This paper is to verify that 2-state MMPP Model conform to ATM VBR traffic characteristics by measuring and analyzing real-time VBR traffic in KT's ATM network. As a result, we validated the fact that real-time VBR traffic of ATM network cannot be apply to MMPP model and must be represented by previously general On-Off Model with characteristics as follows: arrival rate of On state (λ$_1$) is deterministic, arrival rate of Off state (λ$_2$) is zero, and two transition rate (T$_1$,T$_2$) is only random variable. As research results are to handle real traffic, these results can be used to all ATM network traffic model with traffic management function such as KT's ATM network.

본 고는 ATM 교환 시스템 연구 계발 단계의 품질 보증 활동의 일환인 시스템 시험 평가에 적용할 목적으로 연구된 것으로서, ATM 시스템 시험 평가에 필요한 기초 요소, 에러의 범위, 시험 평가의 개념 등을 체계화하고 정의하여 ATM 시험 평가에 대한 기반을 구축하였으며 시험 평가에 대한 구체적인 방법을 제시하였다. 이 체계화된 시험 평가 방법의 적용은 연구 개발 단계의 ATM 교환 시스템에 대한 지속적인 품질 향상을 이루며, 안정성, 신뢰성을 갖는 고품질 ATM 교환 시스템이 확보되도록 할 것이다.

라우터를 기반으로 하는 IP망은 트래픽제어 기능을 제공하지 못하고 특히 QoS의 기능을 제공하지 못하고 있다. 이러한 단점을 ATM이 해결할 수 있으며 이는 오랜 기간 진행되어온 ATM 망에 대한 투자와 전국적인 ATM 백본망 구축을 해온 기간 통신사업자틀 통해 ATM의 장점을 이용한 상품의 차별화에 의해 어느정도 해결될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 OoS의 관점에서 ATM 서비스 차별화 전략을 IP 망과 비교하여 제시하고 망통합에 의한 차별화 전략을 기존 통신망과 연계하여 인터넷 서비스 제공을 위한 전략을 제시한다.

Realization of the economical, reliable, and efficient ATM interface block becomes an important key to development of the ATM switching system when we consider new issues raised recently. In this paper, we summarize requirements for the ATM interface block and present the UNI (User Network Interface)/NNI (Network Node Interface) architecture to meet these requirements. We also evaluate the performance of the multiplexer adopting the various multiplexing schemes and service disciplines. For ATM UNI/NNI interface technologies, we have developed a new policing device using the priority encoding scheme. It can reduce the decision time for policing significantly. We have also designed a new spacer that can space out the clumped cell stream almost perfectly. This algorithm guarantees more than 99 % conformance to the negotiated peak cell rate. Finally, we propose the interface architecture for accommodation of the ABR (Available Bit Rate) transfer capability. The proposed structure that performs virtual source and virtual destination functions as well as a switch algorithm can efficiently accommodate the ABR service.

In the forthcoming public ATM/B-ISDN, the efficient resource management with pre-planned transit networking which public domain NNI signaling is essential to maintain high network utilization and to assure QoS to the multimedia service users. For this purpose the transit networks must be managed according to the bearer service capability which is defined by ATM Forum and ITU-T. In this paper, we introduce an implementation of ATM transit networking with ATM VP-XC(Virtual Path cross-connect) and US(Network Management System). The functions of ATM VP-XC and NMS have been simulated with OPNET 6.1 modules. We implemented the F4 OAM functions of ATM VP connection according to the ITU-T 1.610 recommendation. Also, the ATM VP transit networking is managed by the NMS according to the connection management architecture of the TWN(Telecommunications Management Network) /TINA ( Telecommunications Information Networking Architecture).

광대역 멀티미디어 응용에 필수적인 높은 대역폭과 다양한 서비스 품질(QoS)을 지원할 수 있는 ATM 망의 초기 도입 단계로서 기존 LAN 환경의 데이터 통신 응용들을 우선적으로 수용하기 위한 노력이 국제 표준화 기관들을 중심으로 활발히 진행되었다. IETF(Internet Engineer Task Force)의 IP over ATM(IPOA)과 ATM 포럼의 LAN Emulation(LANE)은 초기에 제안된 대표적인 규격이다. 이 고전적 모델은 이미 많은 곳에 구축되어 있으며 이들 망은 점차 확장되어 서로의 모델간의 통신을 필요로 하고 있다. 그러나 제 3계층에서 연동하는 IETF와 제 2계층에서 연동하는 ATM 포럼의 시각 차이로 인해 두 모델간의 통신은 복잡한 경로를 통해야만 가능하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기존의 망 구조를 유지하면서 효율적이고 경제적으로 서로 다른 두 모델간의 통신을 할 수 있는 ATM BRouter를 이용한 방법을 제안하고 제안된 방법에 사용될 ATM BRouter의 구성 및 기능, 구현에 관한 내용을 기술한다.

멀티미디어 초고속정보통신망 구축을 위한 가장 적합한 통신방식은 ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Model)으로 음성,영상, 데이터를 실시간, 비실시간 데이터로 구분하여 복합적으로 전송할 수있다. ATM 망은 유선 ATM망과 무선 ATM망으로 나누어지는데 무선 ATM 망의 가장 큰 차이점은 이동성과 전송 환경의 특성으로 발생하는 오류 확률이다. 따라서 무선 ATM 망에서 증가된 오류율을 유선 ATM망 수준으로 감소시키는 것이 매우 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 무선전송환경의 버스트오류에 효과적인 인터리빙 기법을 무선 전송단의 한정된 대역폭에 할당되는 ATM 셀의 가상 회선/경로의 수만감소시켜 일반 ATM 셀과의 연동성을 보장하는 인터리빙 수정 셀 방법을 제안하고 이의 성능을 분석한다. 분석결과 본 논문에서 제안한 방법을 사용하는 경우, 기존 셀에 추가되는 오버헤더 없이 전송성능이 향상되었으며, HARQ(Hybrid Automatic Request)를 적용했을 때 불가능한 실시간 데이터서비스도 가능한 것으로 나타났다.

In B-ISDN, to realize ATM, the optimum control method of multi-media traffic must be proposed. Because there is not the traffic model of multi-media to make clear, the realization of optimum ATM congestion control is very difficult. In this paper, the traffic model is assumed to be slowly time-variable non-linear function and for real-time prediction of it, new model which is composed with parallel triple neural networks is proposed. And the simulation to predict assumed ATM traffic is executed. From the result, it's capability is shown that the proposed neural network model can be used in ATM congestion control.

본 논문에서는 광대역통합국가망에서 ATM-Metro 서비스의 망 구조 및 서비스 제공 방식을 분석한다. ATM-Metro 서비스를 제공함에 있어서 존재하는 보안 취약점 및 보안 공격을 분석하며, 이를 기반으로 안전하게 ATM-Metro 서비스를 제공하기 위한 일반적인 보안 강화 방안을 제시하고, ATM 접속 방식과 이더넷 접속 방식의 ATM 구간에서 보안 기능을 강호하기 위한 보안 모델을 제시한다. 또한 ATM-Metro Ethernet 구간에서 기본적인 보안 기능을 제공할 수 있는 VLAN 적용 방안을 제시하고, ATM-Metro서비스 전구간에서 보안성을 강화할 수 있는 방안을 제시한다.

As we move into the aging society, social efforts to improve the IADL of the elderly are getting bigger. In this study, elderly people were taught using tablet PC - based contents in order to make ATM more convenient. The ATM contents used are the educational contents for the tablet PC developed in the same way as the ATM interface used in the actual bank. After the elderly used the content, they evaluated the usability of the content.
