  • Radiobeacons that carry corrections for global satellite navigation systems are currently being planned or installed in many countries. In early 1996, it was begun to send DGPS correction message from a marine radiobeacon station located in Changgi Got Lighthouse. It was the first test broadcast of DGPS correction data based on medium frequency of marine radiobeacon where transmission power and rate are 300W and 100bps respectively in Korea. However, there has not been any scientific study on the characteristic of the accuracy of a marine radiobeacon/DGPS. Accordingly, this paper investigates the accuracy of the system, which is currently operating in 310kHz. To do this , the real time differential correction in RTCM data was collected in an implemented system. And then the accuracy was analyzed related to the coverge of the radiobeacon/DGPS. As a result, it is verified that the differential positioning accuracy using the marine radiobeacon is sufficient to ensure the safety of marine activities around the coast of Korea.

  • This paper focuses on improving accuracy in constrained computing settings by employing the ReLU (Rectified Linear Unit) activation function. The research conducted involves modifying parameters of the ReLU function and comparing performance in terms of accuracy and computational time. This paper specifically focuses on optimizing ReLU in the context of a Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) by determining the ideal values for features such as the dimensions of the linear layers and the learning rate (Ir). In order to optimize performance, the paper experiments with adjusting parameters like the size dimensions of linear layers and Ir values to induce the best performance outcomes. The experimental results show that using ReLU alone yielded the highest accuracy of 96.7% when the dimension sizes were 30 - 10 and the Ir value was 1. When combining ReLU with the Adam optimizer, the optimal model configuration had dimension sizes of 60 - 40 - 10, and an Ir value of 0.001, which resulted in the highest accuracy of 97.07%.

  • The study was to investigate the agreement rate between the statistical diagnosis of pattern identification by discriminant analysis and the clinical diagnosis of pattern identification by medical specialist in obese patients with BMI$\geqq$23. The agreement rate of deficiency of the spleen, phlegm-retention, deficiency of Yang, retention of undigested food, stagnation of liver Gi, and blood stagnation are 0.40, 0.33, 0.52, 0.76, 0.71, and 0.66, respectively and accuracy rate and prediction rate using linear discriminant function are 0.59 and 0.61, respectively. Therefore, the complementary management in CRF questionnaires and/or consultation from experts will improve the accuracy and prediction rate, which will be helpful for pattern identification of obesity by clinical experts.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the accuracy of predictive equations for resting metabolic rate (RMR) in Korean college students. Subjects were 60 healthy Korean college students (30 males, 30 females) aged 18-25 years. RMR was measured by indirect calorimetry. Predicted RMRs were calculated using the Harris-Benedict, Schofield (W)/(WH), FAO/ WHO/UNU(W)/(WH), Owen, Mifflin, Cunningham, Liu, IMNA and Henry (W)/(WH) equations. The accuracy of the equations was evaluated on basis of accurate prediction (the percentage of subjects whose RMR was predicted within 90% to 110% of the RMR measured), mean difference, RMSPE, mean % difference, limits of agreement of Bland- Altman method between predicted and measured RMR. Measured RMR of male and female students were $1833.4{\pm}307.4kcal/day$ and $1454.3{\pm}208.0kcal/day$, respectively. All predictive equations underestimated measured RMR. Of the predictive equations tested, the Harris-Benedict equation (mean difference: -80.4 kcal/day, RMSPE: 236 kcal/day, mean % difference: -3.1%) was the most accurate and precise, but accurate prediction of the equation was only 42%. Thus, this study suggests that the ethnicity-specific predictive equation from Korean people should be developed to improve the accuracy of predicted RMR for Koreans. • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to measure the resting metabolic rate (RMR) and to assess the accuracy of RMR predictive equations for Korean farmers. Methods: Subjects were 161 healthy Korean farmers (50 males, 111 females) in Gangwon-area. The RMR was measured by indirect calorimetry for 20 minutes following a 12-hour overnight fasting. Selected predictive equations were Harris-Benedict, Mifflin, Liu, KDRI, Cunningham (1980, 1991), Owen-W, F, FAO/WHO/UNU-W, WH, Schofield-W, WH, Henry-W, WH. The accuracy of the equations was evaluated on the basis of bias, RMSPE, accurate prediction and Bland-Altman plot. Further, new RMR predictive equations for the subjects were developed by multiple regression analysis using the variables highly related to RMR. Results: The mean of the measured RMR was 1703 kcal/day in males and 1343 kcal/day in females. The Cunningham (1980) equation was the closest to measured RMR than others in males and in females (males Bias -0.47%, RMSPE 110 kcal/day, accurate prediction 80%, females Bias 1.4%, RMSPE 63 kcal/day, accurate prediction 81%). Body weight, BMI, circumferences of waist and hip, fat mass and FFM were significantly correlated with measured RMR. Thus, derived prediction equation as follow : males RMR = 447.5 + 17.4 Wt, females RMR = 684.5 - 3.5 Ht + 11.8 Wt + 12.4 FFM. Conclusions: This study showed that Cunningham (1980) equation was the most accurate to predict RMR of the subjects. Thus, Cunningham (1980) equation could be used to predict RMR of Korean farmers studied in this study. Future studies including larger subjects should be carried out to develop RMR predictive equations for Korean farmers.

  • This cross-sectional survey research carried out with the inquisitive agenda on satisfaction of the translation outcomes as performed by human translation and (machine translation) post-editing. The survey group consisted of 166 Korean translators primarily working with the English, Chinese, and Japanese languages. They were asked to rate the satisfactory level with accuracy, fluency, idiomatic expression, and terminology in the Richter's scale of four. The result reveals that human translation is more satisfactory than post-editing with respect to accuracy, but it is uneasy to assert that accuracy is unsatisfactory in post-editing. On the other hand, the Korean translators are less satisfied with fluency, idiomatic expression, and terminology than accuracy. It can be assumed that although human translation is more satisfactory than post-editing, the accuracy of post-editing seems to be more acknowledged than fluency, idiomatic expression, and terminology, which lead the translators to take the accuracy of raw machine-translation products and to go on to improve the fluency, idiomatic expression, and terminology. Nevertheless, Korean translators believe Korean idiomatic expressions cannot be satisfactorily produced in post-editing, while fluency and terminology can be improved in post-editing.
