gaps between the carpet and brush are optimized and flow paths are re-designed to lower the noise. Reduction is performed with keeping the cleaning efficiency and handling power together and much reduction of noise is acquired. With all above parts, main-body design is studied. To do a systematic design, configuration design developments technique is introduced from airplane design and evolved with each component design. As a first configuration, fan-motor installation position is investigated and 10 configuration ideas are developed and tested. As a second step, reduced size and compressed configuration candidates are tested and evaluated by a lot of major factor. Noise, power, mass production availability, size, flow path are evaluated together. If noise reduction configuration results in other performance degrade, the noise reduction configuration is ineffective. As a third configuration, cyclones are introduced and the size is reduced one more time and fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh configuration are evolved with size and design image with noise and other performance indexes. Finally we can get a overall much noise level reduction configuration. All above investigations are adopted into vacuum cleaner design and final customer satisfaction tests in Europe are performed. 1st grade sound quality and lowest noise level of bagless vacuum cleaner are achieved.
The wall shear stress in the vicinity of end-to end anastomoses under steady flow conditions was measured using a flush-mounted hot-film anemometer(FMHFA) probe. The experimental measurements were in good agreement with numerical results except in flow with low Reynolds numbers. The wall shear stress increased proximal to the anastomosis in flow from the Penrose tubing (simulating an artery) to the PTFE: graft. In flow from the PTFE graft to the Penrose tubing, low wall shear stress was observed distal to the anastomosis. Abnormal distributions of wall shear stress in the vicinity of the anastomosis, resulting from the compliance mismatch between the graft and the host artery, might be an important factor of ANFH formation and the graft failure. The present study suggests a correlation between regions of the low wall shear stress and the development of anastomotic neointimal fibrous hyperplasia(ANPH) in end-to-end anastomoses. 30523 T00401030523 ^x Air pressure decay(APD) rate and ultrafiltration rate(UFR) tests were performed on new and saline rinsed dialyzers as well as those roused in patients several times. C-DAK 4000 (Cordis Dow) and CF IS-11 (Baxter Travenol) reused dialyzers obtained from the dialysis clinic were used in the present study. The new dialyzers exhibited a relatively flat APD, whereas saline rinsed and reused dialyzers showed considerable amount of decay. C-DAH dialyzers had a larger APD(11.70
