The technology of navigational instruments and the profession of going to sea have entered a time of dramatic change. A paradigm shift is taking place which will eventually make the industry unrecognizable to those who first went to sea only twenty years ago. This change is most emphatically seen in three areas: Automatic Identification System(AIS), Electronic Chart Display and Information System(ECDIS), and Voyage Data Recoreder(VDR). In order to make these new instruments to be fitted on board commerical ships, international requirements for enhacing the safety of navigation on the world's waterways, the Chapter V of International Convention for the Safety of Life at sea, 1974 as ameded(hereinafter referred to as "SOLAS"), are being also changed.o changed.
A true random number generator (TRNG) is widely used to generate secure random numbers for encryption, digital signatures, authentication, and so on in crypto-systems. Since TRNG is vulnerable to environmental changes, a deterministic function is normally used to reduce bias and improve the statistical properties of the TRNG output. In this paper, we propose a linear corrector for secure TRNG. The performance of a linear corrector is bounded by the minimum distance of the corresponding linear error correcting code. However, we show that it is possible to construct a linear corrector overcoming the minimum distance limitation. The proposed linear corrector shows better performance in terms of removing bias in that it can enlarge the acceptable bias range of the raw TRNG output. Moreover, it is possible to efficiently implement this linear corrector using only XOR gates, which must have a suitable hardware size for embedded security systems.

The most portion of the Korean Army's ammunition management system has achieved efficiency and automation based on the Ammunition Information System (AIS). However, a few limitations for the automation system constructed at each site, exist in verifying the real time situation. At the present state of technology, the asset visibility of the located ammunitions is basically achieved. On the other hand, the ammunitions in the middle of transportation are difficult to achieve asset visibility. The RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) technology could be an appropriate solution in these circumstances. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to apply the RFID to improve defense asset management, total asset visibility and ammunition distribution efficiency in the ammunition management system of the Korean Army.
The change of pectinesterase (PE) activity and pectin substances in fig fruit were investigated and low sugar jams prepared by various methods from fig fruit were compared. Fig fruit PE, which began to show the activity at the harvest time, was not inactivated and had slight activity during frozen storage at $-25^{\circ}C$. The amount of alcohol insoluble solid (AIS) and the degree of esterification (DE) of AIS were reduced by its own PE activity. However the intrinsic PE of fig fruit was not enough to make low-methoxyl pectin below 50% of DE. Fig pulp treated by its own PE and combination of fig PE and orange PE could make low-methoxyl pectin. After PE treatments, fig pulp adjusted below pH 4.0 by addition of citric acid kept red colour. Fig Jams processed by various methods had lower soluble solid $(31{\sim}49^{\circ}Brix)$ compared with conventional fig jam. Five kinds of fig jams out of those showed higher score than others in the sensory evaluation. For preparation of the five jams, the fig pulps with or without 1% pectin were treated at $50^{\circ}C$ for 25 minutes with addition of orange PE (200 units/400 g pulp). The treated pulps were added with 0.25% citric acid, 0.7% calcium and 20% cane sugar. The mixed pulps were prepared for jams containing low sugar by hot plate or microwave or refrigeration (excepting the mixed pulp without pectin).
With the advent of Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems(ECDIS) and Automatic Identification Systems (AIS) as the principal navigation equipment of E-navigation strategy, mariners will begin to practice "e-navigation" and increasingly rely upon these systems to navigate safely and efficiently. However, these electronic systems require "e-inputs" in order to function. At present, the choices for e-input are limited, and they are installation dependent. This means that the mariner must be suitably equipped in order to use an alternative e-input. If the primary e-input is lost, and the vessel is not equipped to make use of suitable alternative e-inputs, then continued operations will have to be done the "old fashioned way" using conventional navigation The final objective is a recommendation of dual harbor positioning system on the most appropriate mix of positioning systems to satisfy the marine needs for radionavigation, positioning services.

Due to the increasing need for spatial information, there have been a lot of research related with monitoring and revision of changed regions for the acquisition of the accurate and latest information. In this paper, the optimal monitoring management plan for changed regions with respect to the revision periods was proposed. For this purpose, the representative monitoring methods, which are based on database, professional manpower and crowdsourcing of continuous revision, and aerial imagery, satellite imagery and LiDAR of cyclic revision, were investigated. Then, the properties and application status of monitoring systems in Korea were illustrated according to the methods. Finally, the optimal monitoring management plan for continuous and cyclic revisions was suggested through the comparison of properties and revisionable objects of each method. From the result, it was shown to be appropriate for the optimal monitoring management plan of continuous revision as using Internet-Architectural Information System (e-AIS) database cooperated with professional manpower and crowdsourcing, and cyclic revision as using domestic high-resolution satellite images and LiDAR data processed semi-automatically.

Purpose: Few studies have been done for spinal injuries after skiing and snowboarding accidents. Assuming that the riding patterns of skiing and snowboarding were different, we analyzed the differences between the mechanisms, diagnoses and levels of spinal injuries caused by them. The purpose of this study was to gain a better understanding of spinal hazards associated with skiing and snowboarding in order to educate skiers and snowboarders. Methods: We conducted a prospective study of 96 patients who had sustained spinal injuries as a result of skiing and snowboarding accidents from January 2003 to March 2006. We used a questionnaire, radiological studies, history taking, and physical examinations. We analyzed the mechanism of injury, the level of spinal injury, the severity of spinal injury, and the Abbreviated Injury Scale scores (AIS score). We used the t-test and the chi-square test. Results: The skiing and the snowboarding injury group included in 96 patients. The skiing injury group included 30 patients (31.2%), and the snowboarding injury group included the remaining 66 patients (69.8%). The primary mechanism of injury in skiing was collisions and in snowboarding was slip downs (p=0.508). The primary level of spinal injury in skiing and snowboarding was at the L-spine level (p=0.547). The most common athlete ability of the injured person was at the intermediate level (p=0.954). The injured were most commonly at the beginner or the intermediate level (p=0.302). The primary diagnosis of spinal injury in skiing and snowboarding was back spain (p=0.686). The AIS scores did not differed between the two groups (p=0.986). Conclusion: The most common spinal injury after skiing and snowboarding accidents was back sprain. There was no difference in the severity of spinal injury between skiing and snowboarding accidents.

This study proposed a map registration method of a building construction plan drawing with shape matching of cadastral parcel polygon. In general, the drawing contains information about a building boundary and a cadastral parcel boundary. The shape of this cadastral parcel boundary should be same as that of the corresponding parcel polygon object in the KLIS continuous cadastral map. Thus, shape matching between two parcel boundary polygons from the drawing and cadastral map could present transformation parameters. Translation and scaling amounts could be obtained by difference of centroid coordinates and area ratio of the polygons, respectively. Rotation amount could be obtained by the rotation that presents the minimum Turning function dissimilarity of the polygons. The proposed method was applied for building construction plan drawings in eAIS for an urban area in Suwon. To assess positional accuracy of map registration, building polygons in registered drawings and aerial photos were compared. According to the accuracy of the cadastral map which is the reference dataset of the proposed method, the RMSE of corresponding buildings' corners was 0.95m and 2.37m in new and old urban areas, respectively.

Purpose: We analyzed the medical costs for severely traumatized patients according to the severity and medical performance so that we could improve the financial balance of the trauma center. Methods: Retrospective analysis was performed on patients visiting SNUH Trauma Center from May 2011 to August 2011. Among a total of 55 severely traumatized patients, 31 patients whose medical bills were available and categorized were included in this study. The injury severity score (ISS) was calculated from the abbreviated injury score (AIS), which was updated in 2008,for each patient to assess the severity of injury. Major trauma was defined as an ISS above 15. Results:The 31 patients in this study included 20 males and 11 females. The average ISS was $33.23{\pm}16.65$ points. We categorize the patients into three groups according to ISS, 16-24: group 1, 25-40: group 2, and above 41: group 3. Total incomes, admission fees, surgery fees, and imaging test fees are shown in table 1. The costs seem to be higher costs in group 2, but this result has no statistical significance. Statistical significantly data are as follows: high radiologic test fees in group 1, short hospital stay in groups 1 and 2, and short ICU stay in group 1. The average hospital stay was 17 days, and the average emergency intensive care unit (EICU) stay was 7.5 days. Although the EICU stay was only 44% of the total hospital stay, the income from the EICU covers 79.4% of the total hospital income. Conclusion: From this study, we found several items that show relatively high medical income from severely traumatized patients visiting the SNUH Trauma Center. Most of the medical fees arise in the early phase of acute medicine usually in the ICU. Efforts to identify the items with high income and to minimize expenses will improve the financial structure of the Trauma Center, which is facing a budget crisis.
This experiment was carried out to obtain the basic information necessary to establish suitable postharvest handling techniques and to keep high quality of the sweet(Danok 2), supersweet(Cooktail 86) and waxy(Chalok 1) corn which are mainly consumed as vegetable in Korea. Vegetable corns were cooled with ice fragments in the insulation box immediately after harvest and stored in low temperature warehouse at 0 to 2$^{\circ}C$. During the 15 days short-term storage, changes of chemical components were compared with those of uncooled corns. The losses of moisture in kernels were as high as 7.4 to 24.4% in uncooled corns while those of ice cooled corns increased 0.4 to 0.5% of their weight. The ratio of pericarp and alcohol insoluble solid(AIS) content increased as the storage days prolonged in all treatments but increasing rates were much higher in uncooled samples. On the other hand, the total sugar loss during storage was the least in supersweet corn when they were cooled with ice fragments in insulation box. After 5 days storage, the ice cooled samples showed the highest free amino acid contents compare to those of uncooled and stored at room temperature (25 to 3$0^{\circ}C$) or low temperature warehouse, and ${\gamma}$-aminobutylic acid (GABA) which was known as a fuctional amino acid was detected in all three kinds of vegetable corns.
