냉간 압축 하에서 금속 분말의 치밀화 거동 (Densification Behavior of Metal Powder under Cold Compaction)

  • Densification behavior of aluminum alloy(A16061) powder was investigated under cold compaction. Experimental data were obtained under triaxial compression with various loading conditions. A special form of the Cap model was proposed from experimental data of A16061 powder under triaxial compression. The proposed yield function and several yield functions in the literature were implemented into a finite element program (ABAQUS) to compare with experimental data for densification behavior of A16061 powder under cold isostatic pressing and die compaction. The agreement between finite element calculations from the proposed yield function and experimental data is very good under cold isostatic pressing and die compaction.

  • An efficient method for calculating the nonlinear stiffness of the Progressive Multi-Leaf Spring is developed and evaluated. It utilizes the interaction between the main and help spring that induces the nonlinearity. The main and the help springs are modeled as multi-leaf cantilever beams, and, then, they are integrated as one by connecting the two models for each side of the Progressive Multi-Leaf Spring at the center-bolt. The results from the developed model are evaluated by use of the commercial FEA program, ABAQUS. The nonlinear spring coefficients calculated by FEM analysis yield the numbers very close to the numbers calculated for the spring coefficients by used of the developed method. From the comparative evaluations, the developed method is accurate enough and very efficient in calculation time for evaluating the nonlinear spring property of the Progressive Multi-Leaf Spring.

  • The effect of the metal mold on densification behavior of stainless steel 316L powder was investigated under warm isostatic pressing with metal mold. We use lead as metal mold and obtain experimental data of metal mold property. To simulate densification of metal powder, the elastoplastic constitutive equation proposed by Shima and Oyane was implemented into a finite element program (ABAQUS) under warm die pressing and warm isostatic pressing with metal mold. Finite element results were compared with experimental data for densification and deformation of metal powder under warm isostatic pressing and warm die pressing.

속도 독립성 결정소성모델의 유한요소해석 (Finite Element Analysis for Rate-Independent Crystal Plasticity Model)

  • Rate-independent crystal plasticity model suffers from the non-uniqueness of activated slip systems and the determination of the shear slip rates on the active slip systems. In this paper, a time-integration algorithm which circumvents the problem of the multiplicity of the slip systems was developed and implemented into the user subroutine VUMAT of a commercial finite element program ABAQUS. The magnitude of the slip shears on the active slip systems in f.c.c Cu single crystal aligned with the specific crystallographic orientation was investigated to validate our solution procedure. Also, texture developments under various deformation modes such as simple compression, simple tension and plane strain compression were compared with the results of the rate-dependent model by using the rate-independent crystal plasticity model. The computation time employing the rate-independent model is much more reduced than the those of the rate-dependent model.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the algorithm for dynamic interaction analysis of submerged floating tunnel and vehicles. The dynamic behavior characteristic of submerged floating tunnel is certainly different with general structures, because the submerged floating tunnel is floating in the middle of water, and subjected to constant buoyance. Therefore the analyses in various aspects should be carried out to secure structural stability and practicality of structures. To conduct the dynamic interaction analysis, the structure is modeled by commercial FEM program ABAQUS to investigate modal characteristic. Also the added mass concept is applied to represent the inertial force by a fluid, and then dynamic interaction analyses are conducted with superposition method when the KTX is moving along the submerged floating tunnel. And the time histories are presented for vertical and lateral displacement at the center of the tunnel.

  • In this study, the die design and die series on the surface residual stress of cold drawn eutectoid steel wire has been investigated. Test pieces were fabricated using die series with different mean and final reduction ratio. Surface residual stresses in the axial direction were measured by X-ray diffraction, Broker's 2-dimensional GADDS system. Results were compared with stress profiles which were calculated by 3D and 2D finite element simulation, Hibbitt's ABAQUS 6.4 program in Finite Element Analysis. By means of FEA method, optimal die shape considering delta-parameter were induced and applied in order to determine die sequence designs. Balance of the drawing stresses was also introduced to optimize die sequence.

  • Unique constitutive behavior of magnesium alloys as one of hexagonal close packed(hcp) metals has been implemented into the commercial finite element program ABAQUS. The constitutive equations can represent asymmetry in tension-compression yield stresses and flow curves. For the verification purpose, the springback of AZ31B magnesium alloy sheet was measured using the unconstrained cylindrical bending test proposed in Numisheet'2002 benchmark committee. Besides the developed constitutive models, the isotropic models based on tensile and compressive properties were also considered for comparison purpose. The predicted results by the finite element analysis and corresponding experiments showed enhanced prediction capability in springback analysis.

  • This study is on acoustic radiation efficiency of a tiffened cylindrical model in water-multi-excitation with phase difference using commercial numerical program ABAQUS and SYSNOISE. When the stiffened cylindrical model is under multi-excitation with phase difference, the surface vibration field is variated with phase difference of excitation. By this different surface vibration field, the acoustic radiation efficiency is also variated with phase difference of excitation.
