The samples were prepared with hydroxyapatite(HAp) powder and Polycaboxylate (P.C/HAp=10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 $wt\%$). The hydroxyapatite green body with Polycaboxylate were obtained by compaction and drying at room temperature for 3hrs. The higher mechanical properties were observed in HAp sample with $35 wt\%$ Polycaboxylate. The average compressive ana bending strength in HAp with $35 wt\%$ Polycaboxylate are $302 kgf/cm^2$ and $213 kgf/cm^2$ respectively. This strength is higher compare to that of the cortical bone.

The effects of temperature ana additive on the streaming electrification of insulating oil have been investigated. The streaming current increases below the temperature of $45{\sim}50[^{\circ}C]$ and decreases above that. The inverse phenomenon of steaming current is exhibited as the concentration of anti-static agent increases.

The changes of chlorophylls and pH of cooked water were investigated in blanched and fermented cabbage. In blanched cabbage, pheophytins were increased markedly with heating time. This was related to the changes of pH and the effects of heat. One minute blanching accelerated the formation of chlorophyllides by the activation of chlorophyllase. In fermented cabbage, pH and chlorophylls were decreased rapidly at the beginning of fermentation. At the final of fermentation, all chlorophylls and chlorophyllides were converted to pheophytins ana pheophorbides, and the content of pheophytins was higher than the content of pheophorbides. The content of pheophorbides in fermented cabbage was higher than that in blanched cabbage.

The systemic lupus erythematosus is a self-perpetuating disease with multisystem involvement, ie ; skin, kidney, serous membrane, nervous system and other organs. The mortality in SLE is determined primarily by the extent of renal involvement ana the degree of immunosuppression resulting from the therapy. We experienced two cases of lupus nephritis in SLE with clinical, serologic, immunologic and pathologic evaluations. Renal biopsy revealed focal and segmental proliferative glomerulonephritis and mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis. Both patients have been improving with prednisolone on follow-up studies.

To date, more than 150 exo-solar planets have been observed by various methods such as spectroscopic, photometric, astrometric, gravitational lensing, pulsar timing methods. However, all these are indirect methods; they do not directly image the planets. Only free-floating planets or their 'ana-log' have been directly detected so far. Thus the next milestone is the direct imaging of any kinds of planetary mass objects orbiting around normal (young) stars, which might have been associated with protoplanetary disks, the sites of planet formation. I will describe some SUBARU efforts to detect self-luminous young giant planets as companions as well as direct imaging of the protoplanetary disks of ${\~}$100 AU size. The results of near-infrared coronagraphic imaging with adaptive optics are briefly presented on AB Aur, HD 142527, T Tau, and DH Tau. Our results demonstrate the importance of high-resolution (${\~}$0.1 arcsec) direct imaging over indirect observations such as modeling based on spectral energy distributions. The SUBARU observations are a prelude to ALMA from the morphological point of view.

We have constructed and tested a new reflectance spectrometer. Both the radiation source and the detector are embedded on the same side of the cell compartment..Its performance has been compared with that of the conventional absorption spectrometer ('Spectronic 20') using standard solutions of $Cu^{2+}$. The sen-sitivity of the reflectance spectrometer was found to be much higher than that of'Spectrortic 20' over the ana-lytical concentration range of l.00 ${\times}$$10^{-4}$M and 1.00 ${\times}$$10^{-1}$M of $Cu^{2+}$.

In order to obtain the fundamental informations on the nodulation and its effect on growth of pulse crops in volcanic soil, 6 legume crops were planted in the newly reclaimed land of Cheju-do. The attached nodule weight was in the order of senna, pea, soybean (hill), white clover and kidney beans.

We had passed through a serious water pollution with a rapid urbanization and industrialization in the 1960's. Seoul Chunggyechun Sewage Disposal System set uP in 1966 and finished in 1976, as the first sewage disposal system in Korea, had covered only 4 percentage of the sewage disposal system per capita for 10 years. Through holding the Asian Games in 1986 and the Olympic Games in 1988, we expanded the sewage disposal system so that it became increased 18 percentage of the population in 1986. Finally, we have installed about 60 sewage disposal system by 1994 for a large environmental investment which was critically caused by "Phenol Accident in Nakdong River" . Now, the sewage disposal system per capita covers 42 percentage and the activity for water quality improvement is going on rapidly. The method of sewage disposal is mainly "activated sludge process" . However, the technical ability for the sewage disposal has largely developed since 1991 so the "extended aeration process" is used in Po$\v{u}$n, Tangyang, Mun$\v{u}$i, "rotating biological contact process" in Onch$\v{u}$ng, Pukok, and "oxidation ditch process" in K$\v{o}$ch'ana.

Pricing information services, where congestion can threaten the efficient operation of information systems, has been studied in economics and information systems literature, Recent explosion of the Internet ana proliferation of multimedia content over the Internet have rekindled the research interest in designing pricing schedules for differentiated information services, In order for the information system to effectively serve users having heterogeneous needs, pricing rules for discriminated services should be considered. At the same time, when individual users' interest does not align with that of the organization that individual users belong to, organization-wide pricing policy should be devised to improve the value of the services rendered by the system. This paper, using a priority queuing model, addresses the need for such on incentive-compatible pricing for different information services.

Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption ionization Time of Flight (MALDI-TOF) was used for enzymes identification related to B -1,3-glucan synthesis. Agrobacterium sp. ATCC31750 was cultivated with two stage Continuous Stirrer Tank Reactor (CSTR) and the cells were harvested and their protein profiles were analysed by two dimensional electrophoresis. The specific enzyme spot was treated with trypsin and ana lysed by MALDI-TOF to get peptide molecular weight. The peptide molecular weights were matched with Agrobacterium tumefacience's Data Base from the matrix science site, then could identify the avaliable key enzymes. In this study, we identified key metabolite of synthesis of beta-1,3-glucan, such as glucose-6-phosphate isomerase, phosphoglucomutase, B-1,3-glucan synthase and glucokinase, and we also identified uracil phosphoribocyl transferase and Ribosome recycling factor also.
