  • The 5G Core Network (5GC) is an essential part of the mobile communication network, but its security protection strategy based on the boundary construction is difficult to ensure the security inside the network. For example, the Network Function (NF) mutual authentication mechanism that relies on the transport layer security mechanism and OAuth2.0's Client Credentials cannot identify the hijacked NF. To address this problem, this paper proposes a trust model for 5GC based on NF interaction behavior to identify malicious NFs and improve the inherent security of 5GC. First, based on the interaction behavior and context awareness of NF, the trust between NFs is quantified through the frequency ratio of interaction behavior and the success rate of interaction behavior. Second, introduce trust transmit to make NF comprehensively refer to the trust evaluation results of other NFs. Last, classify the possible malicious behavior of NF and define the corresponding punishment mechanism. The experimental results show that the trust value of NFs converges to stable values, and the proposed trust model can effectively evaluate the trustworthiness of NFs and quickly and accurately identify different types of malicious NFs.

  • Recently mobile service industry has grown very rapidly. In this paper, We investigated the changes in mobile service network as well as security vulnerabilities of network in future 5G mobile service network, too. Recently, there are rapid developement of information and communication and rapid growth of mobile e-business users. Therefore We try to solve security problem on the internet environment which charges from wire internet to wireless internet or wire/wireless internet. Since the wireless mobile environment is limited, researches such as small size, end-to-end and privacy security are performed by many people. In addition, there is a need of internetworking between mobile and IoT services. Wireless Application Protocol has weakness of leaking out information from Gateway which connected wire and wireless communication. As such, We investigate the structure of mobile service network in order to gain security vulnerabilities and insights in this paper.

  • A 500 km/h linear motor high speed terrestrial transportation service is planned to launch 2027 in Japan. In order to support 5G service in the train, the Sub-carrier spacing frequency of 30 kHz is planned to be used instead of common 15 kHz sub-carrier spacing to mitigate Doppler effect in such high-speed transportation. In addition, to increase the cell size of 5G mobile system, plural Base Station antenna will transmit the identical Down Link (DL) signal to form the expanded cell size along the train rail. In this situation, forward and backward antenna signals will be Doppler shifted by reverse direction respectively and the receiver in the train might suffer to estimate accurate Channel Transfer Function (CTF) for its demodulation. In this paper, Delay and Doppler Profiler (DDP) based Channel Estimator is proposed and it is successfully implemented in signal processing simulation system. Then the simulated performances are compared with the conventional Time domain linear interpolated estimator. According to the simulation results, QPSK modulation can be used even under severe channel condition such as 500 km/h, 2 path reverse Doppler Shift condition, although QPSK modulation can be used less than 200 km/h with conventional Channel estimator.

  • Heterogeneous network technology is expected to be a core technology for 5G mobile communications. 5G mobile network would be composed of many base stations even have mobility, then the operator should connect base stations through the wireless backhaul technology. This paper presents Ultra Wide Area Wireless Backhaul Network System with massive array antenna. We conducted link budget analysis for Ultra Wide Area Wireless Backhaul Network and performance analysis of massive array antenna system through the transmission simulator based on beamforming technology. In wide area ($10km^2$) wireless backhaul system composed of massive antenna, we achieved 5 bps/Hz average spectral efficiency with 1 W transmission power per beam.

  • This study was aimed to derive implications in terms of competition to establish a reasonable spectrum policy for fifth-generation (5G) spectrum allocation through an in-depth analysis of C-band spectrum auctions. As a result of examining auctions in five countries, namely, Belgium, Sweden, Canada, Brazil, and Hong Kong, we identified various characteristics. First, the minimum bandwidth that is essential for service competition is guaranteed. Second, in Brazil, the network construction cost of mobile network operators is regarded as a part of the spectrum price. Third, a joint allocation of spectrum is permitted in Sweden, and spectrum sharing after allocation for 5G services is allowed in Canada. Finally, the reserved spectrum is provided for new service providers in Belgium and Canada. Our findings may provide insights for establishing policies of 5G spectrum allocation and competition in the telecommunications service market in Korea.

  • The fifth generation (5G) mobile communication technology is designed to meet all communication needs. Heterogeneous networks (HetNets) are a new emerging network structure. HetNets have greater potential for radio resource reuse and better service quality than homogeneous networks since they can evolve small cells into macrocells. Effective resource allocation techniques reduce inter-user interference while optimizing the utilization of limited spectrum resources in HetNets. This article discusses resource allocation in 5G HetNets. This paper explains HetNets and how they work. Typical cell types in HetNets are summarized. Also, HetNets models are explained in the third section. The fourth component addresses radio resource control and mobility management. Moreover, future study in this subject may benefit from this article's significant insights on how HetNets function.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient session management scheme for low-latency communications in 5G systems. The main idea of the proposed scheme is to prevent unnecessary reattempt signalling overhead when the session establishment for low-latency communications fails. Also, this method avoids network resource waste and battery drain of mobile devices. If a UE(User Equipment) fails to establish an Always-on PDU session for low-latency communications with the 5G systems because of network failure or resource unavailability, the proposed method prevents the UE's re-establishment of the Always-on PDU session by the specific information in the NAS(Non-Stratum) message from the 5G systems. Through simulation, we show that the proposed efficient session management scheme (ESMS) minimizes unnecessary signalling overhead and improves battery efficiency of mobile devices compared to existing legacy mechanism in 5G systems.

  • In this paper, we propose a new wireless transport network, which is named as Mobile Xhaul Network(MXN), that is enable to bring cost efficiency of fronthaul, midhaul and backhaul and to make easy installation of 5G Radio Access Network(RAN). For this purpose, we design XDU discovery and xhaul link setup mechanism with MXN architecture and operational procedure. Especially, in this paper, we propose various types of beam discovery mechanisms for mmWave based radio access on XDU and evaluate proposed schemes. The Simulation result shows that threshold based scheme and information based scheme have less than about 50% beam discovery latency compared to full search scheme.

  • To achieve the higher network capacity and mass connectivity in the forthcoming mobile network, revolutionary technologies have been considered. Recently, an upper bound on capacity of intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) transmissions towards the sixth generation (6G) mobile systems has been proposed. In this paper, we consider a tighter upper bound on capacity of IRS transmissions than the existing upper bound. First, using integration by parts, we derive an upper bound on capacity of IRS transmissions under Rician fading channels and a Rayleigh fading channel. Then, we show numerically that the proposed upper bound is closer to Monte Carlo simulations than the existing upper bound. Furthermore, we also demonstrate that the bounding error of the proposed upper bound is much smaller than that of the existing upper bound, and the superiority of the proposed upper bound over the existing upper bound becomes more significant as the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) increases.

  • As artificial intelligence has become commonplace in various fields, the transparency of AI in its development and implementation has become an important issue. In safety-critical areas, the eXplainable and/or understandable of artificial intelligence is being actively studied. On the other hand, machine learning have been applied to the intelligence of self-organizing network (SON), but transparency in this application has been neglected, despite the critical decision-makings in the operation of mobile communication systems. We describes concepts of eXplainable machine learning (ML), along with research trends, major issues, and research directions. After summarizing the ML research on SON, research directions are analyzed for explainable ML required in intelligent SON of beyond 5G and 6G communication.
