A Simple and Robust Digital Current Control for a PM Synchronous Motor under the Parameter Variations

  • A simple and robust digital current control technique for a permanent magnet (PM) synchronous motor under the parameter variations is presented. Among the various current control schemes for an inverter-fed PM synchronous motor drive, the predictive control is known to give a superior performance. This scheme, however, requires the full knowledge of machine parameters and operating conditions, and cannot give a satisfactory response under the parameter mismatch. To overcome such a limitation, the disturbances caused by the parameter variations will be estimated by using a disturbance observer theory and used for the computation of the reference voltages by a feedforward control. Thus, the steady-state control performance can be significantly improved with a relatively simple control algorithm, while retaining the good characteristics of the predictive control. The proposed control scheme is implemented on a PM synchronous motor using the software of DSP TMS320C30 and the effectiveness is verified through the comparative simulations and experiments.

  • Generally, Slotless PM BLDC drive system is necessary that the three Hall-ICs evenly be distributed around the stator circumference and encoder be installed in case of the 3 phase motor. So, the Hall-ICs are set up in this motor to detect the main flux from the rotor, and the output signal from Hall-ICs is used to drive a power transistor to control the winding current. However, instead of using three Hall-ICs and encoder, we used only two Hall-ICs for the permanent magnet rotor position and for the speed feedback signals, and also for a microcontroller of 16-bit type (80C196KC) with the 3 phase Slotless PM BLDC whose six stator and two rotor designed. Two Hall-IC Hc and $H_B$ are placed on the endplate at 120 degree intervals, and with these elements, we can estimate information of the others phase in sequence through a rotating rotor.

  • In this paper, we designed and implemented a precise pulse motor control chip that generates the parabolic speed pattern. This chip can control step motor[1], DC servo[2] and AC servo motors at high speed and precisely. It can reduce the mechanical vibration to the minimum at the change point of a degree of acceleration. Because the parabolic speed pattern has the continuous acceleration change. In this paper, we present the pulse generation algorithm and the parabolic pattern speed generation. We verify these algorithm using visual C++. We designed this chip with VHDL(Very High Speed Integrated Circuit Hardware Description Language) and executed a logic simulation and synthesis using Synopsys synthesis tool. We executed the pre-layout simulation and post-layout simulation with Verilog-XL simulation tool. This chip was produced with 100 pins, PQFP package by 0.35 um CMOS process and implemented by completely digital logic. We developed the hardware test board and test program using visual C++. We verify the performance of this chip by driving the servo motor and the function by GUI(Graphic User Interface) environment.

  • In this paper, the authors propose a new high performance Built-in Type spindle motor drive using vector-controlled technique at 15,000 r/min. Control method is changed by variation of motor speed in a conventional Built-in type spindle drive. In the drive system to be presented, the conventional vector control is used in the low-speed range, and the vector control without encoder is used in the high-speed range. Furthermore, in order to drive the motor from 0 to 15,000 rpm smoothly, the vector control with encoder in the low-speed range (from 0 to 8,000 rpm) is utilized and the vector control without encoder in the high-speed range (from 8,000 to 15,000 rpm) is utilized. 자동차용 연료펌프모터 정류자의 단조공정 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Forging Process Development of the Commutator of an Automotive fuel Pump)

  • The commutator of an automotive fuel pump motorhas been produced through various processes such as forging, segmenting, and assembling. And the conventional method producing the commutator of an automotive fuel pump motor is not appropriate for saving material and cost, because it makes each segment separated one by one. Therefore a new process design is required in order to avoid the assembling process. In this study, a new process design of the commutator has been carried out to save material and manufacturing time by FE analysis. In the FE analysis, three forging processes are proposed for producing copper(ASTM C11000) commutator of an automotive fuel pump motor. And forging experiments are performed to make an unsegmented commutator in order to verify the theoretically proposed process. And then, in order to get the final product the forged commutator is passed through various postprocessing such as machining, bending, resin forming, and shearing process. From the experimental result the forging process proposed from the FE analysis is verified to be an economical method for producing the commutator for an automotive fuel pump motor.

Schizosaccharomyces pombe의 Kinesin 유전자의 클로닝과 염기서열분석 (Cloning and Sequence Analysis of the Kinesin Gene in Schizosaccharomyces pombe)

  • Kinesin은 Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Aspergillus nidulans, Drosophila melanogaster 등에서 발견 되었으며 dynein 과 더불어 세포분열 과정중 chromosome 의 이동과 spindle pole 의 분리에 관련된 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존에 발견된 kinesin 유사 유전자의 homology 가 많은 motor domain을 이용하여 primer를 합성한 후 이를 이용하여 Schizosaccharomyces pombe 로부터 kinesin heavy chain 의 유전자를 클론하였다. 염기서열을 결정한 결과 2496 bp의 해독틀을 가지고 있으며 832개의 아미노산으로 이루어진 분자량이 96 kd의 kinesin heavy chain을 암호화하는 것이 밝혀졌다. 기존에 밝혀진 다른 organism 의 kinesin 과 서열을 비교한 결과 새로이 클론된 S.pombe 의 kinesin 은 C-terminal motor subfamily 에 속함이 밝혀졌다.

Direct Torque Control System of a Reluctance Synchronous Motor Using a Neural Network

  • This paper presents an implementation of high performance control of a reluctance synchronous motor (RSM) using a neural network with a direct torque control. The equivalent circuit in a RSM, which considers iron losses, is theoretically analyzed. Also, the optimal current ratio between torque current and exiting current is analytically derived. In the case of a RSM, unlike an induction motor, torque dynamics can only be maintained by controlling the flux level because torque is directly proportional to the stator current. The neural network is used to efficiently drive the RSM. The TMS320C3l is employed as a control driver to implement complex control algorithms. The experimental results are presented to validate the applicability of the proposed method. The developed control system shows high efficiency and good dynamic response features for a 1.0 [kW] RSM having a 2.57 ratio of d/q.

A Nonlinear Speed Control for a PM Synchronous Motor Using a Simple Disturbance Estimation Technique

  • A nonlinear speed control for a permanent magnet (PM) synchronous motor using a simple disturbance estimation technique is presented. By using a feedback linearization, scheme, the nonlinear motor model can be linearized. To compensate an undesirable output performance under the mismatch of the system parameters and load conditions the controller parameters will be estimated by using a disturbance observer theory. Since only the two reduced-order observers are used for the parameter estimation, the observer designs are considerably simple and the computational load of the controller for parameter estimation is negligibly small. The proposed control scheme is implemented on a PM synchronous motor using DSP TMS320C31 and the effectiveness is verified through the comparative experiments.

  • BLDC motor is widely used in industrial drive applications due to high efficiency, high power and easy maintenance. However position and speed sensors generally used in BLDC motor increase drive cost, and reduce application range. This study describes sensorless speed control using instantaneous voltage-current equation, and presents the results of computer simulation.
