  • Android file system is vulnerable to the external access of system resources via its arbitrary access mode and need user's control for SD and UMS medias due to its open architecture. In response to the device control, there is a drawback that its controlability is valid only in the case of embedded linux kernel with VDC function. Hence the solution is to directly implement VDC through system call, with another security module for device storage than system module being added to android system. In this paper the new method of android storage access control for personal information is proposed via VDC for mount system of storage. The access method for SD and UMS were implemented using VDC and mount mechanism. This access control system has been designed to control the granted users in kernel level if files are flowed out by copying. As a result, it was proved through testing that the access control system has exactly detected the write access operation.

  • When computer systems with mandatory access control mechanism are interconnected each other for enforcing the MHS(Message Handling System) security on the multilevel secure distributed network environment, illegal information flow may occurs due to the unexpected cascade vulnerability problem. In this paper, new MHS security policy and security property functions are proposed for preventing the cascade vulnerability.

  • From public insecurity, access of wealth, alteration of population structure, and changes of security recognition, physical security has been continuously developed and changed. In these days, typical systems for physical security are unmanned security system using telephone network and security equipment, image recognition system using DVR and camera, and access control system by finger print recognition and RFID cards. However, physical security system is broadening its domain towards ICT based convergence with networked camera, biometrics, individual authentication, and LBS services. This paper proposes main technical trends and various security convergences for future physical security services by classifying the security categories into 3 parts; Individual security for personal protection, IT Convergence for large buildings, and Homeland Security for omni-directional security.

  • If digital forensic investigators can utilize file access logs when they audit insider information leakage cases or incident cases, it would be helpful to understand user's behaviors more clearly. There are many known artifacts related to file access in MS Windows. But each of the artifacts often lacks critical information, and they are usually not preserved for enough time. So it is hard to track down what has happened in a real case. In this thesis, I suggest a method to utilize SACL(System Access Control List) which is one of the audit functions provided by MS Windows. By applying this method of strengthening the Windows's audit settings, even small organizations that cannot adopt security solutions can build better environment for conducting digital forensic when an incident occurs.

  • RBAC(Role-Based Access Control) is an access control method based on the user's role and it provides more flexibility on the various computer and network security fields. But, RBAC models consider only users for roles or permissions, so for the purpose of exact access control within real application systems, it is necessary to consider additional subjects and objects. In this paper, we propose an Extended RBAC model, $ERBAC_3$, for access control of multi-level security system by adding users, subjects, objects and roles level to RBAC, which enables multi-level security control.

  • This paper applies role-based access control(RBAC) policy for solving security problems when it will be operated business of many field on the Linux sever environments and designed RBAC_Linux security systems that it is possible to manage security systems on the Linux environments. In this paper, the RBAC_Linux is security system which is designed for applicable on the Linux enviroment The applying RBAC model is based on RBAC96 model due to Sandhu et al. Therefor, the using designed RBAC_Linux security system on the Linux sever system have the advantage of the following: it can be implemented sever system without modifying its source code, high migration, easy and simple of secure managing.

  • Recently there has been a marked increase in concern for security in computerized operations. The purposes of computer security controls are to protect against the unauthorized access to and modification of data processing resources, unauthorised access to and modification of data files and software, and the misuse of authorized activities. The controls relate to the physical security of the data processing department and of the areas within the data processing department : to the security of the data files, programs, and system software : and to the human interaction with the data files, programs, and system software. The controls that will be discussed in this paper include : I. Risk on the computer use. II. Methods of risk counter measure. III. Role of system auditing.

  • Smart building gate security control system using smartphone integrated with near field communication (NFC) has become part of daily life usage these days. The technology change in replacing RF NFC device using visible light communication technology based approach growing faster in recent days. This paper propose a design and development of gate security control system using color code based user authentication ID generation as part of an intelligent access control system to control automatic door open and close. In this approach gate security access control use the recent visible light communication technology trends to transfer the user specific authentication code to door access control system using color code on smartphone screen. Using a camera in the door access control system (ACS), color codes on smartphone screens are detected and matched to the database of authenticated user to open the door automatically in gate security system. We measure the visual light communication technology efficiency as a part of the research and the experiments have revealed that more than 95% users authenticated correctly at the suggested experiment environment on gate security control system.

  • For activating home network, the security service is positively necessary and especially the access control supports secure home network services and differentiated services. But, the existing security technology for home network seldom consider access control or has a architecture to be dependent on specific middleware. Therefore, in this paper we propose a scheme to support integrated access control in home network to use XACML, access control standard of next generation, to have compatability and extensibility and we design and implement XACML access control system based on this. we also had m access control experiment about various policy to connect developed XACML access control system with the UPnP proxy based on OSGi in order to verify compatability with existing home network system.

  • This paper is to develop a security module for electronic approval systems. Electronic documents are created, transmitted and saved in the company's intranet computer network. Transmitting electronic documents, however, brings us a security problem. Communications among various computer systems are exposed to many security threats. Those threats are eavesdropping, repudiation, replay back etc. The main purpose of this paper is to develop a module which provides the security of electronic documents while they are passed from one place to another This paper applies Multi-Level security to the electronic approval system that guarantees security of electronic documents from many threats. Multi-Level security controls the access to the documents by granting security level to subject users and object electronic documents. To prevent possible replay back attacks, this paper also uses one time password to the system. The security module is composed of client program and server one. The module was developed using Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 and Microsoft SQL Server 7.0. The code uses Richard Bondi's WCCO(Wiley CryptoAPI COM Objects) library functions which enables Visual Basic to access Microsoft CryptoAPI.
