  • With increasing the mont of processed information over the network, the importance of database system increases rapidly. There are two types of security system for database, access control and data encryption. However, it is hard to evaluate security of database systems using the Common Criteria(CC) as there is no protection profile(PP) for these systems. In this paper, we propose a protection profile for secure database systems which can be used in formal evaluation using the Common Criteria. The proposed protection profile can be used by both developer and consumer to evaluate security of database systems.

  • Today, it is an information society where a large number of users access and view important data in a large number of information assets as needed. In this complexity, techniques related Identify Management are being applied, in order to verify authorized user access to important information assets and manage of history. But, the ability access to sensitive information using account has the disadvantage of being able to open the way for information to the attacker when it is hijacked. Thus, in this paper, we propose a secure Identify Management System that can control the use of accounts based on the attitude of the account holder, but also enhances the security and does not hinder the convenience.

  • Cloud computing is the concept of providing information technology services on the Internet, such as software, hardware, networking, and storage. These services can be accessed anywhere at any time on a pay-per-use basis. However, storing data on servers is a challenging aspect of cloud computing. This paper utilizes cryptography and access control to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and proper control of access to sensitive data. We propose a model that can protect data in cloud computing. Our model is designed by using an enhanced RSA encryption algorithm and a combination of role-based access control model with extensible access control markup language (XACML) to facilitate security and allow data access. This paper proposes a model that uses cryptography concepts to store data in cloud computing and allows data access through the access control model with minimum time and cost for encryption and decryption.

  • There are various attacks such as tampering, bypassing and spoofing which are caused with system-wide vulnerabilities of Windows operating system. The underlying operating system is responsible for protecting application-space mechanisms against such attacks. This paper provides the implementation of mandatory access control known as multi-level security (MLS) rating with TCSEC-B1 level on th kernel of Windows$^{TM}$. By adding especially the protection feature against tampering memory of processes to the security kernel, this implementation meets the responsibility against system-wide vulnerabilities.

  • IPTV provides their services only for their subscribers who have a eligibility to watch it by using Conditional Access System(CAS). CAS has been servicing their contents for subscribers by using set-top box or cable card so far, but these days, to solve the compatibility between kinds of devices, linkage with other services as DRM and confirming stability, the research of Downloadable CAS(DCAS) is being advanced steadily. On this paper, we analyse the vulnerability of DCAS based on the OpenCable and make up for the vulnerability in DCAS, then proposes to use secure DCAS system for IPTV. Also we show the result of the research and analyse the satisfaction of requirements.

  • Cloud computing technology offers function that share each other computer resource, software and infra structure based on network. Virtualization is a very useful technology for operation efficiency of enterprise's server and reducing cost, but it can be target of new security threat when it is used without considering security. This paper proposes access control mechanism based on MAC(Mandatory Access Control) for cloud convergence that solve various problem that can occur in cloud environment. This mechanism is composed of set of state rules, security characteristics and algorithm. Also, we prove that the machine system with access control mechanism and an initial secure state is a secure system. This policy module of mechanism is expected to not only provide the maintenance but also provide secure resource sharing between virtual machines.

  • E-BLP security model considers the reliability of the processes that are real subjects in systems. This paper deals with the implementation of the E-BLP model for secure embedded systems. Implemented EBSM(E-BLP Based Security Module) consists of three components: identification and authentication, access control and BRC(Dynamic Reliability Check) that checks the process behavior dynamically. Access Control of EBSM ensures unreliable processes not to access the sensitive objects and the DRC detects the buffer overflow attack by normal user. Besides, the performance overhead of the embedded system applying the EBSM is introduced.

  • The secure access the lighting, Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), fire safety, and security control boxes of building facilities is the primary objective of future smart buildings. This paper proposes an authorized user access to the electrical, lighting, fire safety, and security control boxes in the smart building, by using color grid coded optical camera communication (OCC) with face recognition Technologies. The existing CCTV subsystem can be used as the face recognition security subsystem for the proposed approach. At the same time a smart device attached camera can used as an OCC receiver of color grid code for user access authentication data sent by the control boxes to proceed authorization. This proposed approach allows increasing an authorization control reliability and highly secured authentication on accessing building facility infrastructure. The result of color grid code sequence received by the unauthorized person and his face identification allows getting good results in security and gaining effectiveness of accessing building facility infrastructure. The proposed concept uses the encoded user access authentication information through control box monitor and the smart device application which detect and decode the color grid coded informations combinations and then send user through the smart building network to building management system for authentication verification in combination with the facial features that gives a high protection level. The proposed concept is implemented on testbed model and experiment results verified for the secured user authentication in real-time.

  • Union file system is a technology that can be used as a single file system by integrating various files and directories. It has the advantage of maintaining the source file/directory used for integration, so it is used in many applications like container platform. When using the union file system, the user accesses the write-able layer, to which the security technology provided by the operating system can be applied. However, there is a disadvantage in that it is difficult to apply a separate security technology to the source file and directory used to create the union file system. In this study, we intend to propose an access control mechanism to deny security threats to source file/directory that may occur when using the union file system. In order to verify the effectiveness of the access control mechanism, it was confirmed that the access control mechanism proposed in this study can protect the source file/directory while maintaining the advantages of the union file system.

  • IoT (Internet of Things) propels current networked communities into a advanced hyper-connected society/world where uniquely identifiable embedded computing devices are associated with the existing internet infrastructure. Therefore, the IoT services go beyond mere M2M (Machine-to-Machine communications) and should be able to empower users with more flexible communication capabilities over protocols, domains, and applications. In addition, The access control in IoT need a differentiated methods from the traditional access control to increase a security and dependability. In this paper, we describe implementation and design of the capability token based system for secure access control in IoT environments. In the proposed system, Authorities are symbolized into concepts of the capability tokens, and the access control systems manage the tokens, creation, (re)delegation and revocation. The proposed system is expected to decrease the process time of access control by using capability tokens.
