  • The present research applies the Theory of Harmony through Holistic Engagement to the foreign policy of Japan. As the third largest economy in the world and one of the most highly developed countries in the world, Japan is a major international power. Most analysts interpret Japan’s foreign policy through the lenses of realist, exceptionalist, or liberal institutionalist approaches. All the previously mentioned approaches tend to be based on etic studies conducted from the point of view of outsiders. The present interpretation of Japanese foreign policy applies an emic model based on primary sources from the Greater East Asian region and concludes that the Model of Harmony through Holistic Engagement shows considerable explanatory traction in interpreting the direction and development of Japanese foreign policy, in particular in the last two to three decades.

  • The research about methodology to educate professional storytellers should be done very actively. As many people became interested in digital storytelling lately, many theoretical researches about game storytelling are being made in varied aspects. However, systematic methodology to educate game storytellers still remains in theoretic level, so that we can hardly find the outputs brought by the fusion of practical and theoretical knowledges. In this paper, I made a list of 4 core e1ements(character, event, world view, interactive factors of game) which construct the narratives of games to elevate the quality of practical game storytelling. The goal of this research is to complete the practical information list in detail, in order to deliver storytellers' creative ideas precisely to the game designers in every parts.

  • The mobile-phone which Camera was put on was released at the end of 2000 and dramatically puts up the deployment ratio because not only simple Camera but also a function that the photograph which I took is dispatched was added. It is the force that demand in this year presses 600,000,000 sale of a mobile-phone is estimated to be 960,000,000 of them in 2006, and to be able to include two errands with a support model after 3G. A person of entry to a camera-module appear much. In addition, the various kinds of products open markedly which a product comes to be known widely in the world, and the application range has opened widely, and considered QCDT come to be key issues for answer to market demand. By manufacturing industry, there is peculiar culture to each industry, camera-module is the composition the various industries. The construction of true Supply-chain becomes unavoidable to make a good product. I describe the point that the situation of each supply-chain and the direction for the future by the view point of module assembly maker.

Kant on 'the Highest Good of a Possible World' (칸트에서 '가능한 세계의 최고선')

  • In order to locate Kant's concept of the highest good within ethics and the theory of moral religion, it needs to be approached with some qualifications: there are two rough ways to be suggested. The first way is to focus on the concept of the highest good that is explained in terms of the happiness in proportion to a rational being's virtue or to his/her worthiness to be happy. But the happiness determined in the sense outlined above would be (increasingly or decreasingly) changeable according to each one's individual morality-this is what is meant by each one's 'worthiness' here-, and would not be seen as the perfect one. It might even be said that this kind of happiness is possible in a sensible world generally taken, if the existence of God thought of as harmonizing natural phenomena and the moral order is successfully presupposed. The other way is to understand the concept of the highest good literally: in this view, the highest good shows that a rational being's character is completely appropriate to the moral law and for him/her, its corresponding idea, i.e., the perfect happiness, is considered with full justification. But the highest good in the sense sketched above-along with the existence of God and the immortality of the soul-is expected to be realized only in an intelligible world generally taken. This means that it should be appraised as an ideal of the highest good that includes the so-called 'physical happiness' specified in terms of the first way as its element. In this regard, it is seen to be somewhat restricted. Between the two concepts of the highest good already touched upon, the highest good of the possible world would be the one established in terms of the first way. In other words, it is not the highest good in an intelligible world, but the highest good in this world. Of course, it is true that we cannot help but assume the existence of God-a being as higher, as moral, as most holy, and as omnipotent-in order to explain the highest good in this world (namely, in order to establish the possibility of the combination of the happiness and the worthiness). For as long as both morally good acts and the happiness are considered to happen in a natural world, the cause of the nature (i.e., the existence of its creator), that is, God, must be able to be presupposed. In this vein, Kant interprets that most people view that the key of the Bible is to show that the best world which is characterized by an intelligible or heavenly kingdom is also actually feasible in this world. The wish of the people who have the morally good character is that God's kingdom comes and his will is properly achieved in this world. But we cannot know what God really does in order to realize his world in this world. Nonetheless, we are fully aware of what we should do in order to make ourselves a member of his world. It is specified like this: we should do our ethical duties and further proceed to establish an ethical community. Viewed this manner, it is concluded that an ethical community is not a merely ideal thing like the kingdom of the ends, but a human apparatus or institution that exists in this world.

  • This study aims at scrutinizing the etymological meanings and literal usages of the term Gyung perse so as to clarify the traditional concepts formualted in the northeastern Asian countries. Related classical dictionaries and literatures in Korea and China were consulted intensively. Strictly speaking, the compound word gyung-gwan(景觀) composed of gyung(景:seen objects) and gwan(觀:seeing) in terms of word formation is not the synonym of the English term Landscpe. The Chinese character Gyung(景) composed of the character il(日:the Sun) and the character gyung(京:royal palace or capital city) originally indicated a brilliant and beautiful view of the capital city seen in a clear and bright daylight. Thereafter this ideographic letter had been used to indicate an unusual view which is aesthetically and can be used as a typical landscape schema or a model. Due to intrinsic nature of this kind of view, the meanings of gyung had been extended connotativelly as well as denotativelly: the meaning worthy of note in terms of landscape studies ar l) visible object which places some physical and psychological distance from the observer; 2)the scene or the backdrop of a theater, 3)a defined vista. With these in mind, meanings and usages of related terms as Kwung(光:light or bright), Pung(風:wind or fresh). Chi(致:fine), Mul(物:object or world), Gae (槪:general), Seung(勝:outstanding or surpassing), Saek(色:color or colorful), which had produced diversified and delicate connotations through compounding with the etymon Gyung, were reviewed.

  • The video surveillance system is adopted in many places due to its efficiency and constancy in monitoring a specific area over a long period of time. However, many surveillance systems composed of a single static camera often produce unsatisfactory results due to their lack of field of view. In this paper, we present a video surveillance system based on wide baseline stereo cameras to overcome the limitation. We adopt the codebook algorithm and mathematical morphology to robustly model the foreground pixels of the moving object in the scene and calculate the trajectory of the moving object via 3D reconstruction. The experimental results show that the proposed system detects a moving object and generates a top view trajectory successfully to track the location of the object in the world coordinates.

  • The availability of computers and the wide network of the internet of the 'Information Society' has created a new space: Cyberspace. In this situations, the matters of individual identities and morality are more important problems. Korean classical novel, Gu Wun Mong, embodied the exploration process of identities in virtual spaces, has gravity of a situation. Seong Jin, the hero experienced the life of Yang so you went throughing virtual life, be born again. And he met eight taoist fairy in that virtual world. In this process, Seong Jin overcame a dualistic world of view and established identity of genuine truth-seeker. The 'Dream-fantasy' experience differentiation real world and virture world and give to Seong Jin a new identity, So You. Seong Jin used avatar, So You was free from limits of self and became obtain multiple personalities. Finally, Seong Jin realized the fact that real world and virtual one is the same, for development self-perception. Seong Jin's enlightment provided solutions for modern netizens, who is ambivalent about contradiction the real and virtual, infinity and clash of desire.

  • Greek myth is a play of imagination. It represents world with magic eye. The Greek myth of Homer and Hesiod is the story of gods. But it is the world of imagination which was produced to understand the origins and the causes of natural phenomena with the symbolic factors. It is the frame with which we understand the destiny of human beings. As a world of imagination, Myth is not a total fiction but a symbolically revived world with magic eye. Myth is a play which represents the world with imagination. And it is a play which projects new world yet not exists. Myth is the world of free play with reproduction and imagination. Heraclitus elucidated the structure and change of world with the metaphor of play. He tried to define the meaning of being with play. The play is the clue of elucidating the meaning of being. On play the whole world is reflected. He expressed the world has no ultimate end and is changing endlessly. Philosophical speculation understands the world with the metaphor of play. Metaphor is correlated with the philosophical eye which view the world totally. The human beings are happy when they concentrate upon play. The rule of real world doesn't go in the world of play. They have their own rule which goes in the world of play. Ancient mythologists and pre-socratic philosophers dreamed the life free from the restriction of the nature.
