The Sinusoidal Ministep Drive Technique

  • This paper presents the sinusoidal current ministep technique to drive stepping motor. The stepping motor is coupling to the increment encoder to detect the position and speed of the stepping motor. The data from the encoder is decoded to sine and cosine signal and fed to the driver system. The driver system has two loops control, the inner loop and the outer loop. The inner loop is used to control the rotating of the stepping motor and the outer is used to control the speed of the motor. The rotating of the stepping motor is controlled with the sinusoidal signal. The test results of the inner loop control can control the revolution of the stepping motor is smooth and continuously with similar to the DC motor. The outer loop uses to control the speed of the stepping motor with control the DC voltages apply to the driver. The DC voltages that apply to the driver is controlled by the AC-DC converter The test results of the outer loop control, it can control the speed of motor which is provide the any load in the design.

  • Computer aided engineering (CAE) is a systematic approach to develop a better product/application with maximum possible options and minimum transition time. This paper presents a comprehensive feasibility analysis of various CAE techniques for evaluation and optimization of power electronic converters and systems. Different CAE methods for analysis, design, and performance improvement are classified. In addition, their advantages compared to the conventional workbench experimental methods are explained in detail and through examples.

  • In this paper a control technique for active power filters is proposed which not only eliminates the harmonic current, but also controls the reactive power at the ac side of PWM inverter-induction motor drive system. Injecting the proposed PWM current enables the harmonic components of orders not greater than the pulse number per half-cycle to be removed completely. It also enables the input power factor to become unity. Theoretical investigations are performed to evaluate the performance of the proposed control technique.

  • In this paper, we present a nonlinear adaptive controller for position tracking of induction motors. In constructing the adaptive controller, a backstepping approach is used under the condition of full state information, while a nonlinear observer is adopted for rotor flux estimation. The adaptive controller is shown to drive the state variables of system to the desired ones asymptotically and whose effectiveness is also shown via computer simulation.

  • A propulsion system apparatus is needed for a railroad vehicle to test and estimate propulsion performance. The electrical inertia simulator to facilitate the development and testing of propulsion systems, is presented in this paper. It is based on a vector-controlled Induction motor drive supplied from the AC mains through a double PWM converter that provides desirable features such as hi-directional power folw, nearly unity power factor and low harmonic factor at the Ac mains. A theoretical analysis is first presented, followed by a detailed simulation study to assess the overall system performance under dynamic conditions.

  • This paper deal with problems of leakage current, shaft voltage, bearing current, and EMI, in valiable-speed AC drives. The originating mechanism is illustrated with a high-frequency equivalent circuit. Reduction methods are classified in to six categories based on the equivalent circuit. Some experimental results show that a common-mode transformer (CMT) and a common-noise canceler (ACC) can solve the problems, which have been proposed the authors.

  • Nondestructive and destructive tests were performed the stator windings of three high voltage motors prior to the rewind. Nondestructive tests included ac current increase rate($\Delta$I), dissipation factor(${\Delta}tan{\delta}$), and maximum partial discharge(Qm) The destructive tests included breakdown at three phases with ac voltage. Flashover occurred between the connected winding of endwinding and the stator flame. In two cases creeping discharge occurred between the individual phase windings and the wedges In the stator ends. The results of destructive tests could rarely be determined the breakdown voltage.

  • The electric locomotive make a development by using as a trial petition way on the basis of finding for several years in 1996 and the electric locomotive in KNR railway electrification section of AC25KV 60Hz, can couple with passenger train of 700 ton doing running possibility from evenness to maximum running speed 140Km/h, Specially, propulsion equipment operates three phase AC motor that behaves axle control by VVVF inverter and affords higher axle per tractive effort as behaving control by SIBAS32 that up-to-date technology is integrated. Also, new style electric locomotive is designed so that can run in -35∼45 climatic condition.

  • A control technique for current-fed filters is proposed which not only eliminates the harmonic current, but also controls the reactive power at the ac sides of PWM inverter-induction motor drive system. Also it enables the input fundamental power factor to become unity and hence total input power factor can be improved greatly. Digital simulation is performed to investigate the theoretical output characteristics of the current-fed filters by the proposed control technique.

  • Recently, many nations have released standard such as EN61000-3-2 to impose a limit on the harmonic current to prevent distortion of AC line and to save energy. Also, the limit on the harmonic current makes use of a trade barrier. Therefore, Power factor correction must have been suitable for a limit on the harmonic current. This paper presents AC servo motor drive to have merits of high power factor for Desk-Top Robot.
