도핑효과에 따른 리튬이차전지용 NCA 양극활물질의 전기화학적 특성 향상 (Enhanced Electrochemical Properties of NCA Cathode Materials for Lithium Ion Battery by Doping Effect)

  • 니켈 함량이 높은 리튬이차전지용 NCA 양극소재의 용량 및 수명특성을 향상시키기 위하여 붕소와 코발트를 상업용 $Li_{1.06}Ni_{0.91}Co_{0.08}Al_{0.01}O_2$ (NCA)에 도핑하여 리튬이차전지의 양극소재로 사용하였다. 상업용 NCA 양극소재는 약 $5{\mu}m$$12{\mu}m$ 크기의 2차 입자들이 혼합되어 있고 붕소와 코발트 도핑후 입자크기는 조금 감소되었다. 붕소와 코발트를 도핑한 NCA-B와 NCA-Co의 초기 방전용량은 각각 214 mAh/g과 200 mAh/g으로 도핑하지 않은 NCA에 비해 높게 나타났으며, 특히 NCA-Co는 20번째의 방전용량이 157 mAh/g으로 가장 우수한 방전용량특성을 나타내었다. 이는 코발트를 도핑함으로써 c축 방향으로의 결정이 성장되어 리튬이온의 확산이 용이하기 때문이다.

  • 마그네슘 이차전지는 기존에 사용되고 있는 리튬이온전지를 대체할 수 있는 가능성으로 인해 많은 주목을 받고 있다. 마그네슘 이차전지용 양극활물질인 Mo6S8을 MSS (Molten Salt Synthesis)법으로 합성하였고, Mo6S8의 전기화학적 특성을 향상시키기 위하여 탄소소재인 PVC (Poly Vinyl Chloride)를 첨가하여 탄화시켰다. 물질의 결정 구조와 크기, 표면 상태는 XRD (X-ray Diffraction), SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope)으로 분석하였다. 전기화학적 특성은 배터리충방전기를 이용하여 충·방전 프로파일과 출력 특성 등을 측정하였다. PVC를 2.81 wt% 첨가한 물질의 경우, 0.125 C-rate에서 85.8 mAh/g, 0.5 C-rate에서 69.2 mAh/g, 1 C-rate에서 60.5 mAh/g의 용량을 나타내어 우수한 출력특성을 보여주었다.

Immunization of mice with chimeric protein-loaded aluminum hydroxide and selenium nanoparticles induces reduction of Brucella melitensis infection in mice

  • Purpose: Due to the many problems with commercially available vaccines, the production of effective vaccines against brucellosis is a necessity. The aim of this study was to evaluate the immune responses caused by the chimeric protein consisting of trigger factor, Bp26, and Omp31 (TBO) along with aluminum hydroxide (AH/TBO) and selenium (Se/TBO) nanoparticles (NPs) as adjuvants in mouse model. Materials and Methods: Recombinant antigen expression was induced in Escherichia coli BL21 (DE3) bacteria using IPTG (isopropyl-d-1-thiogalactopyranoside). Purification and characterization of recombinant protein was conducted through NiFe3O4 NPs, sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, and Western blot. NP characteristics, including morphology and particle size, were measured in vitro. The recombinant TBO was loaded on to AH and Se NPs and were administered subcutaneously. After mice immunization, measurement of antibody titter and protection assay was performed. Results: The average sizes of AH and Se NPs were about 60 nm and 150 nm, respectively. The enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay results showed that the serum of mice immunized by subcutaneous injection with both nanovaccines produced significant immunoglobulin G (IgG) responses against the chimeric antigen. The results of TBO-specific IgG isotype (IgG2a/IgG1) analysis showed that both AH and Se NPs induced a type to T-helper immune response. In addition, the results of the challenge with the pathogenic strain of Brucella melitensis 16M showed that vaccinated mice with AH/TBO NPs indicated a higher reduction of bacterial culture than immunized mice with Se/TBO NPs and TBO alone. Conclusion: The results showed that AH NPs carrying chimeric antigen can be a promising vaccine candidate against brucellosis by producing protective immunity.

  • Implantation rates remain low following human in vitro fertilization (IVF). Suboptimal culture conditions may limit the ability of embryos to hatch as blastocysts, and artificial opening of the zona pellucida has been proposed as a means to promote subsequent hatching (assisted hatching). In this study, assisted hatching (AH) by zona drilling using acidic Tyrode's solution was performed in 320 patients, due to their age of more than 38 years (group A), the thick zona pellucida (group Z; $ZP\geq0.18{\mu}m$), and failures in implantation more than 3 times in previous IVF-ET trial (group P). This study was designed firstly, to study the effects of AH on the outcomes of IVF-ET according to the indications and secondly, to verify the appropriate application of AH. The results were as follows; 1. There was no difference in pregnancy rate between AH group (26.6%) and non-AH group (26.5%). 2. Assisted hatching (AH) showed significantly higher pregnancy rate of the patients with thick zona pellucid a than those of the patients with age factor and with the history of repeated implantation failure. But in the patients with age factor only, AH resulted in higher pregnancy rate. 3. Interestingly, the patients with complex factors including zona factor (Z: 33.9%; ZA: 30.4%; ZP: 31.6%; ZAP: 21.4%) showed higher pregnancy rates than other complex factors excluding zona factor (A: 24.4%, P: 0%; AP: 10.8%). From these results, AH is more helpful to the patients with thick zona pellucida rather than patients with older age and/or previous repeated implantation failure.

고성능 리튬 이온전지를 위한 폴리머-세라믹 복합 겔 고분자 전해질 (Polymer-Ceramic Composite Gel Polymer Electrolyte for High-Electrochemical-Performance Lithium-Ion Batteries)

  • 본 연구에서는 poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene) (PVdF-HFP)를 나노 크기의 $Al_2O_3$ 세라믹입자와 혼합하여 전기방사법으로 복합 겔 고분자 전해질을 제조하였다. $Al_2O_3$ 세라믹입자를 혼합한 복합 겔 고분자 전해질의 이온전도도는 $9.5{\times}10^{-2}Scm^{-1}$로, 순수한 PVdF-HFP 겔 고분자 전해질보다 높은 이온전도도를 나타내며 전기화학적 안정성도 5.2 V까지 개선하였다. 전기화학적 성능을 분석하기 위해서 $LiNi_{1/3}Mn_{1/3}Co_{1/3}O_2$ (NMC)양극과 함께 전지로 제작되었으며 순수 겔 고분자 전해질과 복합 겔 고분자 전해질 셀은 0.1C-rate에서 각각 $168.2mAh\;g^{-1}$$189.6mAh\;g^{-1}$의 방전 용량을 가지며 우수한 수명 특성을 보여 주었다. 따라서 고유전율 세라믹 입자의 복합화는 리튬 이온 겔 고분자 전지의 안정성과 전기화학적 특성을 향상시키는 좋은 대안이 될 것으로 판단된다.

  • 기존의 헬리콥터 모델링은 주로 많은 가정들을 통한 수식 전개에 의존해 왔기 때문에 모델링이 어렵고, 특정 구간에서만 활용 가능하며, 모델링 구성이 바뀌면 많은 수정이 거쳐야 한다는 단점들이 제기되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 다물체 동역학 기법을 적용한 헬리콥터 시뮬레이션 프로그램을 개발하여 AH-1 헬리콥터에 대한 모델링을 수행하였고, 또한 시뮬레이션 결과를 비행 시험 데이터 및 상용 헬리콥터 시뮬레이션 분석 도구인 FLIGHTLAB과 비교하여 그 가능성을 확인해 보았다.

국내 시판 간장에서의 3-Monochloro-1,2-propanediol(3-MCPD) 분석 평가 (Analysis of 3-Monochloro-1,2-Propanediol (3-MCPD) in Soy Sauce Products in Korea)

  • 3-Monochloro-1,2-propanediol(3-MCPD) was analyzed in soy sauce products commercially available in Korea. A total of 24 samples were collected and 3-MCPD was determined by GC/MS. Sources of 24 samples were classified by manufacturing methods as naturally brewed(NB), acid hydrolyzed (AH) and mixed (M = NB + AH) soy sauces. 3-MCPD was not detected in NB soy sauce products (< 0.01 ppm, mg/kg) whereas AH and M soy sauce products showed a wide range of 3-MCPD contamination (0.0l ∼ 2.038 ppm). The contaminated levels of 3-MCPD in soy sauce products were higher than the permissible or tentative permissible level of 3-MCPD in both European Community (0.02 ppm) and Korea (0.3 ppm). These data suggest that 3-MCPD levels contaminated in soy sauce products in Korea were shown to be too high and should be reduced to as low a level technologically feasible to protect Korean from the exposure to toxic chemical, 3-MCPD.

MCMB 및 KCF 혼합부극의 특성 연구 (Characteristics of MCMB Anode Mixed with KCF)

  • In this study, the properties of MCMB anode Mixed with KCF were evaluated, KCF material was used as not only conducting agent but also active material, The Electirc conductivity of MCMB and KCF were 23.7S/cm and 45.8S/cm. Characteristics of anode with different KCF contents were the best effect at 2wt%. The 1st Ah efficiency of cells were increased with increment of KCF contents. The internal resistance and the rate capability were $1.59{\Omega}$ and 135mAh/g at 2C, The discharge capacity was gradually faded with the charge-discharge cycling to about 50th cycles.

  • Fraction (PMEx-AH-${\beta}$) of water-soluble polysaccharide, showing stimulating activity against macrophages, was isolated from mycelia of solid cultured Phellinus linteus by hot-water extraction, ethanol precipitation, and chromatography. Chemical characteristics of PMEx-AH-${\beta}$ were as follows: carbohydrate content, 71%; monosaccharide composition, Man:Glu:Gal (9:64:27); molecular weight, $1-7{\times}10^4$; uronic acid content, 6.8%. Fundamental structure of PMEx-AH-${\beta}$ is deduced as ${\beta}$-($1{$\rightarrow}6$)-D-glucan with ${\beta}$-($1{\rightarow}3$)-D-glucosidic side chains based on methylation analysis.
