An Architecture of IoT Information Gateway in the IMS (IMS 기반의 IoT 정보 게이트웨이 구조)

  • With the rapid development of 5G technology, more and more network functions are interconnected and more popular. In order to effectively manage emerging network concepts, it allows any device object in the real world to be connected anywhere and at any time through the integration of device object recognition, interaction and raw data collection technologies. In addition, IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) is an architecture framework for transmitting IP-based information to the device object which can be represented as end user. Therefore, the Internet of Things and IP Multimedia Subsystem (IoT-IMS) communication platform can provide a convenient and fast way for user or device objects to deploy new application services effectively. In particular, in order to collect and manage the device information from IoT effectively in the IoT-IMS communication platform, an IoT Information Gateway (IIG) is proposed. Through the IoT Application Service (AS) scenario, the collected device information can be easily observed and managed in a unified way.

  • 사물인터넷은 다양한 응용 및 융합 서비스를 창출할 새로운 기회의 장으로 떠오르고 있다. 가트너 등의 시장 조사기관 및 전문가 들의 예측에 따르면 2020년까지 사물인터넷 디바이스는 300~500억 대로 증가할 것이며, 시장 규모는 3,000억 달러를 초과할 것으로 전망하였다. 이러한 거대한 규모의 시장 선점을 위한 기술 간, 업체 간 경쟁도 한층 증대되고 있다. 비 3GPP 계열 LPWA 네트워크는 유럽을 중심으로 이미 서비스가 시작되었으며, 3GPP에서는 LPWA 네트워크 실현을 위해 Narrowband Internet-of-Things(NB-IoT)를 새롭게 소개하였다. NB-IoT는 비 3GPP 계열 LPWA 기술과의 경쟁 속에서도 빠르게 시장에 진입할 것으로 기대된다. 본고에서는 표준화가 완료된 3GPP Release 13 NB-IoT 기술과 Release 14을 목표로 표준화가 진행 중인 NB-IoT enhancement에 대해 기술한다.

The Design and Experiment of AI Device Communication System Equipped with 5G (5G를 탑재한 AI 디바이스 통신 시스템의 설계 및 실험)

  • In this paper, IO+5G dedicated hardware is developed and an AI device communication system equipped with a 5G is designed and tested. The AI device communication system equipped with a 5G receives the collected real-time images and the information collected from the IoT sensor in real time is to analyze the information and generates the risk detection events in the AI processing board. The event generated in the AI processing board creates a 5G channel in the dedicated hardware equipped with IO+5G. The created 5G channel delivers event video to the control video server. The 5G based dongle network enables faster data collection and more precise data measurement compared to wireless LAN and 5G routers. As a result of the experiment in this paper, the average test result of the 5G dongle network is about 51% faster than the Wi-Fi average test result in downlink and about 40% faster in uplink. In addition, when comparing the test result with terms of the 5G rounter to be set to 80% upload and 20% download, the average test result is that the 5G dongle network is about 11.27% faster when downloading and about 17.93% faster when uploading. when comparing the test result with terms of the the router to be set to 60% upload and 40% download, the 5G dongle network is about 11.19% faster when downlinking and about 13.61% faster when uplinking. Therefore, in this paper it describes that the developed 5G dongle network can improve the results by collecting data and analyzing it faster than wireless LAN and 5G routers.

  • Mobile cellular technology is evolving to accommodate a variety of vertical services, expanding the application from human-to-human communication to the Internet of Things(IoT). In particular, the fourth industrial revolution, bringing in a new vision in future smart factory, necessitates a new paradigm shift in wireless communication. Low latency and high reliability is a key issue in wireless applications for industrial IoT such as factory automation. In this paper, we review the recent progress in 5G URLLC (Ultra-Reliable Low Latency Communication) and discuss use cases, requirements, challenging technical issues, and potential solutions to support wireless factory automation such as discrete automation and process automation.

  • 본고에서는 대표적인 5G 프로젝트인 METIS와 NGMN의 동향과 자율네트워크 동향을 살펴보고 5G에서 IoT 서비스를 지원하기 위한 방안으로 네트워크를 자율 제어 네트워크와 개미 군집 최적화를 적용한 네트워크를 고안하였다.

  • 5G와 사물인터넷(IoT) 시대에 데이터의 크로스컴퓨팅은 연구, 의료, 금융, 민생 분야 등에 더 많은 지원을 할 수 있고 프라이버시 안전성이 중요해지고 있다. SMPC (Secure Multi-party Computation)은 서로 믿지 않는 참여자 간의 프라이버시 보호 시너지 컴퓨팅 문제를 해결하고, 데이터 수요자에게 원본 데이터를 누설하지 않는 범위 하에서의 다자간 컴퓨팅 능력을 제공한다. IoT 장치는 전력 소모와 지연에 제한을 받기 때문에 대부분의 장치가 여전히 경량화 보안 메커니즘에 속하고 IoT에서 트래픽의 데이터 통합관리가 어렵기 때문에 통신 중 신원인식과 데이터를 주고받는 단계에서 프라이버시 유출의 문제가 발생할 수 있고 심지어 DDOS공격, RelayAttack공격 등 사이버의 목적이 될 수도 있다. 본 논문에서 IoT 네트워크 데이터 통신 특징을 분석하고 동형 암호에 기반의 SMPC 연산 아키텍처를 제안한다. 제안하는 이키텍처에서 동형 암호를 사용함으로써 장치 데이터의 안전을 보장하는 동시에 전체 네트워크 안전성도 확보한다. SMPC 및 동형암호 기술의 지속적 발전에 따라 제안하는 아키텍처가 계속 개선할 잠재력이 있다.

Curriculum of IoT by IPC Code Analysis of Patents (특허문헌의 IPC 코드 분석에 의한 사물인터넷 분야 교육과정에 관한 연구)

  • We analyzes representative technologies of IoT patents and reflects these results in the curriculum of IoT. In order to identify the representative technologies, the IPC codes of the patents were analyzed. Among the main category IPC codes, the most used IPC codes were H04L in Single IPC Patent with 974 cases(32.0%) and G06Q in Multiple IPC Patent with 710 cases(29.2%). As a result of classifying the IPC code into the WIPO technology classification system, the most emphasized technologies are Digital Communication, accounting for about 60.5% in the Single IPC Patent and IT Methods for Management(710 cases, 29.2%) in Multiple IPC Patent. The main points to be considered when organizing the curriculum of IoT are: ∇Emphasis on Digital Communication, ∇Expansion of Education related to IT Methods for Management(Including entrepreneurship and patent application), and ∇Consideration of subjects related to the Convergence of IoT. This research can contribute to the curriculum design of new industrial technologies such as AI and Fintech.

  • The 5th generation mobile communication (5G) is being commercialized by major domestic and foreign mobile telecommunication businesses and is spreading to general customers mainly on smart devices such as smartphones, wearables, and IoT. If 4G networks and 5G access equipment were utilized by introducing NSA(None-Stand Alone) technology when 5G was first introduced, recently, 5G convergence services are being realized by gradually expanding evolution to 5G standalone networks through SA (Stand Alone) technology. The purpose of this study is to study a design plan for implementing necessary service-oriented functions from the perspective of communication network users on the configuration of 5G SA equipment based on SBA(Service-based Architecture) mentioned in the 3GPP technical specification document. Through this research, it is expected that companies that need to enter the 5G market can easily access the 5G SA network to develop and supplement specialized 5G convergence services to improve product performance and quality.

An Efficient Markov Chain Based Channel Model for 6G Enabled Massive Internet of Things

  • Accelerated by the Internet of Things (IoT), the need for further technical innovations and developments within wireless communications beyond the fifth generation (B5G) networks is up-and-coming in the past few years. High altitude platform station (HAPS) communication is expected to achieve such high levels that, with high data transfer rates and low latency, millions of devices and applications can work seamlessly. The HAPS has emerged as an indispensable component of next-generations of wireless networks, which will therefore play an important role in promoting massive IoT interconnectivity with 6G. The performance of communication and key technology mainly depend on the characteristic of channel, thus we propose an efficient Markov chain based channel model, then analyze the HAPS communication system's uplink capability and swing effect through experiments. According to the simulation results, the efficacy of the proposed scheme is proven to meet the requirements of ubiquitous connectivity in future IoT enabled by 6G.

Designing a Healthcare Service Model for IoB Environments (IoB 환경을 위한 헬스케어 서비스 모델 설계)

  • Recently, the healthcare field is trying to develop a model that can improve service quality by reflecting the requirements of various industrial fields. In this paper, we propose an Internet of Behavior (IoB) environment model that can process users' healthcare information in real time in a 5G environment to improve healthcare services. The purpose of the proposed model is to analyze the user's healthcare information through deep learning and then check the health status in real time. In this case, the biometric information of the user is transmitted through communication equipment attached to the portable medical equipment, and user authentication is performed through information previously input to the attached IoB device. The difference from the existing IoT healthcare service is that it analyzes the user's habits and behavior patterns and converts them into digital data, and it can induce user-specific behaviors to improve the user's healthcare service based on the collected data.
