When paprika is cultivated during summer season, thrips starts to occur in the early growing season and reaches its peak in late June. In the treatment using Orius laevigatus and Neoseiulus cucumeris, natural enemies to thrips, thrips density was 87.6/trap and 51.3/trap on June 23. After Orius laevigatus and Neoseiulus cucumeris were treated twice on June 24 and July 23, the number decreased considerably. On August 23, it was 36.9/trap and 40.3/trap and from the mid August to early September thrips density remained low. Effect of Orius laevigatus and Neoseiulus cucumeris on suppression of thrips density was 35.7% and 44.6% on July 22, however, the number went up to 88.8% and 80.5% on September 3.

From May 1977 to April 1990, 1000 cases of open heart surgery were performed under the cardiopulmonary bypass. There were divided into group A[500 cases, from May 1977 to June 23rd 1986] and group B[500 cases, from June 23rd 1986 to April 1990] which were analyzed, summarized, and compared. Of 1000 cases of open heart surgery, 677 cases[67.7%] were congenital heart diseases, and 323 cases[32.3%] were acquired heart diseases. In 677 cases of congenital heart disease, there were 545 cases with acyanotic congenital heart anomaly[A: 279, B: 266] and 132 cases with cyanotic congenital heart anomaly[A: 87, B: 45]. In 323 cases of acquired heart disease, most cases were valvular heart disease[315 cases, A: 133, B: 182] in which 357 valves were implanted. The operative mortality of congenital R acquired heart disease was 7.8% & 8.0%, and then overall mortality was 7.9%. The operative mortality was markedly decreased. [about half] from 10.0% of A group to 5.6% of B group.

NMHC (non-methane hydrocarbons) and fine particles such as P $M_{10}$ and P $M_{2.5}$ were measured at KIST (Korea Institute of Science and Technology) in Seoul for a month from the end of May. At the beginning of June, peak ozones exceeded 100ppb both near KIST and in Seoul while ozone and fine particles decreased from the middle of June due to frequent precipitation. Because the measurement site was close to trees on a hill, isoprene concentration went up to 4.1ppb with an average of 0.76ppb. Toluene was the highest all day long, but particularly high concentration in the afternoon implied a contribution of emission from solvent use as well as vehicle exhaust. Eighty-five percent of P $M_{10}$ was P $M_{2.5}$ on an average since major ions except sea salt, including nitrate, were present within P $M_{2.5}$. Daily variations of pollutants were generally similar except for NMHC. One of major differences in NMHC variation was maintenance of a relative high concentration in rainy day, showing that NMHC were not effectively scavenged by precipitation.ion.ion.

Annual reproductive cycle of Siganus canaliculatus was studied based on monthly variation of gonadosomatic index (GSI) and histological changes of gonads. Samples were monthly collected by a set net along the southern coast of Jeju Island, Korea from January to December, 1996. Variation of the monthly mean GSI values showed similar trends in female and male. The GSI values increased from June and reached a peak in the spawning season in July $(9.65{\pm}1.96\;in\;females,\;10.00{\pm}4.27\;in\;males)$, and decreased rapidly thereafter. Female hepatosomatic index (HSI) values ranged from $1.26{\pm}0.22\;(in\;April)\;to\;2.34{\pm}0.39$ (in July), and male HSI values ranged from $1.27{\pm}0.21\;(in\;April)\;to\;1.87{\pm}0.30$ (in October). Annual reproductive cycle was classified into the following successive stages: in female, growing stage (from February to June), mature stage (from June to July), ripe and spawning stage (from July to August), recovery stage (from August to March); and in male, growing stage (from January to June), mature stage (from June to July), ripe and spent stage (from July to August), and recovery stage (from August to April). Based on these data, this species has a group-synchronous oocyte development and one spawning season a year.

Main-belt comets (hereafter MBCs) are one of the hottest topics in the solar system astronomy. They are objects orbiting in the main asteroid belt which show cometary activity. Unlike most comets, which spend most of their orbit beyond 5AU from the Sun, MBCs follow near-circular orbits within the asteroid belt that are indistinguishable from the orbits of major population of the asteroids. P/2010 A2, the fifth MBC, was discovered by on January 6, 2010 by Lincoln Near-Earth Asteroid Research. It passed its perihelion at 2.01AU on December 3, 2009, about a month before it was discovered. With an aphelion of only 2.6 AU, P/2010 A2 spends all of its time inside of the frostline ~2.7 AU. We made observations of P/2010 A2 with Nishi-Harima Astronomical Observatory 2-m telescope only a week after the discovery. From the observed images, we found that the dust cloud was composed of large particles (>1mm) impulsively ejected between March and June, 2009. No coma was detected by our observations, suggesting that this object was no longer active. Consequently, we conjecture that these dust particles could be released by the impact collision among asteroids.

Helicobacter species have commonly been isolated from the gastric mucosa of humans and animals, however have not been known its association with clinical signs. This study was aimed to detect and identify Helicobacter species in the canine stomach by urease test and polymerase chain reaction(PCR). A total of 87 dogs in Kangwon and Kyunggi areas from August, 1998 to June, 1999 were examined. The detection rate of Helicobacter species by urease test for fundal biopsy samples was 83.9%, and positive rate was increased as incubation time was increased. Helicobacter species was detected in the seventy seven dogs(88.5%) of total 87 dogs by PCR. The fifty five strains of the 77 strains of Helicobacter species were identified as H heilmannii and the three strains were identified as H felis by PCR, but the nineteen strains were not identified.

In Korea, which has entered an aging society, 87% of the elderly population suffers from chronic diseases such as dementia and stroke, of which Alzheimer's dementia accounts for 71.3% of all dementia. In this paper, labeling verification was performed to review the error problem of deep learning results divided by Alzheimer's dementia MRI image into three stages.

We report 17 patients with human granulocytic anaplasmosis between January 2015 and September 2018 at two tertiary university hospitals in Korea. Monthly incidence peaked in May and June. Among these patients, we identified three who were co-infected with scrub typhus, and one patient with hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome.
