우리나라와 일본의 초등학교 수학 교과서에 제시된 비율의 정의 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study on Definition of Ratios in Elementary School Mathematics Textbooks between Korean and Japanese)

  • 본 논문에서는 비율 관련 용어(비율, 비, 비의 값, 백분율, 비례식)의 정의에 초점을 맞추어 우리나라와 일본의 초등학교 수학 교과서를 비교하였다. 그 결과 두 나라의 교과서 사이에 상당한 차이가 있음을 알 수 있었다. 일본 교과서는 우리나라 교과서와는 다르게, 외적 비율과 내적 비율을 구분해서 정의하고 있으며, 비(a:b)를 내적 비율의 하위 개념으로 설정하고 있다. 또, 비와 백분율은 내적 비율에 한정하여 그 표시 방법으로 제시하고 있다. 이러한 비교 결과로부터, 우리나라 수학 교과서 개발에서 참고할 수 있을 만한 다음의 4가지 시사점을 결론으로 제시하고자 한다. 첫째는 비율은 내적 비율을 의미하는 것으로 한정할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 내적 비율로서의 비율을 내포적으로 정의하여 비의 선행 개념으로 설정할 필요가 있다. 셋째, 백분율과 관련해서 1%를 내적 비율을 나타내는 0.01로 정의하는 것을 생각해 볼 수 있다. 넷째, 비를 내적 비율의 표시 방법으로 볼 때, 이 비를 하나의 수로 나타낸 것을 비의 값으로 정의할 필요가 있다.

Assessment of Radiographic Left Atrial Dimension in Maltese Dogs with ACVIM Stage B Myxomatous Mitral Valve Disease

  • Radiographic left atrial dimension (RLAD) is a useful measurement to assess left atrial enlargement in dogs. There are studies on the use of RLAD on various breeds of dogs, but no study on a specific breed with myxomatous mitral valve disease (MMVD). This study was conducted to compare RLAD measurements in Maltese dogs with MMVD ACVIM stage B1 and B2, and also to investigate the correlation of RLAD with the LA:Ao ratio. A total of 29 Maltese dogs were the subjects of this study. Each dog was diagnosed with MMVD ACVIM stage B1 or B2 based on physical examination, thoracic radiography, and echocardiography. The vertebral heart size (VHS), RLAD, LVIDDn, and LA:Ao ratio were measured and compared to evaluate the differences. There were significant differences in the RLAD, LVIDDn, and LA:Ao ratio between dogs with MMVD ACVIM stage B1 and those with stage B2. There was a significant correlation between the LA:Ao ratio and both the RLAD and VHS measurements, but the correlation coefficient was higher for RLAD. The RLAD scores exhibited a significant difference between dogs with ACVIM Stage B1 and with those with B2, and these scores had a higher correlation with the LA:Ao ratio measured by echocardiography than with VHS.

Effects of deck's width-to-depth ratios and turbulent flows on the aerodynamic behaviors of long-span bridges

  • This study investigates the effects of a bridge deck's width-to-depth (B/H) ratio and turbulence on buffeting response and flutter critical wind speed of long-span bridges by conducting section model tests. A streamlined box section and a plate girder section, each with four B/H ratios, were tested in smooth and turbulent flows. The results show that for the box girders, the response increases with the B/H ratio, especially in the vertical direction. For the plate girders, the vertical response also increases with the B/H ratio. However, the torsional response decreases as the B/H ratio increases. Increasing the B/H ratio and intensity of turbulence tends to improve the bridge's aerodynamic stability. Experimental results obtained from the section model tests agree reasonably with the calculated results obtained from a numerical analysis.

농업용 저수지의 소수력 개발을 위한 경제성 분석 (Economic Feasibility Analysis for Development of Small Hydropower Using Agricultural Reservoirs)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effect of hydropower factors (watershed, gross head), operation ratio and unit electricity cost on the benefit-cost ratio (B/C ratio) of small hydropower using agricultural reservoirs. The equation of B/C ratio was expressed as a function of watershed area, gross head, operation ratio and unit electricity cost. The benefit increased with watershed area, gross head and unit electricity cost, while the cost increased with watershed area and gross head but decreased with operation ratio. The B/C ratio increased with watershed area, gross head, operation ratio and unit electricity cost. While the effect of gross head on the B/C ratio decreased with watershed area, the effect of operation ratio and unit electricity cost on the B/C ratio increased with watershed area. The operation ratio is an important factor to affect the B/C ratio and therefore we need to develop hydropower for the heightened dams to expect high operation ratio due to continuous water release. The unit electricity cost is also an important factor to affect the B/C ratio and the B/C ratio was always below 1 unless unit electricity cost is over 60 Won/kWh under given conditions. The reservoirs with economic feasibility for small hydropower development were three in 21 when the equation of B/C ratio was appled to the study reservoirs. The results can be used to choose the appropriate reservoir with economic feasibility for development of small hydropower.

물-결합재 비와 잔골재-결합재 비에 따른 알칼리 활성화 슬래그 모르타르의 기초특성 (The Fundamental Properties of Alkali-Activated Slag Cement (AASC) Mortar with Different Water-Binder Ratios and Fine Aggregate-Binder Ratios)

  • 본 연구는 물-결합재 비 (W/B)와 잔골재-결합재 비 (F/B)에 따른 알칼리 활성화 슬래그 시멘트 (AASC)의 기초 특성에 관한 연구이다. W/B 비는 0.35, 0.40, 0.45, 그리고 0.50를 선정하였다. 그리고 F/B 비는 1.00에서 3.00까지 0.25 크기로 고려하였다. 알칼리 활성화제는 2M과 4M의 NaOH를 사용하였다. 실험은 플로우, 흡수율, 압축강도, 초음파 속도 그리고 건조수축을 측정하여 비교하였다. 플로우, 압축강도, 흡수율, 초음파 속도 그리고 건조수축 모두 W/B 비가 증가하면 감소하였다. 압축강도는 동일 W/B 비에서 F/B 비가 증가할수록 감소하였다. 또한 특정 F/B 비에서 강도가 증가하는 것을 볼 수 있었다. 그리고 S2 (river sand 2)는 S1 (river sand 1)보다 낮은 물리적 특성을 나타냈는데, 이는 조립률 때문으로 판단된다. 본 실험의 결과 AASC의 공학적 특성은 W/B 비와 F/B 비가 영향을 주는 것으로 판단된다. 최적의 F/B 비는 각 W/B 비에 대해 1.75~2.50 인 것으로 생각된다. 또한 W/(B+F) 비가 0.13과 0.14 사이일 때 AASC 모르타르의 배합설계가 효과적일 것으로 판단된다.

3D 프린터용 시멘트 복합체의 간극비가 출력성과 적층성에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Void Ratio on Extrudability and Buildability of Cement-based Composites Produced by 3D Printers)

  • 3D 프린팅용 시멘트 복합체 모르타르의 재료적 특성을 평가하고 굳지 않은 상태에서의 모르타르 간극비를 단일지표로 하여 프린팅이 가능한 성능 범위를 산출하였다. 시험 결과, W/B가 증가하면 모르타르 흐름값은 증가하였으며 밀도와 강도는 감소하였다. SS/B가 증가하면 모르타르 흐름값은 감소하였다. 그러나 강도와 밀도는 특정 SS/B까지 증가하다 감소하였다. Ad/B가 증가할수록 모르타르 흐름값, 밀도, 강도는 감소하였다. 이러한 경향성은 따른 3D 프린팅용 모르타르의 목표 성능 만족하기 위한 배합설계를 어렵게 한다. 한편, 간극비가 증가할수록 모르타르 흐름값은 비례적으로 증가하는 반면 밀도와 강도는 감소하는 경향을 보였으며, 그 상관성은 높게 나타났다. 이는 배합설계에 따른 재료적 특성을 제어하는 단일지표로서 간극비를 활용할 수 있음을 나타낸다. 3D 프린터로 출력 가능한 모르타르 배합범위를 시험한 결과, 간극비가 0.6~0.7일 때 출력이 가능하였다. 이를 검증하기 위해 W/B 35.0 %, SS/B 60.0 %, Ad/B 0.1%를 배합하여 간극비를 0.634로 설계했을 때 출력이 가능하였다. 그러나 3D 프린팅 출력 모르타르의 품질을 향상하기 위해서는 혼화제를 활용하는 추가적인 연구가 필요하다.

Effect of SiO2/B2O3 ratio on Li ion conductivity of a Li2O-B2O3-SiO2 glass electrolyte

  • A lithium ion conducting borosilicate glass was fabricated by a conventional melt quenching technique from a mixture of Li2CO3, B2O3 and SiO2 powders. The Li ion conductivity of the lithium borosilicate glasses was evaluated in terms of the SiO2/B2O3 ratio. In the Li2O-B2O3-SiO2 ternary glass, the glass forming region decreases with an increasing Li2O content. At the same Li2O, the crystallization tendency of the glass samples increases with the SiO2/B2O3 ratio, resulting in a reduced glass forming region in the Li2O-B2O3-SiO2 ternary glass. The electrical conductivity moderately depends on the SiO2/B2O3 ratio in the Li2O-B2O3-SiO2 ternary glass. The conductivity of the glasses slightly increases with the SiO2/B2O3 ratio. The observed phenomenon can be explained by the modification of the glass structure as a function of the SiO2 content.

평판 가까이에 놓인 타원형 실린더 주위 유동에 관한 연구 (Flow Around an Elliptic Cylinder Placed Near a Plane Boundary)

  • Flow characteristics and aerodynamic forces acting on an elliptic cylinder placed in a plane boundary layer were investigated experimentally. Four cylinder models with axis ratio(major axis to minor axis, AR=A/B) of 1, 2, 3, and 4 having the same equivalent diameter were used in this experiment. The Reynolds number based on the equivalent diameter $D_e$(=20mm) was 13,000. In the case of circular cylinder, regular vortex shedding occurs for the cylinder gaps larger than G/B=0.3 and is not almost related to the boundary layer thickness. But, for the elliptic cylinders, the vortex shedding frequency is increased with increasing the gap ratio (G/B) and the axis ratio (AR) of elliptic cylinders. The maximum drag coefficient acting on a circular cylinder is mainly affected by the boundary layer thickness. But, the elliptic cylinders(AR$\geq$2), except for the smaller gap G/B<0.2, show a nearly constant drag coefficient which is much smaller than that of a circular cylinder. The base pressure on the flat plate decreases with increasing the axis ratio(AR) of the elliptic cylinder. In the case of a circular cylinder, the base pressure has the minimum value at the gap ratio G/B=0.4, but it occurs at G/D=2 for elliptic cylinders. The mean velocity of the cylinder wake is quickly recovered at a small cylinder height ratio(H/$\delta$), but the turbulent intensity is rapidly recovered at a large cylinder height ratio(H/$\delta$). The effective wake region in the plane boundary layer is shrinkaged with increasing the axis ratio(AR) of elliptic cylinder. And the drag coefficient and streamwise turbulent intensity of the elliptic cylinder with AR=4 are less than half of those for the circular cylinder(AR=1).

소아 서혜부탈장 진단에 초음파검사 실시 후 임상 양상의 변화 (A Clinical Study of Pediatric Inguinal Hernia Before and After Using Ultrasonography for Diagnosis)

  • The purpose of this retrospective study was to evaluate the effects of diagnostic sonography in pediatric patients with inguinal hernias. The patients were classified into two groups. Group A included the patients who had been operated upon for inguinal hernia in 1980's, when diagnostic sonography was not available. Group B included the patients, operated upon for inguinal hernia from 2001 to 2002, when inguinal sonography was employed to detect potential bilateral hernias. The age distribution, sex ratio, laterality, bilaterality, and concomitant symptoms were compared between group A and group B. There were 296 cases in group A and 377 cases in group B. The prevalent age group was from 1 to 5 years. There was no difference in age group distribution between both groups. The male to female ratio was 5.3:1 in group A and 3.5:1 in group B. The ratio of unilateral to bilateral hernia was 5:1 in group A and 3:1 in group B. In cases with a unilateral hernia, the ratio of right to left was 1.5:1 in group A and 1.8:1 in group B. In cases with bilateral hernia, the simultaneous bilateral hernia was 33 cases (67.4 %) in group A and 75 cases (80.6 %) in group B. The sequential bilateral hernia was 16 cases (32.7 %) in group A and 18 cases (19.4 %) in group B. Although the ratio of bilateral hernia was increased in group B, the portion of the sequential bilateral hernia was significantly decreased in group B. In conclusion, there were no differences in the age distribution and the laterality between group A and B. The ratio of female patients and the incidence of bilateral hernia were increased in group B even though the portion of the sequential bilateral hernia was decreased. This result shows that the preoperative inguinal sonography in unilateral hernia with potential bilateral hernia is useful in early detection of the sequential contralateral hernia.

2원전자빔 증착법에 의한 티타늄붕화물($\textrn{TiB}_{x}$) 박막의 성장특성 (Growth characteristics of titanium boride($\textrn{TiB}_{x}$) thin films deposited by dual-electron-beam evaporation)

  • Ti와 B을 각각의 증발원으로 한 2원 전자빔 증착법으로 500$^{\circ}$의 기판온도에서 (100) Si 기판 위에 티타늄 붕화물 (${TiB}_{x}$) 박막을 증착시켰다. 이 방법은 여러 가지 boron-to-totanium ratio ($0{\le}B/Ti \le 2.5$)를 가지는 비당량 (${TiB}_{x}$ 박막의 표면 조도 역시 B/Ti비에 의존하여 변화되었다. 그리고 Pure Ti 박막은 (002)면의 우선 성장거동을 나타내었으나, $B/Ti{\ge}1.0$의 경우 (111)면의 우선 성장거동을 보이는 단일상의 TiB 박막이 성장되었다. 그러나 B농도가 더욱 증가됨에 따라 육방정계의 ${TiB}_{2}$상이 형성되기 시작하여 $B/Ti{\ge}2.0$ 의 조성비를 가지는 박막에서는 단일상의 ${TiB}_{2}$ 화합물을 나타내었다. 그리고 Si 기판상에 증착된 ${TiB}_{x}$ 박막의 잔류응력은 B/Ti비에 의존하나, 2원 전자빔 증착법으로 성장된 모든 박막에서 3~$20{\times}^9$dyn/$\textrm{cm}^2$ 정도의 인장응력을 나타내었다.
