  • In traditional approach, enterprise-wide consistent security policy enforcement for applications is very difficult task. Therefore, industry is now moving towards new unified enterprise application security concept that consist of centralized authentication and authorization mechanism. The eXtensible Access Control Markup Language (XACML); an XML-based standard defined by OASIS, is most suitable choice which can support centralized, role based, context aware access control mechanism. It is designed to provide universal standard for writing authorization policies and access control request/response language for managing access to the resources. This paper includes a brief overview on XACML and discusses its benefits, limitations and a data flow process. We propose a new generic access control architecture that supports enterprise wide centralized application level access control mechanism using XACML. The other benefits which can be achieved through this architecture are, reduce adnministration cost and complexity, support of heterogeneous computing platforms, centralized monitoring system, automatic fail over, scalability and availability, open standard based solution and secure communication.

  • Recently, mobile traffic has increased tremendously due to the deployment of smart devices such as smartphones and smart tablets. Android is the world's most powerful mobile platform in smartphone. The Android operating system provide seamless access to many applications and access to the Internet. It would involve network packet sharing communicated over the network. Network packet contains a lot of useful information about network activity that can be used as a description of the general network behaviours. To study what is the behaviours of the network packet, an effective tools such as network packet analyzers software used by network administrators to capture and analyze the network information. In this research, more understanding about network information in live network packet captured from Android smartphone is the target and identify the best network analyzer software.

  • This paper presents a behavioral data monitoring system based on WAP(wireless application protocol) service for the 24-hour continuous health state monitoring of the elderly and the disabled. The developed system transmits a character message to the predefined mobile cell phone through SMS service when an emergency state takes place. Simultaneously, the image captured by a CCD camera is transmitted to the server computer installed WAP service program. Then, the user of the cell phone who received he message can access the server and open the transmitted image. This system can be used for the effective health monitoring of the elderly and disabled.

  • Recent trends require that access to the device/equipment information be provided from several locations or anywhere in the enterprise. One example is virtual machine/manufacturing system (VMS) where predictive maintenance is performed both on factory floor and in remote site through internet [1]. Internet access is increasingly available and affordable, and along with the "internet" is the backbone of modern enterprise data networks. Typical functions of such a system includes monitoring and control for diagnosis and remedy action in realizing preventive maintenance.(omitted)

  • Safety system including location monitoring system for blasting workers was studied. Positioning performance of the location monitoring system was highly dependent on communication protocol and the number of access points in the blasting cell. RTLS(Real Time Location System) is an important technology to develop the location information of workers and variously used to enhance workers safety. Location monitoring system with Cell-ID and RSSI wireless communication technology was verified to have a proper positioning performance for the steel block application.

  • SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) is applied to develop a web based monitoring system for manufacturing processes. SNMP agents in manufacturing facilities collects monitoring data from machine controllers and send them to a web-server to be stored in a database by an SNMP managing agent. Clients can access these data using any web-browser. This study developed these agents and MIB (Management Information Base), a protocol to represent the status of machines, that can be used appropriately to monitor manufacturing processes.

  • Cloud computing provides access to big volumes of data and computational resources through various services. Cloud computing also supports to process these volumes of data using set of computers. Cloud computing can satisfy resource requirements through virtualization technology. Eucalyptus is an open source cloud computing environment helps the users to setup their own private cloud based on virtualization. In this paper, monitoring of virtual machines is explained with the eucalyptus cloud setup.

  • Existing web based information service system solutions show limitations in mobile information services, as well as problems such as uncertain error messages, and difficulty providing swift assistance or real time emergency support. In order to solve these deficiencies, a realtime wireless remote control system has been designed and implemented in this thesis, which is capable of managing and monitoring remote systems using mobile communication devices (Mobile Phone, PDA, Smart Phone) for realtime control. Proposed systems are applied at remote places, for instance 'office building', and a nursery school like 'kindergarten'. In the case of implemented at office building, it can be managing and controlling at real time all sorts of the sensor information that are installed at office building system environment through wire(web environment) or wireless(mobile device). In the other case at kindergarten system that are providing the real-time wireless remote control and monitoring system can be monitoring activity of kindergarten children with a mobile phone of authentication user. The security functions of proposed systems include mobile device user authentication and target system access control. The proposed systems allow real-time user authentication function and system access control function that improve the security of resource administrators and mobile device users, and provides not only uninterrupted services, but also real time mobile service environments.

  • The current facility condition monitoring has disadvantages such as a slow inspection cycle, a risk of human casualties, and the need for a lot of time and money as the size of the structure is larger, because human access is required with limited use. Drones can reduce the risk of human casualties due to their good accessibility, and can compensate for the shortcomings of the current method by enabling monitoring on a wide scale. The goal of this study is to provide the current domestic monitoring process through benchmarking according to the recent research case of the US Department of Transportation (DOT) to suggest a process suitable for the domestic situation and the direction of future improvement measures.

  • The Recently there has been a growing interest in health care due to the COVID-19 situation. In this paper, we intend to develop a healthcare monitoring system to provide users with smart healthcare systems in line with the healthcare 3.0 era. The system consists of a wireless network between various sensors, Android smartphones, and OLEDs using Bluetooth, and through this, a health care monitoring system capable of collecting user's biometric information and managing health by receiving data values of sensors connected to Arduino. In conclusion, the user's BPM value was calculated using the heart rate sensor, and the exercise intensity can be adjusted through this. In addition, a step derivation algorithm is implemented using an acceleration sensor, and calorie consumption can be measured using the step and weight values. As such, the heart rate, step count, calorie consumption data can be transmitted to a smartphone application through a Bluetooth module and output, and can be output to an OLED for users who are not easy to access the smartphone. This healthcare monitoring system can be applied to various groups and technologies.
