Development of the Construction Safety Information System (건설안전정보시스템 구축에 관한 연구)

  • In construction industry, workers' accident rates are relatively high compared to those of other industries. These high accidents rates are mostly due to the characteristics of construction process. In order to effectively reduce the accident rates, it is required to develop not only immediate measures but also long-term programs of instruction, training, and education. In addition, well-analyzed information on past history is required for the prevention of accidents. By examining about 800 cases of construction accidents that happened between Jan. 1992 and Dec. 2000, this paper developed an information system that provides appropriated safety information to the construction workers. This system is expected to contribute to the workers' safety in construction industry.

Regional Traffic Accident Model of Elderly Drivers based on Urban Decline Index (도시쇠퇴 지표를 적용한 지역별 고령운전자 교통사고 영향 분석)

  • This study deals with the relation between traffic accident and urban decline. The purpose of this study is to develop the regional accident models of elderly drivers. In order to develop the count data models, 2009-2015 traffic accident data from TAAS(traffic accident analysis system) and urban decline data from urban regeneration information system are collected. The main results are as follows. First, the null hypothesis that there is no difference in the accident number between elderly and non-elderly drivers is rejected. Second, 8 accident models which are all statistically significant have been developed. Finally, common variables between elderly and non-elderly are ratio of elderly people, elderly person living alone/1,000 persons and wholesale/retail employments/1,000 persons. This study could be expected to give many implications to making regional accident reduction policy.

The Correspondence Competence of Information Accident by Firms Experienced in Confidential Information Leak (기밀정보 유출 경험을 가진 기업들의 정보사고 대응역량 강화에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine a security investment for firms experienced in confidential information leak. Information security is an apparatus for protection of secret information. The competence of information security is a competitiveness to avoid information leakage in changing business environment. The type of information security is divided into administrative security, technical security and physical security. It is necessary to improve the incident correspondence competence through information security investment of the three types. Therefore, the investment of information security is to enhance information-asset protection of firms. To reinforce accident response competence, an organization discussed an establishment, security technology development, expand investment and legal system of the security system. I have studied empirically targeting the only information leak of firms. This data is a technical security competence and technology leakage situation of firms happened in 2010. During recovery of the DDos virus damage on countries, company and individual, the collected data signify a reality of information security. The data also identify a security competence of firms worrying information security management. According to the study, the continuous investment of information security has a high competence of accident correspondence. In addition, the most of security accidents showed a copy and stealing of paper and computer files. Firm on appropriate security investment is an accident correspondence competence higher than no security investment regardless of a large, small and medium-sized, and venture firm. Furthermore, the rational security investment should choose the three security type consideration for firm size.

  • Whenever the accidents occur in the rail way areas, their prompt recovery is very important. The individual way has been used to resolve these accident by direct visiting the site and reporting to others of the person who cares for these cases. As a result, we are planing to operate the MTS (Multimedia Transmission System) for a timely information's transmission to the related peoples in the central control center by transforming the picture information on the accident-site to the digital information.

  • As an Accident data recorder (ADR) is a system to record a vehicle's status and dynamics information on the before and after of accident, Traffic accident investigation agencies and parts developers have a lot of interest to analyze an accident objectively and develop automotive safety devices by using real accident data, This study is to analyze an accident objectively and scientifically on the basis of traffic accident reconstruction with the use of output data of an event data recorder. This study is conducted double lane change test six times and slalom test one time as a field driving test and simulation. Based on the vehicle speed, the longitudinal and transverse acceleration, steering angle, driving path, and other kinds of information obtained from the field driving test, this study performed a simulation with PC-Crash program of reenacting and analyzing a traffic accident. The simulation was performed twice in the acceleration-steering angle input method and in the acceleration-driving path input method. By comparing the result of the field driving test with the results of the two simulations, we drew an analysis method with the optimal path reconstruction.

  • If a transient occurs in a nuclear power plant (NPP), operators will try to protect the NPP by estimating the kind of abnormality and mitigating it based on recommended procedures. Similarly, operators take actions based on severe accident management guidelines when there is the possibility of a severe accident occurrence in an NPP. In any such situation, information about the occurrence time of severe accident-related events can be very important to operators to set up severe accident management strategies. Therefore, support systems that can quickly provide this kind of information will be very useful when operators try to manage severe accidents. In this research, the occurrence times of several events that could happen during a severe accident were predicted using support vector machines with short time variations of plant status variables inputs. For the preliminary step, the break location and size of a loss of coolant accident (LOCA) were identified. Training and testing data sets were obtained using the MAAP5 code. The results show that the proposed algorithm can correctly classify the break location of the LOCA and can estimate the break size of the LOCA very accurately. In addition, the occurrence times of severe accident major events were predicted under various severe accident paths, with reasonable error. With these results, it is expected that it will be possible to apply the proposed algorithm to real NPPs because the algorithm uses only the early phase data after the reactor SCRAM, which can be obtained accurately for accident simulations.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the current situation of safety accident received by Korea Consumer Agency and to provide a basis for preparing measures to prevent safety accident. This study was a descriptive study that secondary analyzes 4934 safety accidents accident information received from Korea Consumer Agency from 2013 to 2017. In this study, safety accident occurred more frequently woman, between 50-59 years old, the cause of safety accident were adverse effect after medical procedure(42.4%), the place where safety accident occurred private hospital(28.6%), integumentary system(41.3%) where safety accident occurred, symptoms of safety accident caused other organ damage and pain(13.1%) occurred most frequently and characteristics of safety accident differed depending on place of safety accident. Based on the results of this study, it is suggested to established a surveillance system that can prevent safety accident in which medical problems occur.

  • Traffic accidents occur in Korea are calculated with the 「Automobile Accident Negligence Ratio Certification Standard」 prepared by the 'General Insurance Association of Korea' and the insurance company's agreement or judgment is made. However, disputes are frequently occurring in calculating the negligence ratio. Therefore, it is thought that a more effective response would be possible if accident type according to the standard could be quickly identified using traffic accident information prepared by police. Therefore, this study aims to develop a model that learns the accident information prepared by the police and classifies it to match the accident type in the standard. In particular, through data mining, keywords necessary to classify the accident types of the standard were extracted from the accident data of the police. Then, models were developed to derive the types of accidents by learning the extracted keywords through decision trees and random forest models.

  • In this study, we have developed the personal computer-based industrial accident information management system(AIMS) which produces the industrial accident reports, various statistical reports and graphic charts such as pie, bar and trent charts. Recognizing the fact that computer systems are an integral part of today's business environment, the computerized industrial accident information management system serves as tools to help safety professionals accurately and rapidly obtain the information necessary to make decisions. The system can be used for the prevention of industrial accidents by early detection of potential hazards and by scientific and systematic analysis of causal factors.

  • Compared with other transport means, safety and timeliness are the merits of railways. Unexpectedly when accident happens, much time and human strength are required to cope with the accident. And for swift recovery, systematic rehabilitation is needed. Recently using MTS(Moving picture Transmission System), we can perform accident rehabilitation and recording work efficiently. MTS is the device that transmits continuous picture information from accident field to control center. We are developing the appropriate system to railway situation to make use of the existing information communication technology, processing technology of video-tex, super high speed transmission technology through fiber-optic, copper cable and network description of information Technology, etc. If these communication-based can technologies are applied to railway system, railway managers can control the accident by inspecting the picture of accident field and can contribute to the safe train operation and the improvement of railway management. In this paper, we investigate the connecting methods when optical fiber is used for moving picture data transmission of train accidents, and its problems. And, we validate MTS's performance through about 28km section of field test.
