Application of AI based Chatbot Technology in the Industry

  • Based on the successful use of chatbot technology, this study examined what business values each company is creating. The chatbot service contributes to improving the productivity of the company by helping to answer or respond to the questions of employees inside the company or customers. And in the field of education, Instead of instructor, AI technology responds the questions and feedback of the students to reduce the work of the instructor. In the field of commerce, offline stores provide convenient and new purchasing experiences to customers by providing product purchasing services through artificial intelligence speakers and personalization service. Although chatbot service is creating business value in some business cases, it is still limited to the process of a specific company, and the spread rate is still slowing because the service scope, convenience, and usefulness are not greater than expected. Therefore, some chatbot development service providers is providing an integrated development platform to improve usability, Chatbots have the features and advantages of providing convenience instead of answering human questions. However, there is a disadvantage that the level of communication can be lowered by reducing various human subjective views and giving mainly objective answers. Through this study, we will discuss the characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of chatbot services by comparing them.

  • This paper aims to provide strategic suggestions by analyzing technology trends related to big data, IoT, and artificial intelligence. To this end, analysis was performed using the 2018 national R&D information, and major basic analysis and language network analysis were performed. As a result of the analysis, research and development related to big data, IoT, and artificial intelligence are being conducted by focusing on the basic and development stages, and it was found that universities and SMEs have a high proportion. In addition, as a result of the language network analysis, it is judged that the related fields are mainly research for use in the smart farm and healthcare fields. Based on these research results, first, big data is essential to use artificial intelligence, and personal identification research should be conducted more actively. Second, they argued that full-cycle support is needed for technology commercialization, not simple R&D activities, and the need to expand application fields.

Implementation of Hair Style Recommendation System Based on Big data and Deepfakes (빅데이터와 딥페이크 기반의 헤어스타일 추천 시스템 구현)

  • In this paper, we investigated the implementation of a hairstyle recommendation system based on big data and deepfake technology. The proposed hairstyle recommendation system recognizes the facial shapes based on the user's photo (image). Facial shapes are classified into oval, round, and square shapes, and hairstyles that suit each facial shape are synthesized using deepfake technology and provided as videos. Hairstyles are recommended based on big data by applying the latest trends and styles that suit the facial shape. With the image segmentation map and the Motion Supervised Co-Part Segmentation algorithm, it is possible to synthesize elements between images belonging to the same category (such as hair, face, etc.). Next, the synthesized image with the hairstyle and a pre-defined video are applied to the Motion Representations for Articulated Animation algorithm to generate a video animation. The proposed system is expected to be used in various aspects of the beauty industry, including virtual fitting and other related areas. In future research, we plan to study the development of a smart mirror that recommends hairstyles and incorporates features such as Internet of Things (IoT) functionality.

  • Last March, the world Go competition between AlphaGo, AI Go program developed by Google Deep Mind and professional Go player Lee Sedol has shown us that the 4th industrial revolution using AI has come close. Especially, there ar many system combined with AI hae been developing including program for researching legal information, system for expecting jurisdiction, and processing big data, there is saying that even AI legal person is ready for its appearance. As legal field is mostly based on text-based document, such characteristic makes it easier to adopt artificial intelligence technology. When a legal person receives a case, the first thing to do is searching for legal information and judical precedent, which is the one of the strength of AI. It is very difficult for a human being to utilize a flow of legal knowledge and figures by analyzing them but for AI, this is nothing but a simple job. The ability of AI searching for regulation, precedent, and literature related to legal issue is way over our expectation. AI is evaluated to be able to review 1 billion pages of legal document per second and many people agree that lot of legal job will be replaced by AI. Along with development of AI service, legal service is becoming more advanced and if it devotes to ethical solving of legal issues, which is the final goal, not only the legal field but also it will help to gain nation's trust. If nations start to trust the legal service, it would never be completely replaced by AI. What is more, if it keeps offering advanced, ethical, and quick legal service, value of law devoting to the society will increase and finally, will make contribution to the nation. In this time where we have to compete with AI, we should try hard to increase value of traditional legal service provided by human. In the future, priority of good legal person will be his/her ability to use AI. The only field left to human will be understanding and recovering emotion of human caused by legal problem, which cannot be done by AI's controlling function. Then, what would be the attitude of legal people in this period? It would be to learn the new technology and applying in the field rather than going against it, this will be the way to survive in this new AI period.

An Efficient Cloud Service Quality Performance Management Method Using a Time Series Framework (시계열 프레임워크를 이용한 효율적인 클라우드서비스 품질·성능 관리 방법)

  • Cloud service has the characteristic that it must be always available and that it must be able to respond immediately to user requests. This study suggests a method for constructing a proactive and autonomous quality and performance management system to meet these characteristics of cloud services. To this end, we identify quantitative measurement factors for cloud service quality and performance management, define a structure for applying a time series framework to cloud service application quality and performance management for proactive management, and then use big data and artificial intelligence for autonomous management. The flow of data processing and the configuration and flow of big data and artificial intelligence platforms were defined to combine intelligent technologies. In addition, the effectiveness was confirmed by applying it to the cloud service quality and performance management system through a case study. Using the methodology presented in this study, it is possible to improve the service management system that has been managed artificially and retrospectively through various convergence. However, since it requires the collection, processing, and processing of various types of data, it also has limitations in that data standardization must be prioritized in each technology and industry.

  • AI is applied increasingly to overall industries such as living, medical, financial service, autonomous car, etc. thanks to rapid technology development. AI-leading countries are strengthening their competency to secure competitiveness since AI is positioned as the core technology in $4^{th}$ Industrial Revolution. Although Korea has the competitive IT infra and human resources, it lags behind traditional AI-leaders like United States, Canada, Japan and, even China which devotes all its might to develop intelligent technology-intentive industry. AI is the critical technology influencing on the national industry in the near future according to advancement of intelligent information society so that concentration of capability is required with national interest. Also, joint development with global AI-leading companies as well as development of own technology are crucial to prevent technology subordination. Additionally, regulatory reform and preparation of related law are very urgent.

AI-based Construction Site Prioritization for Safety Inspection Using Big Data (빅데이터를 활용한 AI 기반 우선점검 대상현장 선정 모델)

  • Despite continuous safety management, the death rate of construction workers is not decreasing every year. Accordingly, various studies are in progress to prevent construction site accidents. In this paper, we developed an AI-based priority inspection target selection model that preferentially selects sites are expected to cause construction accidents among construction sites with construction costs of less than 5 billion won (KRW). In particular, Random Forest (90.48 % of accident prediction AUC-ROC) showed the best performance among applied AI algorithms (Classification analysis). The main factors causing construction accidents were construction costs, total number of construction days and the number of construction performance evaluations. In this study an ROI (return of investment) of about 917.7 % can be predicted over 8 years as a result of better efficiency of manual inspections human resource and a preemptive response to construction accidents.

  • With the development of artificial intelligence, a wave of the 4th industrial revolution is taking place around the world. With the technologies such as big data and Internet of Things-based artificial intelligence, we are heading to a hyper-connected society where everything converges into one. Accordingly as educational talents in the era of artificial intelligence, we are pursuing the cultivation of creative convergence-type talents and emotional creative talents. With human creativity and emotion at the center, we should be able to collaborate with artificial intelligence and create new things by converging knowledge in various fields. By developing a program that combines humanities-oriented Korean language with engineering-oriented artificial intelligence, this research attempted to help students experience solving problems creatively by combining humanistic knowledge with engineering thinking skills. The educational program consists of two kinds of contents(i.e., "Books with AI" and "A Play with AI") and 15 classes that provide students with opportunities to solve humanities problems with artificial intelligence.

Performance Comparison of Python and Scala APIs in Spark Distributed Cluster Computing System (Spark 기반에서 Python과 Scala API의 성능 비교 분석)

  • Hadoop is a framework to process large data sets in a distributed way across clusters of nodes. It has been a popular platform to process big data, but in recent years, other platforms became competitive ones depending on the characteristics of the application. Spark is one of distributed platforms to enable real-time data processing and improve overall processing performance over Hadoop by introducing in-memory processing instead of disk I/O. Whereas Hadoop is designed to work on Java and data analysis is processed using Java API, Spark provides a variety of APIs with Scala, Python, Java and R. In this paper, the goal is to find out whether the APIs of different programming languages af ect the performances in Spark. We chose two popular APIs: Python and Scala. Python is easy to learn and is used in AI domain in a wide range. Scala is a programming language with advantages of parallelism. Our experiment shows much faster processing with Scala API than Python API. For the performance issues on AI-based analysis, further study is needed.

  • Currently, a majority of artificial intelligence is used to secure big data; however, it is concentrated in a few of major companies. Therefore, automatic data augmentation and efficient learning algorithms for small-scale data will become key elements in future artificial intelligence competitiveness. In addition, it is necessary to develop a technique to learn meanings, correlations, and time-related associations of complex modal knowledge similar to that in humans and expand and transfer semantic prediction/knowledge inference about unknown data. To this end, a neural memory model, which imitates how knowledge in the human brain is processed, needs to be developed to enable knowledge expansion through modality cooperative learning. Moreover, declarative and procedural knowledge in the memory model must also be self-developed through human interaction. In this paper, we reviewed this essential methodology and briefly described achievements that have been made so far.
