ATM가입자 망 기술

  • 본 고에서는 광대역 통신망에서 가입자를 광대역 기간통신망에 접속시키기 위해 새로운 구축 개념을 가지고 대두되고 있는 가입자 액세스망(broadband local access network)에 대하여 소개한다. 이를 위해 먼저 광대역통신망에서의 가입자 전송 기술, 망 구축 기술 및 서비스 구조 개념에 대하여 간략히 살펴보고, 여기에서 광대역 가입자 액세스망의 역할을 분석한다. 다음으로 CCITT에서 92년도 White 권고안으로 제정될 관련 권고안을 정리한다. 이를 토대로 가입자 액세스망의 기능적 요구사항과 설계시 고려되어야 할 사항을 살펴보고 국내에서 개발될 광대역 가입자 액세스망의 일반적인 설계목표와 요구사항 들을 살펴본다.

  • 본 논문에서는 서로 다른 네트워크간의 다양한 프로토콜과 이종의 트래픽을 동시에 처리할 수 있는 네트워크용 SoC (System-on-a-Chip) 프로세서를 구현하였다. 제작된 네트워크 SoC 프로세서는 ARM 프로세서 코어와 ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) 블록, 10/100 Mbps 이더넷 볼록, 스케쥴러, UART 등을 이용하였고 각 블록은 AM8A (Advanced Microcontroller Bus Architecture) 버스로 연결하였다. SoC 프로세서는 CADENCE사의 VerilogHDL을 이용하여 설계하였고 0.35$\mu\textrm{m}$ 셀 라이브러리를 이용하여 검증하였다. 구현된 칩은 총 게이트수가 312,000개이며 칠의 최대 동작 주파수는 50MHz 이다.

  • 초고속 인터넷 서비스가 널리 보급된 상황에서 서비스 품질과 콘텐츠의 사용 대역 증가 현상이 날로 가속화되고 있다. 이에 따라 전송속도가 거리에 제한받지 않는 광통신 기술이 품질과 대역 조건을 만족시키는 가입자 액세스망 기술로 각광 받고 있다. 현재는 점대점(point-to-Point) 광통신 기술을 이용한 광 대역서비스가 제공되고 있으나, 밀집 지역과 분산 지역 그리고 음영 지역의 각 가입자 단까지 고가의 광선로를 포설해야 하는 경제적 부담을 주고 있다. PON(Passive Optical Network) 기술은 점대점 광통신 기술에서 제기되는 경제적 비효율성을 극복하고, 더 나아가 FTTC, FTTB에서 FTTH로의 진화를 용이하게 하는 점대다점(point-to-multipoint) 광통신 기술이다. PON 기술은 ATM 기반의 B-PON(Broadband-PON) 방식과, Ethernet 기반의 E-PON(Ethernet-PON) 방식이 현재 상용화 단계에 있으며, 이 방식들은 상하향 데이터 전송을 위해 단일 파장을 사용하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 PON 기술동향 및 발전전망에 대해 알아보고, B-PON 및 E-PON 기술 분석한 뒤, 국내 환경에 가장 적합한 서비스 제공 방안을 제안하고자 한다.

  • Lately development of network around Internet expands range of data traffic to multimedia information, and so for the guarantee of multimedia services end-to-end QoS(Quality of Service) must service because comparing with existing Internet service can not support For satisfying those QoS requirements, network have to guarantee not only network on parameter, such as delay, jitter, throughput but also system resources like CPU utilization, memory usage. Therefore it is urgent to develop QoS based middleware to distribute multimedia data and maximize network utilization in the limited resource environment. And it must be necessary of network to provide end-to-end QoS(Quality of Service) for multimedia applications. Multimedia applications want that QoS which satisfy their own service properties be guaranteed Then, We must analyze those necessary QoS requirements md define QoS parameter which specify as two viewpoint, user's and network's perspective. Therefore network provider supplying network for usual user and university, enterprise must want to find about their own network performance and problem. It is essential for network manager to want to use a tool like this. On the basis of technique about QoS test-bed in the AIM network, We studied on the method of QoS measurement and management about end-to-end connection in the Internet. We measured network status about end-to-end connection and analyze the result of performance.

  • In this paper, the conditions on the number of required copies of a self-routing network with and without extra stages in back-to-back manner are presented respectively for a nonblocking $Multi-Log_2N$ multiconnection network. Actually the obained results hold regardless of connection patterns, i.e., whether a network deploys on-to-one connections or multiconnections. Thus open problems on the nonblocking condition for a multi $Multi-Log_2N$ multiconnection network are solved. Interestingly some of the given formulas comprise the Benes network and the Canto network as a special case repectively. A novel switching system architecture deploying a distributed calls-distribution algorithm is provided to design a nonblocking $Multi-Log_2N$ photonic switching network using a directional coupler. And a directional couplex based call holding demultiplexer is introduced to hold a call until blocking disappears in a switching network and let it enter to a network, provided that the number of switching networks is less than that of required switching networks for a nonblocking $Multi-Log_2N$ network.

  • This paepr proposes a shared medium access control protocol for hgih-speed multimedia services of distributed subscriber home and small-sized business ATM networks. This protocol offers not only global fairness for the whole network at the same time, but also local fairness for different prioritytraffics on each node. Considering that the future B-ISDN service si a mixture of real and non-real time traffic data, this protocol is designed to accommodate the real time service, by controlling the priority of the real and non-real time data. The simulation results show that the proposed protocol has better performance than the other protocols.

  • In this paper, we propose a new hybrid ARQ scheme to consider real-time and non real-time services in a wireless ATM network. Real-time and non-real-time services require different error control schemes according to each service characteristics. Therefore, in the next generation mobile communication environments where these service scenarios should be deployed, hybrid ARQ scheme using RCPC code with variable coding rate becomes one of the most suitable solutions. Because the variable coding rate is applied according to traits of transmitted frame and channel status, hybrid ARQ scheme using RCPC code can expect UEP effect. The UEP scheme does not apply equal error protection level to all information, but does high error protection level to more important information. In Our scheme, UEP of high error protection level is applied to real-time service, and UEP of low error protection and retransmission techniques are applied to non real-time service. We show that the proposed hybrid ARQ scheme improves channel utilization efficiency and yields high error correction behaviors.

  • Recently, as Internet and its services grow rapidly, IETF(Internet Engineering Task Force) introduced a new switching mechanism, MPLS(Multi-Protocol Label Switching), to solve the problem of the scalability in Internet backbone. In this paper, we implemented the LSR loaded with VC-merging function, which causes LSR's management cost to be significantly reduced. We propose a new VC-merge function which supports differentiated services. In case of network congestion in the output buffer of each core LSR, appling link polices to the output modules of the LSR using the EPD algorithm can prevent the buffer from being overflowed. Simulation was performed for Diffserv by using multiple traffic models and investigated the impact of VC-merge method compared to non VC-merge method. The proposed switch is modeled in VHDL and fabricated using the SAMSUNG $0.5{\mu}m$ SOG process.

  • Automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) is the core technology of communication, navigation and surveillance/air traffic management (CNS/ATM), automatically broadcasts its own position information using GNSS and has an advantage of lower geological constraints and faster update speed compared with legacy radar systems. EUROCONTROL defined all purpose structured eurocontrol surveillance information exchange (ASTERIX) CAT.021. ASTERIX CAT.021 is modified several times, but it has compatibility issues with previous version of it. In this paper, we have designed an efficient message processing module regardless of the version of ASTERIX CAT.021. This implemented module generates patterns to collect messages received from the network, after that, received messages are processed in the routine that is defined in accordance with the patterns.
