Low Frequency of Precore Mutants in Anti-Hepatitis B e Antigen Positive Subjects with Chronic Hepatitis B Virus Infection in Chennai, Southern India

  • The natural course of chronic hepatitis B (CH-B) virus infection is reportedly variable, and the long-term outcomes in hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg)-negative chronic hepatitis B infection are distinct from HBeAg-positive chronic hepatitis. However, the molecular virological factors that contribute to the progression of liver disease in the south Indian setting remain largely unclear. We prospectively studied 679 consecutive patients for HBsAg, HBeAg, anti-HBe, and HBV DNA by qualitative PCR. Randomly selected samples were subjected to bidirectional sequencing to reveal core/precore variants. Of the total 679 chronic HBV cases investigated, 23% (154/679) were replicative HBV carriers. Furthermore, amongst the 560 HBV DNA samples analyzed, 26% (146/560) were viremic. Among the 154 HBeAg positive cases, HBV DNA was positive in 118 cases (77%), significantly (p<0.001) higher than the anti-HBe positive (7%) (28/406) cases. Significant increase in liver disease (p<0.01) with ALT enzyme elevation (p<0.001) was observed in both HBe and anti-HBe viremic cases. Interestingly, low frequencies of mutations were seen in the precore region of the HBV strains studied. HBV precore and core promoter variants were less often detected in subjects with "e" negative chronic HBV infection and, therefore, may not have a prognostic role in determining liver disease sequelae in this part of tropical India.

전라남도 고흥 북부지역에 분포하는 편마암류의 변성작용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Metamorphism of Gneisses in the Northern Gohung Area, Chonnam)

  • 고흥 북부지역에는 화강암질 편마암, 반상변정질 편마암 및 미그마타이트질 편마암이 널리 분포하고 있다. 편마암류는 실리카-알카리 lUGS 분류도에 의하면 화강섬록암 영역에 해당된다. 미량원소는 $SiO_2$ 양이 증가함에 따라 Li,Zn, Sc, Sr, Ni, V, Y등 대부분이 감소하는 경향을 보인다. 사장석 성분은 안데신으로 상당한 범위($An_{32-48}$)를 보여주며 석류석 성분에서 $X_{alm}$$X_{sps}$은 석류석 입자의 주변부에서 높고 $X_{pyp}$는 중심부에서 높으며, XFe는 석류석 입자 주변부에서 높은 변화를 보인다. 본 역의 편마암류의 모암인 화강암류는 대륙의 동시 충돌형과 후기 조산대 및 후 조산대 영역에서 형성되었을 것으로 예상되며 S형과 I형 화성암류가 모두 나타난다. 변성작용은 저압 내지 중압형의 고온 변성작용(803-913$^{\circ}C$, 6.1-7.3kb) 받은 후 저압, 중온의 후퇴 변성작용(570-726$^{\circ}C$, 2.2-5.1 kb) 및 녹니석화 작용 등의 중첩된 후퇴 변성작용이 수반되었다.

지리산 동부 지역에 분포하는 차노카이트의 변성작용과 성인에 관한 연구 (Petrogenesis and Metamorphism of Charnockite of Eastern Jirisan Area)

  • 소백산 육괴 중 남동부 지역의 선캠브리아 변성암류는 화강암질 편마암, 반상변정질 편마암과 석영장석질 편마암 등으로 이루어져 있으며, 하동-산청 회장암 복합체 서편에 남북방향의 대상으로 사방휘석을 함유한 차노카이트가 폭 3km, 길이 12km의 규모로 분포한다. 차노카이트는 조직에 따라 괴상 차노카이트와 엽리상 차노카이트로 분류된다. 성분상 차노카이트의 원암은 화강섬록암에서 석영 몬조나이트에 대비되고 비알카리질이며. 이들의 주원소 및 미량원소의 함량 변화양상은 전형적인 마그마 분화 경향을 보여준다. 한편, 조구조 판별도에 도시된 지구화학적 자료는 이들 차노카이트가 활동적인 조구조 환경에서 형성되었음을 보여준다. 괴상 및 엽리상 차노카이트에서 관찰되는 주구성 광물은 사장석, 사방휘석, 미사장석 석류석 석영 등이며, 석류석은 산점상으로 산출한다. 석류석은 대체로 성분 누대구조가 잘 나타나고, $X_{alm}$ / (0.74~0.83)와 $X_{py}$ (0.07~0.12), $X_{Mg}$ (0.12-0.08) 성분은 주변부로 가면서 감소하고, $X_{grs}$ /(0.03~0.15)는 중심부에서는 낮고 주변 부로 가면서 크게 증가하는 특징적인 변화를 보인다. 사방휘석-석류석-사장석-석영 공생광물군을 이용하여 계산된 차노카이트의 변성조건은 시료에 따라 2.5-7.5kb, $600-900^{\circ}C$의 큰 범위로 변화하지만, 석류석의 중심부 성분을 사용하였을 경우 약 $800^{\circ}C$의 정점온도를 보인다. 그리고 석류석의 누대구조 특성이 뚜렷한 시료 MS2-1에서는 3.5kb, $800^{\circ}C$에서 6kb, $600^{\circ}C$로 후퇴한 반시계 방향의 진화경로가 인지된다.

  • Background: We defined melanoma distribution in a large series of Turkish patients and evaluated the prognostic parameters of melanomas. Materials and Methods: A total of 1574 patients' data was retrospectively collected at 18 centers in Turkey. Demographic characteristics were questioned and noted. Prognostic parametres were evaluated based on sentinel lymph node involvement. Results: Mean age was 56.7 (4-99) years. While 844 (53.6%) cases were male, 730 (46.4%) cases were female. One thousand four hundred forty-seven (92%) cases were invasive melanoma and 127 (8%) cases were in-situ melanoma. The most common histopathological form was the superficial spreading melanoma (SSM) which was found in 549 patients (37.9%). It was followed by nodular melanoma in 379 (26.2%), acral lentiginous melanoma (ALM) in 191 (13.2%) and lentigo maligna melanoma in 132 (9.1%), respectively. On univariate analysis, lymphovascular invasion (p<0.001), tumor thickness (p<0.001), histopathological subtype (p<0.001), Clark level (p=0.001), ulceration (p<0.001), ${\geq}6/mm^2$ mitosis (p=0.005), satellite formation (p=0.001) and gender (p=0.03) were found to be associated with sentinel lymph node positivity. Regression was associated with sentinel lymph node negativity (p=0.017). According to multivariate analysis, lymphovascular invasion and tumor thickness were significant independent predictive factors of SLN positivity. Patient age, tumor localization, precursor lesions, lymphocytic infiltration and neurotropism were not related with sentinel lymph node involvement. Conclusions: In this retrospective analysis, it was found that the prevalence of SSM is at a lower rate while the prevalence of ALM is at a higher rate when compared to western countries. According to Breslow index; most of the melanoma lesions' thickness were greater than 2 mm, corresponding Clark IV. Vascular invasion and tumor thickness are the most important factors for sentinel lymph node involvement.

다계층 전송경로를 이용한 신뢰성 있는 하이브리드 멀티캐스트 (Reliable Hybrid Multicast using Multi-layer Transmission Path)

  • 멀티캐스트를 이용하는 실시간 응용에서는 끊임없이 서비스를 제공하는 것이 중요하다. IP 멀티캐스트와 응용계층 멀티캐스트(ALM)를 이용하는 하이브리드 멀티캐스트에서는 혼잡 등 네트워크 상황에 적응하기 위하여 전송경로의 재구성이 발생한다. 이로 인하여 종단 간 지연시간이 증가하고 실시간 서비스의 품질이 저하되는 문제가 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 이런 문제를 다계층 전송경로를 구성하여 해결하고자 한다. 제안방법에서는 하이브리드 멀티캐스트 구성을 위해서 제어서버와 각 멀티캐스트 도메인(MD)에 존재하는 응용계층 오버레이 호스트(Application Layer Overlay Host)를 둔다. 제어서버는 MD에 가입한 ALOH들로 부터 제어정보를 받아 홉 수를 기반으로 그룹을 생성하고, 모든 ALOH들에게 전송한다. 각 MD의 ALOH는 타 MD의 ALOH에게 오버레이로 패킷을 전송하는 역할과 다계층 전송경로를 구성하는 역할을 수행한다. 다계층 전송경로는 제어서버로 부터 전송받은 제어정보와 이웃한 ALOH 간 지연시간을 이용하여 우선순위별로 구성된다. 이렇게 완성된 다계층 전송경로 중 혼잡이 발생하거나 ALOH의 부재 시에는 가장 우선순위가 높은 전송경로를 선택하여 종단 간 지연시간을 줄이도록 한다. 시뮬레이션 결과는 제안방법이 혼잡상태에서 종단 간 지연시간을 평균 289ms 이하로 줄일 수 있었음을 보여준다.

Machiavellianism in a Synergistic Tax Climate

  • This research examines the personal (i.e., Machiavellianism) and situational factors (i.e., tax climate) that are believed to be psychologically salient aspects in tax compliance. To the best of our knowledge, no research has been carried out to investigate the interaction effect of the two factors. This study uses a paper-and-pencil laboratory experiment 2x2 between-subject factorial design that involved 158 participants. The results indicate that a taxpayer who has a low Machiavellianism score or who is in a high synergistic tax climate reports a higher level of income. In the high synergistic tax climate, where tax norms apply, personal ethics do not play a significant role in tax compliance decisions. Where the synergistic relationship between taxpayer and authorities is low, personal ethics play an important role, i.e., low Machiavellians report a higher reported income than high Machiavellians do. This research contributes to the literature that deviates from the traditional model of tax compliance. Taxpayers are not always rational, but they might pay tax for reasons other than financial motives (Alm, 1991, 2018), that is, personal ethics in this study. This research implies the need for policymakers to consider other approaches rather than only relying on audits and fines.

안정경계층 난류에서의 터빈 후류 특성 연구 (Investigation of wake characteristics in turbulence of stable atmospheric boundary layer)

  • In this study, we investigate the wake characteristics in two cases which are laminar inflow and turbulent inflow. To solve the flow with wind turbines and its wake, we use large eddy simulation (LES) technique with actuator line method (ALM) and turbulent inflow of Turbsim. Turbulent inflow which contains the characteristic of the stable atmospheric boundary layer is used. We perform the quantitative analysis of velocity deficit and turbulence intensity in two cases. Time series of velocity deficit at the first, the second column in two cases are compared to observe the performance of wind turbine. The performance in the first column in laminar inflow is overestimated compared to that in turbulent inflow. And we observe that wake in the case with turbulent inflow drive to the span-wise direction and wake recovery in turbulent inflow is more effective. In quadrant analysis of Reynolds stress, the ejection and the sweep motion in turbulent inflow case are bigger than those in laminar inflow case.

  • This paper proposes efficiency optimization control of IPMSM drive using hybrid intelligent controller(HIC). The design of the speed controller based on fuzzy-neural network that is implemented using fuzzy control and neural network. The design of the current based on adaptive fuzzy control using model reference and the estimation of the speed based on neural network using ANN controller. In order to maximize the efficiency in such applications, this paper proposes the optimal control method of the armature current. The optimal current can be decided according to the operating speed and the load conditions. This paper proposes speed control of IPMSM using ALM-FNN, current control of model reference adaptive fuzzy control(MTC) and estimation of speed using ANN controller. The proposed control algorithm is applied to IPMSM drive system controlled HIC, the operating characteristics controlled by efficiency optimization control are examined in detail.

  • Optimal efficiency control of synchronous reluctance motor(SynRM) is very important in the sense of energy saving and conservation of natural environment because the efficiency of the SynRM is generally lower than that of other types of AC motors. This paper is proposed a novel efficiency optimization control of SynRM considering iron loss using neural network(NN). The optimal current ratio between torque current and exciting current is analytically derived to drive SynRM at maximum efficiency. This paper is proposed an efficiency optimization control for the SynRM which minimizes the copper and iron losses. The design of the speed controller based on adaptive learning mechanism fuzzy-neural networks(ALM-FNN) controller that is implemented using fuzzy control and neural networks. The objective of the efficiency optimization control is to seek a combination of d and q-axis current components, which provides minimum losses at a certain operating point in steady state. The control performance of the proposed controller is evaluated by analysis for various operating conditions. Analysis results are presented to show the validity of the proposed algorithm.

선회 고유진동수와 안정성을 고려한 회전자-베어링 시스템의 중량 최적설계 (Optimal Weight Design of Rotor-Bearing Systems Considering Whirl Natural Frequency and Stability)

  • The objective of this study is to minimize the weight of a damped anisotropic roto-bearing system considering whirl natural frequency and stability. The system is modeled as an assemblage of rigid disks, flexible shafts and discrete bearings. The system design variables are the crosssectional areas of shaft elements and the properties of bearings. To analyze the system, the polynomial method which is derived by rearranging the calculations performed by a transfer matrix method is adopted. For the optimization, the optimization software IDOL (Integrated Design Optimization Library) which is based on the Augmented Lagrange Multiplier (ALM) method is employed. Also, an analytical design sensitivity analysis of the system is used for high accuracy and efficiency. To demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed optimal design program incorporating analysis, design sensitivity analysis, and optimization modules, a damped anisotropic rotor-bearing system is optimized to obtain 34$ weight reduction.
