Electrical Behaviors of ZnO Elements under Combined Direct and Alternating Voltages

  • This paper presents the characteristics of leakage currents flowing through zinc oxide (ZnO) surge arrester elements under the combined direct-current (DC) and 60 Hz alternating-current (AC) voltages. The current-voltage characteristic curves (I-V curves) of the commercial ZnO surge arrester elements were obtained as a function of the voltage ratio a. At constant peak value of the combined DC and AC voltage, the resistive leakage current of the ZnO blocks was significantly increased as the voltage ratio $\alpha$ increased. The I-V curves under the combined DC and AC voltages were placed between the pure DC and AC characteristics, and the cross-over phenomenon in both the I-V curves and R-V curves was observed at the low current region. The ZnO power dissipation for DC voltages was less than that for AC voltage in the pre-breakdown region and reversed at higher voltages.

가변부하 적용을 위한 고정밀 교류전원 제어시스템 (A High-precision AC Power Control System for Variable Loads Application)

  • 고정밀 교류전원 제어시스템은 교통관제등과 같은 가변 부하를 운영하는데 중요하다. 이러한 시스템은 가변부하에 대응하기 위하여 제어의 정밀성이 요구되며, 이를 위하여 AC/DC/AC 변환이 가능한 인버터를 주로 사용하게 된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 고정밀 전류제어를 수행하기 위하여 개선된 전류계측 기법을 이용한 제어시스템을 제안하였다. 제안된 계측기법은 전류의 궤환된 계측을 순시적 실효치의 이동평균법을 사용하여 응답 및 정밀성을 개선한 방식이다. 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 및 실험의 결과는 제안된 시스템의 타당성을 입증할 수 있었으며, 이는 항공관제 유도시스템의 조명제어 장치에도 폭넓게 적용되리라 사료된다.

  • $\cdot$방식분야에서 직류부식은 많이 연구되어 왔지만, 교류부식은 직류에 비래 부식률이 매우 낮다는 이유로 소홀히 연구되어 왔다. 그러나 최근 유럽을 비롯한 북미에서도 교류부식에 의한 사고가 빈발하게 발생하기 시작하였다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 가스배관의 교류부식에 대한 특성을 실험실 시험과 현장에서의 실 사례 연구를 통하여 규명하였다.

  • A 30kW electrical power conversion system is developed for a variable speed wind turbine. In the wind energy conversion system(WECS) a synchronous generator with field current excitation converts the mechanical energy into electrical energy. As the voltage and the frequency of the generator output vary according to the wind speed, a 6-bridge diode rectifier and a PWM boost chopper is utilized as an ac-dc converter maintaining the constant dc-link voltage with only single switch control. An input current control algorithm for maximum power generation during the variable speed operation is proposed without any usage of speed sensor. Grid connection type PWM inverter converts dc input power to ac output currents into the grid. The active power to the grid is controlled by q-axis current and the reactive power is controlled by d-axis current with appropriate decoupling. The phase angle of utility voltage is detected using software PLL(Phased Locked Loop) in d-q synchronous reference frame. Experimental results from the test of 30kW prototype wind turbine system show that the generator power can be controlled effectively during the variable speed operation without any speed sensor.

교류 순방향 바이어스에 따른 형광 OLED의 전계 발광 특성 (Electroluminescent Characteristics of Fluorescent OLED with Alternating Current Forward Bias)

  • In order to study the AC driving mechanism for OLED lighting, the fluorescent OLEDs were fabricated and the electroluminescent characteristics of the OLEDs by AC forward bias were analyzed. In the case of the driving method of OLED by AC forward bias under the same voltage and the same current density, degradation of luminescent characteristics for elapsed time progressed faster than in the case of the driving method by DC bias. These phenomena were caused by the peak voltage of AC forward bias which is ${\sqrt{2}}$ times higher than the DC voltage. In addition, the degradation of the OLED was accelerated because the AC forward bias had come close to the upper limit of the allowable voltage range even though the peak voltage didn't exceed the allowable range of the OLED. However, the fabricated fluorescent OLED showed little degradation of OLED characteristics due to AC forward bias from 0 V to 6.04 V. Therefore, OLED lighting by AC driving will become commercialized if sufficient luminance is realized at a voltage at which the characteristics of the OLED are not degradation by the AC driving method.

  • This paper presents a new driving method that can drive AC PDPs with low voltage and controlled-current for the sustaining period. The discharge current flowing into the AC PDP is limited in this method. Thus, the power consumption for the discharge is reduced and the discharge input power to output luminance efficiency is improved. Experimental results using this driving method showed that we could drive an AC PDP with a voltage source as low as 146 V and that luminous efficiency of 1.33 lm/W can be achieved.

Parallel Connected High Frequency AC Link Inverters Based on Full Digital Control

  • This paper presents a full digital control strategy for parallel connected modular inverter systems. Each modular inverter is a high frequency (HF) AC link inverter which is composed of a HF inverter and a HF transformer followed by a cycloconverter. To achieve equal sharing of the load current and to suppress the circulating currents among the modules, a three-loop control strategy, consisting of a common output voltage regulation (OVR) loop, individual circulating current suppression (CCS) loops and individual inner current tracking (ICT) loops, is proposed. The ICT loops are implemented with predictive current control from which high precision current tracking can be obtained. The effectiveness of the proposed control strategy is verified by simulation and experimental results from parallel connected two full-bridge HF AC link inverter modules.

교류서보 전동기의 전류관측기를 이용한 속도 센서리스 제어 (Speed Sensorless Control Using Current Observer for AC Servo Motor)

  • This paper proposed a new speed sensorless control method for AC servo motor, which is based on the current observer. Recently, the study in the estimation using a observer is being widely progressed. In order to prove the superiority of the current observer, we made a comparison between the simulation using current observer and that using Luenberger observer. And also, a comparative experiment of the speed control of the AC servo motor using a sensor and using current observer has been executed. The experiment result shows that the estimation using current observer is superior to the estimation using Luenberger observer or to the speed response using a sensor.

  • AC 코로나와 DC 코로나 처리 효과들을 비교하기 위해 선행연구의 DC 코로나 처리 조건들과 같이 폴리에스테르 직물들을 전류세기 5, 10, 15 A로, 공급속도 5, 10, 15 m/min로 AC 코로나 처리하였다. 이들의 표면변화를 주사전자현미경(SEM)과 X-ray 광전자분석기(XPS)로 확인하였고, 또한 물리적 성질의 변화를 건조 시와 습윤 시의 접착강도를 통하여 측정하였다. 대기압에서 AC 코로나 방전처리에 의해 폴리에스테르 직물의 표면변화는 DC 코로나 방전과 유사한 경향을 보였다. 일반적으로 AC, DC 코로나 처리 양쪽에서 건조 시의 접착강도는 전류세기와 공급속도가 증가할수록 증가하였으나, 습윤 시의 접착강도는 전류세기가 증가할수록 공급속도가 감소할수록 증가하였다. 전류가 20 A일 때 DC 코로나 방전에서는 탄화가 발생하였으나 AC 코로나에서는 탄화가 발생하지 않았다.

광섬유 마이켈슨 간섭계형 교류 전류센서 (Fiber-Optic Michelson Interferometric AC Current Sensor)

  • 인가 전압에 의해 수축 팽창하는 원통형 PZT tube와 단일모드 광섬유를 이용하여 마이켈슨 간섭계형 교류 전류센서를 제작하였다. 본 연구에 사용된 신호처리장치는 측정전류의 주파수에 무관하게 전류의 크기를 측정할 수 있었다. 전류의 크기는 교류 전류의 반주기 내에 생기는 간섭무늬의 개수로 측정하였다. 간섭무늬의 개수는 전류의 크기에 따라 선형적으로 변화하였으며, 온도변화($-20^{\circ}C{\sim}\;80^{\circ}C$)에 따른 오차는 5% 이내였다.
