In present measurement of moisture contents is used as one of method for estimating degradation of transformer. Most of people use Karl-Fischer titration method for detection moisture contents but this measurement is inconvenient method because we must analyze transformer oil-paper after dismounting transformer and sampling in field. Therefore we don't directly investigate them in field. In this paper we will introduce Recovery Voltage Method(RVM) that is new method for estimating measurement in field though dismounting facility. For measure of moisture contents using RVM in accordance with accelerated thermal aging we have made experimental test cell and aged at a temperature up to 140$^{\circ}C$ for 300 hours. And we have been measured at intervals of 100 hours using RVM 5462 made in fetter company.
Thermal analysis properties and chemical structure of carbon fiber/epoxy composites under environmental exposure were examined using an accelerated aging tester which can simulate real weather conditions such as temperature, moisture and ultraviolet. The composite specimens were exposed to combined environmental factors up to 3000 hours. Thermal analysis properties and chemical structure of the composites were evaluated with various exposure times through Modulated DSC and FTIR. According to the results of Modulated DSC, the glass transition temperature increased as exposure time increased due to the formation of network structures in the composites. Also endotherm peaks of enthalpy relaxation related to physical aging that can affect the properties of the composites were observed as exposure time increased. From the results of FTIR, it was found that the location of the peaks was little affected by exposure time, but the intensity of the peaks slightly decreased as exposure time increased due to the curing reaction in the epoxy group.

The accelerated thermal aging of a CSPE were carried out for 0, 80.82, 161.63 days at $100^{\circ}C$, which are equal to 0, 40 and 80 years, respectively. The volume electrical resistivities of the non-accelerated thermally aged CSPE and the accelerated thermally aged CSPE for 40y and 80y were $9.620{\times}10^{12}{\sim}1.246{\times}10^{13}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$, $5.066{\times}10^{12}{\sim}7.576{\times}10^{12}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ and $7.195{\times}10^{12}{\sim}9.208{\times}10^{12}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ at room temperature, respectively. The dielectric constant of the non-accelerated thermally aged CSPE and the accelerated thermally aged CSPE for 40y and 80y were 3.355~4.030, 2.996~3.963 and 3.020~4.776 at room temperature, respectively. After seawater and freshwater flooding, the volume electrical resistivity of the CSPE trend slightly upward according to drying day at room temperature. After seawater flooding, the dielectric constant of the accelerated thermally aged CSPE were not measured. After seawater flooding, bright open pores of the accelerated thermally aged CSPE were partly transferred to dark close pores due to salinity. After freshwater flooding, dark close pores of the accelerated thermally aged CSPE were partly transferred to bright open pores because salinity of them is decreased. An insulation property of a cable in NPPs was decreased because of the seawater flooding, and an insulation property of them was recovered through the freshwater flooding. As a result, it is considered that an insulation property of a contaminated cable through Tsunami can be recovered if it is cleaned quickly.

The effect of accelerated weathering(UV) on three type of ethylene propylene diene monomer(EPDM) composite used for higher voltage insulator were investigated by weather-emoter. For weatherability of EPDM composite, surface resistance, dielectric breakdown strength, change of contact angle, surface composition were measured according to UV accelerated weathering time. From the resort of the measurement of surface resistivity, contact angle of EPDM composite decreased and showed chalking and cracking phenomenon when UV weathweing time was for 1500 h and 2000 h. The analysis of surface atomic composition indicated that surface aluminiu(Al) content was detected due to chalking phenomenon after 1500 h of UV weathering, Oxygen content of all composite increased due to the oxidation.

It is caused that insulation paper, which had got a lot of thermal stress by over-load after installation, should have been deteriorated in electrical and mechanical characteristics. Beside, insulation material is decreased the insulating property and accelerated aging of them in case of dielectric loss when transformers are manufactured with some moisture or transformers would have been them because of moisture-permeation, Therefore, in this study we experienced the influence of moisture content in case of the thermal aged insulation paper. we have measured tan ${\delta}$ and breakdown voltage in the ratio of paper' moisture content before the aging and then taken the same tests again after insulation paper thermally accelerating-aged. There is a purpose to gain data for a life-design and to establish aging mechanism in order to continuously study life expectancy of the insulation paper.
In this paper, the inter-lamina shear strength (ILSS) of multi-wall carbon nanotube (MWNT) reinforced carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) and thin-ply composites were verified under low earth orbit (LEO) space environment. CFRP, MWNT reinforced CFRP, thin-ply CFRP and MWNT reinforced thin-ply CFRP were tested after aging by using accelerated ground simulation equipment. The used ground simulation equipment can simulate high vacuum ($2.5{\times}10^{-6}torr$), atomic oxygen (AO, $9.15{\times}10^{14}atoms/cm^2{\cdot}s$), ultraviolet light (UV, 200 nm wave length) and thermal cycling ($-70{\sim}100^{\circ}C$) simultaneously. The duration of aging experiment was twenty hours, which is an equivalent duration to that of STS-4 space shuttle condition. After the aging experiment, ILSS were measured at room temperature ($27^{\circ}C$), high temperature ($100^{\circ}C$) and low temperature ($-100^{\circ}C$) to verify the effect of operation temperature. The MWNT and thin-ply shows good improvement of ILSS at ground condition especially with the thin-ply. And after LEO exposure large degradation of ILSS was observed at MWNT added composite due to the thermal cycle. And the degradation rate was much higher under the high temperature condition. But, at the low temperature condition, the ILSS was largely recovered due to the matrix toughening effect.

The accelerated thermal aging of CSPE (chlorosulfonated polyethylene) was carried out for 33.64 and 67.27 days at 110[$^{\circ}C$], equivalent to 40 and 80 years of aging at 50[$^{\circ}C$], respectively. These samples were referred to as CSPE-0y, CSPE-40y and CSPE-80y, respectively. As the accelerated thermally aged years of the CSPE increase, the insulation resistance[$\Omega$] at 20[Hz], 500[Hz], and 2[KHz], and the percent elongation [%EL] of the CSPE decrease. However, the dissipation factor($tan{\delta}$) at 20[Hz], 500[Hz], and 2[KHz], the apparent density[$g/cm^3$], the glass transition temperature and the melting temperature of the CSPE were increased. The period of time that the voltage has to be applied until electric breakdown of the CSPE-0y is longer than that of the CSPE-40y, and the CSPE-80y, but the dielectric strength of the CSPE-80y is lower than that of the CSPE-0y and the CSPE-40y. The differential temperatures after the AC and DC voltages are applied to CSPE-0y, CSPE-40y and CSPE-80y are 0.026~0.028[$^{\circ}C$], 0.030~0.042[$^{\circ}C$], 0.018~0.045[$^{\circ}C$], respectively. The variations of temperature for the AC voltage are higher than those for the DC voltage when an AC voltage is applied to CSPE-0y, CSPE-40y and CSPE-80y. It is found that the dielectric loss owing to the dissipation factor[$tan{\delta}$] is related to the electric dipole conduction current. It is ascertained that the ionic (electron or hole) leakage current is increased by the separation of the branch chain of CSPE polymer from the main chain of the polyethylene as a result of thermal stress due to accelerated thermal aging as well as by conducting ions such as $Na^+$, $Cl^-$, $Mg^{2+}$, $SO_4^{2-}$, $Ca^{2+}$ and $K^+$ after seawater soaking.
The long-tenn exposure of polymeric composite materials to extreme-use environments, such as pressure, temperature, moisture, and load cycles, results in changes in the original properties of the material. In this study, the effect of combined environmental factors such as ultraviolet ray, high temperature and high moisture on mechanical and thermal analysis properties of glass fabric and phenolic composites are evaluated through a 2.5 KW accelerated environmental aging tester. The environmental factors such as temperature, moisture and ultraviolet ray applied of specimens. A xenon-arc lamp is utilized for ultraviolet light and exposure time of up to 3000 hours are applied. Several types of specimens - tensile, bending, and shear specimens that are warp direction and fill direction are used to investigate the effects of environmental factors on mechanical properties of the composites. Mechanical degradations for tensile, bending and shear properties are evaluated through a Universal Testing Machine (UTM). Also, storage shear modulus, loss shear modulus and tan a are measured as a function of exposure time through a Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer (DMA). From the experimental results, changes in material properties of glass fabric and phenolic composites are shown to be slightly degraded due to combined environmental effects.

To evaluate the aging of a rubber pad in power window switch which is the part of a vehicle, the accelerated thermal aging test of rubber pad material is performed. Finite element analysis was performed using the nonlinear material constants of the rubber pad to calculate the operating force, and the Arrhenius relationship was derived from the aging temperature and time. The aging test was performed at 150, 180, 210, or 240 ℃ for 1 to 60 days. When the operating force of the rubber pad is changed by 10% from the initial value, the service life is expected to be 113 years, which is much longer than the life of the vehicle. This indicates that the aging life of the rubber pad is sufficiently safe and the operating force of the rubber pad during the life of the vehicle (20 years) was decreased by approximately 8.4%. By examining the correlation between the shear elastic modulus and operating force calculated from finite element analysis under each aging test condition, the changes in the operating force of the rubber pad and the shear elastic modulus showed good linear relationship. The aging life could be predicted by the change in shear elastic modulus and a process for predicting the aging life of automotive power window switch rubber pad parts is described herein.
Within serviced period of time in transformer, thermal stress is the most influential parameter affecting the aging behavior of an insulation system. The thermal stress on the insulation system may occur from operation in a high temperature environment due to Joule's heat at winding coils. This paper describes a development of capacitive sensor and preventive diagnosis techniques for electrical insulating oil, widely used for power and distribution transformer. To survey the dielectric properties of the virgin and used mineral insulating oil, we utilized the highly precise measuring system of KRISS. And the results were used to determine the design factors of the sensor. To evaluate diagnosis by the sensor, we performed accelerated aging test about insulating oils. The condition of aged specimens were investigated by measurements of relative permittivity i.e. capacitance change by capacitive sensor.
