In this study, the compressive strength of cement stabilized soil was predicted using the electrical resistivity measurement. The effects of the water to cement (w/c) ratio and recovered Carbon Black (rCB) contents were examined. A series of electrical resistivity and compressive strength tests were conducted on two types of stabilized soil after 28 days of curing. Multiple nonlinear regression (MNLR) analysis was used to evaluate the relationship between the compressive strength and the electrical resistivity in terms of the rCB, Cu (uniformity coefficient), and w/c ratio. The results showed that the w/c ratio and Cu have a strong influence on the compressive strength and electrical resistivity of the cement stabilized soil compared to the rCB content. The use of a small amount of rCB led to a decrease in the void space in the specimen and was attributed to the increase strength and decrease electrical resistivity. A high w/c ratio also induced a low electrical resistivity and compressive strength, whereas 3% rCB in the cemented soil provided the optimum strength for all w/c ratios. Finally, a prediction equation for the compressive strength using the electrical resistivity measurement was suggested based on its reliability, time effectiveness, non-destructiveness, and cost-effectiveness.
The $V_{1.8}W_{0.2}O_5$ thin films deposited on $Pt/Ti/SiO_2/Si$ substrates by RF sputtering method with different $Ar/O_2$ ratio. The $V_{1.8}W_{0.2}O_5$ thin films were measured electrical and structural properties, fairly good Temperature coefficient of resistance(TCR). It was found that electrical and structural properties, TCR properties of thin films were strongly dependent upon the $Ar/O_2$ ratio. The dielectric constant of the $V_{1.8}W_{0.2}O_5$ thin films with 50/20 ratio were 93 with a dielectric loss of 0.535, respectively. Also, the TCR values of the $V_{1.8}W_{0.2}O_5$ thin films with 50/20 ratio were -3.15%/$^{\circ}C$.
A microbial cryoprotectant formulation using a W/O/W multiple emulsion system was developed. The psychrotolerant microorganism, B4, isolated from soil in South Korea, was observed by the drop freezing method, in which the microorganism sample inhibited ice nucleation activity. The antifreeze activity was eliminated when the microorganism sample was treated with protease, indicating that the antifreeze activity was due to the presence of antifreeze protein. The result of the l6S rDNA sequencing indicated the B4 strain was most closely related to a species of the genus Bacillus. Culture broth of B4 strain (Bacillus sp.) and rapeseed oil containing 1 % polyglycerine polyricinolate (PGPR) were used as core and wall material, respectively. The most stable W/O emulsion was prepared at a core/oil ratio of 1:2. The highest W/O/W emulsion stability was achieved when the primary emulsion to external aqueous phase containing 0.5% caster oil polyoxyethylene ether $(COG25^{TM})$ ratio was 1:1. Microcrystalline cellulose showed better W/O/W emulsion stability than other polymer types. The viability of cells in a W/O/W emulsion was higher than free cells during storage at $37^\circ{C}$. An acidic pH and UV exposure decreased the viability of free cells, but cells in W/O/W emulsion were more stable under these conditions.

This paper presents the fibre-matrix interfacial properties of hooked end steel fibres embedded in ultra-high performance mortars with various water/binder (W/B) ratios. The principle objective was to improve bond behaviour in terms of bond strength by reducing the (W/B) ratio to a minimum. Results show that a decrease in W/B ratio has a significant effect on the bond-slip behaviour of both types of 3D fibres, especially when the W/B ratio was reduced from 0.25 to 0.15. Furthermore, the optimization in maximizing pullout load and total pullout work is found to be more prominent for the 3D fibres with a larger diameter than for fibres with a smaller diameter. On the contrary, increasing the embedded length of the 3D fibres did not result in an improvement on the maximum pullout load, but increase in the total pullout work.

Proof-of-Work (PoW) is the first and still most common consensus protocol in blockchain. But it is costly and energy intensive, aiming at addressing these problems, we propose a consensus algorithm named Proof-of-Work-and-Block-Compression (PoW-BC). PoW-BC is an improvement of PoW to compress blocks and adjust consensus parameters. The algorithm is designed to encourage the reduction of block size, which improves transmission efficiency and reduces disk space for storing blocks. The transaction optimization model and block compression model are proposed to compress block data with a smaller compression ratio and less compression/ decompression duration. Block compression ratio is used to adjust mining difficulty and transaction count of PoW-BC consensus protocol according to the consensus parameters adjustment model. Through experiment and analysis, it shows that PoW-BC improves transaction throughput, and reduces block interval and energy consumption.
In order to investigate the quality characteristics of Prunus persica Batsch var. davidiana Max. preserved in sugar, the quality characteristics were examined by dividing them into four groups: PS-A (P. persica preserved in sugar mixed with sucrose and oligosaccharides at a ratio of 100:0, w/w), PS-B (P. persica preserved in sugar mixed with sucrose and oligosaccharides at a ratio of 60:40, w/w), PS-C (P. persica preserved in sugar mixed with sucrose and oligosaccharides at a ratio of 40:60, w/w) and PS-D (P. persica preserved in sugar mixed with sucrose and oligosaccharides at a ratio of 0:100, w/w). The results were as follows: pH levels and soluble solid contents of PS-D sample were lower than those of the others, however total acidity value were higher. In case of Hunter's value, the 'L', 'a' and 'b' values of all samples were affected by addition of oligosaccharides. No great difference occurred among samples in reducing sugar contents. Organic acid content was significantly decreased with the lower addition of sucrose. The predominating organic acid components analyzed in all samples were lactic acid 156.15 g/100 g, tartaric acid 72.75 g/100 g and citric acid 32.90 g/100 g. The highest contents of total phenol and flavonoid, and DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activity were $10.79{\pm}0.55mg\;GAE/mL$, $8.71{\pm}0.06mg\;CE/mL$ and 71.8%, 71.0% for PS-D, respectively. The results of this study indicated the use of oligosaccharides could increase the quality and antioxidant potentials of P. persica preserved in sugar.

This study was performed to estimate the effects of salinity and washing of food wastes on temperature, pH, and salinity in aerobic composting of food wastes. Weight ratios of food wastes to water in washing were 1:0(Control), 1:1(W-1), 1:2(W-2), 1:3(W-3) and 1:4(W-4), respectively. Ratios of food wastes to wood chips in reactor of Control, W-1, W-2, W-3 and W-4 were 5kg:5L, respectively. Reactors were operated for 24 days with 1 hour stirring by 1 rpm and 2 hours aeration per day. The increase in the ratio of food wastes to water used in washing resulted in the decrease of the highest reaction temperature and the elongation of the high temperature reaction period. The lowering of the ratio of food wastes to water used in washing resulted in faster pH increase The final salinities of Control, W-1, W-2, W-3 and W-4 were 0.95%, 0.73%, 0.65%, 0.57% and 0.41%, respectively.
The purpose of this study was to estimate the intake of individual fatty acid and eventually to contribute to the establishment of dietary guidelines and recommendations of fatty acids for the Koreans. The subjects consisted of female college students aged 20 to 29 years old. Their dietary intake was assessed twice. in summer and in winter, by means of a 24-hour dietary recall method. Food models and other measuring tools were also used. Concentrations of serm total triglyceride, total cholesterol and HDL-& LDL-cholesterol were measured. The subjects consumed 12.3g of polyunsaturated fatty acids, 14.3g of monounsaturated fatty acids and 14.99g of saturated fatty acids per day The ratios of polyunsaturated/saturated fatty acids( P/S) and polyunsaturatedimonounsaturatedi saturated fatty acids (P/M/S) taken by the subjects were 0.8/1.0 and 0.8/l.0/l.0, respectively. The ratio of w61w3 fatty acids was found to be 8.3/l.0. All of these values seem to fall in the desirable range. The percentages of total calorie from carbohydrate. fat and protein were 59.4%, 23.4% and 17.2%, respectively. The concentrations of serum total triglyceride, total cholesterol. HDL-cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol were 59.3ms/dl, 192.7mg/dl, and 59.0mg/dl, and 121.9mg/dl., respectively.
This study was conducted to establish the optimum LED light source and quality for growth of Wasabia japonica seedlings in the LED chamber plant factory system. The light treatments were combined with four colors LED (red, blue, white, far-red), irradiation time ratio of the red and blue LED per minute(1:1, 2:1, 5:1, 10:1), and duty ratio of mixed light (100%, 99%, 97%). The growth response of W. japonica was the greatest in the R + B mixed light treatment, and seedlings grown in the red LED alone was higher than blue LED alone in the monochromic radiation treatments. In the R + B mixed LED, 1:1 ratio of R and B was the best for total biomass and tiller production. In mixed light treatments, the growth response of W. japonica was highest in the 100% duty ratio with R + B mixed light, while that was highest in the 97% duty ratio with R + B + W mixed light. Leaf area and dry weight were increased in the red light treatment alone, while specific leaf area was increased in the blue light alone. With the increasing red LED light ratio, leaf area and dry weight of W. japonica was significantly increased under the R + B mixed light treatment. In mixed light treatments, the leaf growth responses of W. japonica was highest in the 97% duty ratio with R+B mixed light, while that was highest in the 100% duty ratio with R + B + W mixed light. For cultivating W. japonica in a plant factory, treating red LED supplemented with a blue light or higher ratio of the red to blue LED was benefit to promote the growth of W. japonica.
This paper reports the results of an investigation into the effects of silica fume on strength properties of alkali-activated slag cement (AASC) with water-binder (W/B) ratio and replacement ratio of silica fume content. The W/B ratio varied between 0.50 and 0.60 at a constant increment of 0.05. The silica fume content varied from 0% to 50% by weight of slag. The activators was used sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and the dosage of activator was 3M. The strength development with W/B ratio has been studied at different ages of 1, 3, 7 and 28 days. For mixes of AASC mortars with varying silica fume content, the flow values were lower than the control mixes (without silica fume). The flow value was decrease as the content of silica fume increase. This is because the higher surface areas of silica fume particles increase the water requirement. The analysis of these results indicates that, increasing the silica fume content in AASC mortar also increased the compressive strength. Moreover, the strength decreases with the W/B ratios increases. This is because the particle sizes of silica fume are smaller than slag. The high compressive strength of blended slag-silica fume mortars was due to both the filler effect and the activated reaction of silica fume evidently giving the mortar matrix a denser microstructure, thereby resulting in a significant gain in strength.
