To improve the dyeability and colorfastness of cotton and silk fabric dyed with natural dye of safflower, cotton and silk fabrics were pre-treated with different mordants such as halliic-acid, alum, brine and tannic-acid. Also, to investigate the effect of finishing treatment of fabrics on dyeability, cotton was treated with chitosan and mercerized before dyeing. L, a, b, ΔE and colorfastness(light, Laundry, sweat) of each samples were measured and compared. Mordant treatment didn't improved significantly dyeability and colorfastness on cotton and silk. But, on cotton mercerization and chitosan treatment improved dyeability and colorfastness. To compare the efficiency of extracted dye and Powered dye, extracted red dye of safflower prepared as powder. Cotton and silk were dyed with dyeing solution which made with powdered dye according to different concentration. Efficiency of powdered dye was found out lower than extracted dye solution.
The dyeing characteristics of Dylon hand dyes on the cotton & silk fabric were studied, and the fastnesses of Dylon hand dyes were compared with those of direct & acid dyes. The results are as follows. 1. Dye adsorption of Dylon hand dyes increased as the concentration of dye increased. 2. Dye adsorption was increased as treatment time increased, and reached to eqilibrium after forty minutes treatment. 3. The temperature at mixiumum adsorption was 6$0^{\circ}C$, in the range of lower temperature than 6$0^{\circ}C$ color was changed, in the range of higher temperature adsorption of dye was decreased. 4. Dye adsorption was increased in direct proprotion to NaCl concentration and reached to equilibrium. But NaCl concentration of even and maximum adsorption was 5%. 5. Wash fastness of Dylon hand dyes was better than direct & acid dyes, but light fastness was worse.

There are many advantages of dyebath-reuse, including less water to heat, less effluent to treat, and a reduced consumption of energy, dyes, and chemical auxiliaries. Because of the potential economic and environmental advantages involved in this process, clearly it is deserving of further investigation. Dyebath-reuse using pH-sliding system has been investigated in the dyeing of polyamide with a single acid dye in a previous study. (omitted)
The selective chemical degradation or etching of PET based on an organic amine attack on the ester group. The techniques involves the chemical removal of loss ordered amorphous regions or crystalline regions, which are essentially unaffected by the degradative etchant. Thus, most of previous studies have limited to consideration which has been given to structural changes taking place. Therefore, this study was carried out to investigate surface characterization, dyeing properties of PET film hydrazinolyzed with hydrazine hydrate in methanol. PET film was treated with 30% hydrazine hydrate in methanol at $30^\circ{C}$ for various time intervals. The total surface tension of treated PET increased, the dispersion force decreased and the hydrogen bonding force increased. The equilibrium dye adsorption, dyeing rate and apparent diffusion coefficient of acid dyes increased, and the apparent activation energies of diffusion decreased.
Synthetic suede without PFCs(perfluorinated compounds) are followed by subsequent high temperature treatment. But migration fastness of synthetic suede may be reduced due to sublimation of disperse dyes that results from the high temperature treatment. Therefore, in this study, chitosan treatment was used to improve the migration fastness before polyurethane dipping process. Polyester fiber was treated with sodium hydroxide aqueous solution before chitosan processing. This samples treated with a chitosan concentration upto 0.5% were dyed and coated with PUD(polyurethane dispersion). The migration fastness was most improved at 0.35% application. This is presumably due to the fact that the chitosan may increase the dye-binding capability through intermolecular hydrogen bonding.
In foam dyebath assisted with and without solvent (iso-propylacohol) for polyester and polyester(30%)/nylon(70%) (P3/N7) nonwoven fabrics, adsorption behavior of polyester and P3/N7 nonwovens dyed with C.I. Disperse Red 4 (Red 4), C.I. Acid Violet 54(Violet 54) and Red 4/Violet 54 were investigated by determining the K/S value. The K/S values of polyester and P3/N7 nonwovens in the foam dyeing was greatly enchanced by adding the iso-propylalcohol, but these values were not higher than the carrier dyeing. Dyeabilities of polyester/nylon blended nonwoven fabrics to Red 4, Violet 54 and Red 4/Violet 54 in the foam dyeing were influenced by the affinity of dye to fiber.
The purse of this study was to invesigate the dyeing fastness on extract of bufferbur leaf princeps. The experimental items were divided into the mordant treatment, component of fabric and kind of mordants. The experimental study was done by laundering, abrasion (dry/wet), perspiration (acid/alkali), light, iron fastness test and color difference by C.C.M system. The summerized finding resulted from experiments and investigation are suggested as follows : In the C.C.M test on mordanting method and kind of fabric, color difference of silk was three times higher than cotton. The silk fabric was the highest in simultaneous mordant treatment but cotton fabric was the highest in none mordant. In color difference analysis on 6 mordants, that of silk and cotton was significantly improved when mordants was treatmented. Especially color difference of Fe and Cu mordanting treatment was higher than Cr, Sn, Al and none. In dyeing fastness on mordants laundering, perspiration, abrasion and iron fastness showed 4-5 grade but light-fastness showed 1-3 grade.
A series of poly[3-methylene-3'-methylenesodiumbisulfite-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl) sulfone] (PMSBPS) was synthesized by the reaction of bis-(4-hydroxyphenyl)sulfone(BPS), formalin, and formaldehyde sodium bisulfite(FSB), and their effect on the staining of direct dye on nylon in the dyeing of nylon/cotton union fabric was investigated. PMSBPSes have good staining resist effect on nylon in the dyeing of nylon/cotton union. Prolonged reacting time between BPS and formalin is effective in improving the staining resist of final PMSBPS. Too many sulfonic acid groups than necessary in the PMSBPS increase the staining of nylon, presumably by increasing the solubility of PMSBPS. Staining resist effect of PMSBPS was evident in the measurement of color diffence of dyed goods.

The present study aims to the use of carboxymenthyl cellulose (CMC) improving the ability of fiber in the dyeing process. Cellulose was extracted from banana leaves by NaOH and then modified by reacting with chloroacetic acid to obtain the carboxymenthyl cellulose. The effect of carboxymenthyl cellulose contents on the mechanical properties and dye absorption were also investigated. Then, CMC were blend with polypropylene (grade 561R) at 1%, 3% and 5% by weight ratio. The fibers were obtained from single screw extruder. The results show that the mechanical properties of the product decreased when increased the amount of CMC in the fiber product. After dyeing, the dye however were absorbed by the CMC-PP fibers more than the original PP fibers. The absorption of dye on the CMC-PP fibers increased significantly with the CMC ratio.
Polyester ultrarmcrofiber(UMF, fiber fineness : 0.05d) and the other three kinds of polyester fibers(0.52, 1.04 and 2.08d) were dyed with two disperse dyes, C.1. Disperse Red 60 and Blue 56. Dyeing rates and absorption isotherms of these dyes have been measured at 100, 115 and $130^\circ{C}$ in water system. The dye bath was maintained at pH 5.0 with acetic acid(0.1mo1/1) /sodium acetate(0.1mo1/1) buffers and a liquor ratio of 1000:1. The absorption isotherms from two disperse dyes are nearly linear up to the saturation values, which increase with the temperature of dyeing. Dye uptake decreased with the fiber fineness in lower temperature $100^\circ{C})$, whereas increased in higher temperature$(130^\circ{C})$. A comparatively greater quantity of dye is necessary to dye ultrarmcrofiber fabrics than conventional fabrics. Disperse Blue 56 having a good build-up property is agreed to Fothergill's equation, which is inversely varied with the fiber fineness by the quantity of dye necessary to obtain a given shade.
