  • Objectives: The study investigated the difficulties experienced by endodontics researchers around the world in conducting studies and writing papers. Materials and Methods: A survey consisting of 18 questions on the difficulties experienced by endodontics researchers in performing studies and writing papers was e-mailed to academics in the field of endodontics working at 202 universities. The independent risk factors were analyzed using binary logistic regression at a significance level of 0.05. Results: A total of 581 individuals (10.7%) agreed to participate in the study. Almost half the participants (48.2%) reported that they had received some type of training in conducting studies and writing papers. In response to the question, "Do you get help from a statistician to perform the statistical analyses of your studies?," 77.1% answered "yes." Around 40% of the participants stated that the need to obtain ethical approval negatively affected their desire to conduct studies. The participants' regions had no effect on the reported difficulties associated with writing papers in English or conducting statistical analyses (p > 0.05). Most participants (81.8%) reported difficulties in writing the Discussion section, regardless of their region, academic degrees, or years of experience. Conclusions: The participants stated they experienced difficulties in many areas, such as conducting statistical analyses, finding new ideas, and writing in English. Engaging in a detailed examination of ethics committee rules, expanding biostatistics education, increasing the number of institutions providing research funding, and increasing the number of endodontics journals can increase the enthusiasm of endodontics researchers to publish papers.

  • Purpose: This study analyzed the research published in KCI-registered journals related to healthcare marketing for the last 27 years from 1995 to 2022 to identify academic research trends, the specificity of the healthcare field and to suggest future research directions. Methodology: A total of 213 articles were selected for this study, and a descriptive analysis of the period and journals was conducted, as well as the analysis of research topics and keywords from the perspective of marketing strategy factors and performance factors. Findings: A total of 213 articles related to healthcare marketing have been published in the last 27 years. The descriptive analysis showed a steady quantitative increase, but the STP field showed a decreasing trend, and many papers were mainly published in the Korean Journal of Hospital Management. According to the analysis of research topics and keywords, STP field will be hard to become an active research topic in the future, and even in the 7P field, only Product, People, and Process can be researched according to medical law regulations, and other factors such as PX & WOM, CRM, and the Internet fields are expected to be research topics. Implications: Through the analysis of research trends over the past 27 years, we were able to identify the specificity of the healthcare marketing field in Korea and suggest future research directions based on this.

  • Objectives This study aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of electroacupuncture for rotator cuff disorder. Methods We searched nine online databases (PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Chinese Academic Journals, Korean studies Information Service System, Rsearch Information Sharing Service, ScienceON, KMbase, Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System) and two related journals up to April 2024 to identify randomized controlled trials that applied electroacupuncture to rotator cuff disorder. Selected studies were analyzed for risk of bias using the Cochrane risk of bias tool, and a meta-analysis was performed with RevMan version 5.4.1. Results Out of 175 studies, eleven randomized controlled trials were selected for final analysis. Most studies showed that electroacupuncture had effect on rotator cuff disorder. In the meta-analysis, electroacupuncture combined with rehabilitation treatment was significantly more effective than rehabilitation treatment alone in improving visual analog scale (p<0.00001). Almost studies did not report any side effects or adverse reactions to electroacupuncture treatment. Conclusions This systematic review suggests that electroacupuncture is an effective treatment for pain management in rotator cuff disorder. However, the lack of adverse effect reporting and a high risk of bias indicate the need for high-quality randomized controlled trials from various countries.

Cultural and Historical Geography in Korea took a great leap forward both in quantity and in quality. The number of articles in the journal increased substantially, and the range of research theme and methodology extended in a great deal. It was also in the late 1980s that the Association of Korean Cultural and Historical Geographers was organized in Seoul, Korea, and this association began to publish a professional journal named Cultural and Historical Geography once a year. In the 1990s, single-authored books dealing with Korean Cultural and Historcial Geography began to appear in public as textbooks or research monographs. These books are expected to speed up the spread of Cultural and Historical Geography in Korea. If it continues to grow further both in quantity and in quality as it has been, Cultural and Historical Geography in Korea will be able to stand as an independent academic field in the future. Until then, however, it cannot but avoid its mission to contribute to an integrated development of human geography in Korea. It has already gained not only its own merit in the humanistic perspective but also its own strength in its synthetic understanding.

Analysis on the trend of research was done through result variances used in academic fields, planning researches, main themes and mediative studies. Of the 74 studies, 28 were national dissertations (38.6%) and 46 were articles in academic journals (61.4%), 37 of which were performed by nursing departments (50.0%). Additionally, 45 were quantitative (60.8%) and 29 were qualitative (39.2%) and descriptive research, and 22 in total(29.9%) took the most of the part of quantitative research. Key concepts were categorized into nursing, environment, health, and humans, which are the paradigms of nursing, while papers in all other categories were categorized as etc. Most themes of research were based on social psychological aspects of the health domain and the human domain. Among the eight mediative research studies, seven focused on postnatal married immigrant women and the remaining one focused on postnatal married immigrant women and infants. In the categorized research planning quantitative research took larger part than qualitative research and in quantitative research descriptive study took larger part than experimental research. In the case of experimental research, studies usually focused on married immigrant women who had experienced pregnancy and childbirth. Overall, the results indicated that development and provision of new nursing mediation programs are needed, not only for married immigrant women, but also for their families.

  • The 46th Davos Forum of the World Economic Forum (WEF) predicts the continued growth of the 4th industry in the future. Currently, the 4th industry is attracting attention in various academic and practical fields. As a core technology of the 4th industry, Big Data is regarded as a major resource to lead the 4th industrial revolution along with artificial intelligence. As the growing interest in Big Data, researches on it are actively being done. However, literature studies on existing Big Data are focused on qualitative research, and quantitative research is insufficient. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the big data research flow in MIS field and to make academic thirst for quantification. This study has collected 145 abstracts of big data papers published in major journals in MIS field and confirmed that a majority of papers are published in Decision Support Systems Journal. Text mining and text network analysis were performed only for DSS journals to eliminate bias. As a result of the analysis, it was found out that researches on combining big data in the management field between 2012 and 2014, and researches on system development and analysis method for using big data from 2015 to 2017 were conducted.

  • Web accessibility is presented as a legal obligation to ensure users can access and use information and functions equally in the domestic public website sector. This study introduces the researcher network based on social network analysis (SNA) in order to show the citation relationship by identifying the network among researches in the field of web accessibility. Based on the analysis of the relationship and citation of academic researchers in the domestic web accessibility field, confirm the process of creating a research network. It is a visualization element that shows the citation relationship as well as the relationship and citation form between the studies as a network. Through the process of creating the network, and it can be confirmed and can be usefully used for future academic research network analysis. It is meaningful in terms of analysis for about 17 years from January 2000 to March 2017, a total of 50 papers published in journals registered by the National Research Foundation of Korea and candidate journals. By combining the evaluation metrics for each researcher, evaluation target, evaluation method, and evaluation result for web accessibility, and applying weights, identify the research direction and evaluation research trends in Korea's web accessibility field related to the relevant field and web accessibility evaluation research trends, and related to the researcher trend network.
