The total processing time nay vary according to the order of visit when a mobile agent is sequentially migrated to another node. An effective migration algorithm is one in which the processing time is kept to its minimum from the initial state to the destination state by ordering the process. The total time spend for the process can be minimized by adopting an effective migration algorithm. Existing mobile agents such as Aglets. Voyager, and Odyssey do not guarantee the effectiveness by not taking the status of the network and the node to be moved into upon the migration. This paper proposes AMIS as the method used for the migration of the mobile agent. AMIS minimizes the total migration time of the mobile agent, and provides a firm and safe order for the migration of the mobile agent.

A smart meter is one of the core components in Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) that is responsible for providing effective control and monitor of electrical energy consumptions. The multifunction tasks that a smart meter carries out such as facilitating two-way communication between utility providers and consumers, managing metering data, delivering anomalies reports, analyzing fault and power quality, simply show that there are huge amount of data exchange in smart metering networks (SMNs). These data are prone to security threats due to high dependability of SMNs on Internet-based communication, which is highly insecure. Therefore, there is a need to identify all possible security threats over this network and propose suitable countermeasures for securing the communication between smart meters and utility provider office. This paper studies the architecture of the smart grid communication networks, focuses on smart metering networks and discusses how such networks can be vulnerable to security attacks. This paper also presents current mechanisms that have been used to secure the smart metering networks from specific type of attacks in SMNs. Moreover, we highlight several open issues related to the security and privacy of SMNs which we anticipate could serve as baseline for future research directions.

In this paper, geographic information system(GIS) for an intelligent power distribution network was implemented with location informations acquired from automatic meter reading system, where the location informations of power line communication(PLC) modems installed at customer side were collected at data concentration units(DCUs) of headend equipment via PLC and then were transmitted to front end processor server. By displaying the connection status of the power distribution network on GIS map, operation of advanced metering infrastructure(AMI) or management of power grid system could be performed intuitionally and in real time, because the configuration state of the power grid could be easily monitored. The feasibility of the proposed system was confirmed with the especially constructed laboratory-level test bed and the verification test of the system will be carried out for a real power distribution network.
Nowadays, Power Line Communication (PLC) is gaining high attention from industry and electric supply companies for the services like demand response, demand side management and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI). The reliable services to consumers using PLC can be provided by utilizing an efficient PLC channel for which sophisticated channel modeling is very important. This paper presents characterization of a Low Voltage (LV) access network for Narrowband Power Line Communications (NB-PLC) using transmission line (TL) theory and a Simulink model. The TL theory analysis not only includes the constant parameters but frequency selectivity is also introduced in these parameters such as resistance, conductance and impedances. However, the proposed Simulink channel model offers an analysis and characterization of capacitive coupler, network impedance and channel transfer function for NB-PLC. Analysis of analytical and simulated results shows a close agreement of the channel transfer function. In the absence of a standardized NBPLC channel model, this research work can prove significant in improving the efficiency and accuracy of NB-PLC communication transceivers for Smart Grid communications.
In Home Area Network (HAN) of the smart grid, Power Line Communication (PLC) technology and ZigBee communication technology can be used in the communication among the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) devices. However, according to performance evaluation results of the PLC technology, we find that using the PLC technology is unsuitable for the remote meter reading service. It is worth noting that some parts of the PLC are converted to the ZigBee communication technology in Jeju, Korea. Compared with PLC, ZigBee has no restriction of the place, where the equipments can be freely set up, due to the advantage of radio communication. However, number of usable devices will impact the network performance which is depended on the address assignment. In addition, due to the restriction of transmission range among devices, it is difficult to apply the ZigBee address assignment method to the practical circumstance. In this paper, we examine the previous ZigBee address assignment schemes and the corresponding routing algorithms, and propose a novel address assignment scheme compared with the existing methods, the performance of the proposed one is improved. In particular, evaluation results show that the proposed scheme reduces the average number of hop count, the transfer time and the processing time.

Low-power and lossy networks (LLNs) comprised of thousands of embedded networking devices can be used in a variety of applications, such as smart grid automated metering infrastructures (AMIs) and wireless sensor networks. Connecting these LLNs to the Internet has even greater potential, leading to the emerging concept of the Internet of Things (IoT). With the goal of integrating LLNs into IoT, the IETF has recently standardized RPL and 6LoWPAN to allow the use of IPv6 on LLNs. Although there already exist several studies on the the performance of RPL and embedded IPv6 stack in LLN, performance measurement and characterization of TCP over RPL in multihop LLNs is yet to be studied. In this article, we present a comprehensive experimental study on the performance of TCP over RPL in an embedded IPv6-based LLN running over a 30-node multihop IEEE 802.15.4 testbed network. Our results and findings are aimed at investigating how embedded TCP interoperates with common Linux TCP and underlying RPL (and vice versa), which furthers our understanding of the performance trade-offs when choosing TCP over RPL in IPv6-based LLNs.

In this paper, we studied line coding technology tendency for high speed data communication at LED-ID (Identification) communication system in indoor environment. A LED-ID technology is a communication using visible ray (RGB) that come out in LED device. It is energy curtailment effect and possible in ubiquitous network service applications. The LED-ID system has the above advantages about that the communication throughout the whole room is enabled by high power lighting and lighting equipment with white colored LED which are easy to install and have good outward appearance. Therefore, the transmission by light waves is more suitable for wireless networks than by radio waves. We compared with the NRZ, AMI, 4B5B, HDB3, 8B10B line coding for efficient in error detection and serves data transmission of high speed.
In this study, the classification of cold water and normal water based on Geo-Kompsat 2A images was performed. Daily mean surface temperature products provided by the National Meteorological Satellite Center (NMSC) were used, and convolution neural network (CNN) deep learning technique was applied as a classification algorithm. From 2019 to 2022, the cold water occurrence data provided by the National Institute of Fisheries Science (NIFS) were used as the cold water class. As a result of learning, the probability of detection was 82.5% and the false alarm ratio was 54.4%. Through misclassification analysis, it was confirmed that cloud area should be considered and accurate learning data should be considered in the future.

To prepare an atmospheric correction model suitable for CAS500-4 (Compact Advanced Satellite 500-4), this letter examined an atmospheric correction experiment using Sentinel-2 images having similar spectral characteristics to CAS500-4. Studies to compare the atmospheric correction results depending on different Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD) data are rarely found. We conducted a comparison of Fast Line-of-sight Atmospheric Analysis of Spectral Hypercubes (FLAASH), Sen2Cor, and Second Simulation of the Satellite Signal in the Solar Spectrum - Vector (6SV) version 1.1 and 2.1, using Geo-Kompsat 2A (GK2A) Advanced Meteorological Imager (AMI) and Aerosol Robotic Network (AERONET) AOD data. In this experiment, 6SV2.1 seemed more stable than others when considering the correlation matrices and the output images for each band and Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI).
