Can Brand Equity Explain Excess Behavioral Loyalty?

  • Despite the well-known predictive power of Dirichlet model on customer loyalty, deviations of share of category requirement (SCR) predicted by Dirichlet model from actual SCR have been repeatedly reported. It has been shown that these deviations can be systematically explained by some factors such as brand's market share, product positioning strategy, purchase volume and retail marketing mix strategies. Presuming that brand equity would be additional sources of these deviations, current study assesses the incremental predictive power of brand equity by using over 4,000 brand-level observations for the consumer packaged goods industry in the U.S. Our model estimations indicate that brands that exhibit higher brand equity enjoy excess loyalty, with the primary driver being volume premium, rather than price premium. Overall, our findings support the notion that idiosyncratic brand properties can explain excess behavioral loyalty, a notion that is in stark contrast with the Dirichlet view of the world: brand equity does not exist.

Apoptosis and Cell Proliferation in Gastric Adenoma and Adenocarcinoma (위샘종과 위샘암종에서의 세포자멸사와 세포증식)

  • Purpose: Cancer is a genetic disease caused by alterations in key regulators of cell growth and cell turnover, We investigated apoptotic cell death and cell proliferation in gastric adenomas and adenocarcinomas. Materials and Methods: The TdT-mediated dUTP-biotin nick end labelling (TUNEL) method and immunohistochemistry for Ki-67 were peformed, using paraffin-embedded tissues of 41 gastric adenomas and 100 gastric adenocarcinomas. These results were compared with histopathologic parameters. Results: The Ki-67 labelling index was higher in adenocarcinomas than in adenomas and the apoptotic index was higher in adenomas than in adenocarcinomas. There were no significant difference between the apoptotic index/Ki-67 labelling index and clinicopathological parameters. Conclusion: We propose that cell proliferation is more closely associated with gastric adenocarcinomas than apoptosis is, but that neither has any clinical significance as a prognostic factor in gastric adenocarcinomas. EFFECT OF AGRICULTURAL BY-PRODUCT DIETS ON CARCASS CHARACTERISTICS OF FOUR TYPES OF CATTLE IN THE FEEDLOT

  • Five type of formulated diet from agricultural by-products (ABP) were fed to four breedtype of cattle in feedlot. The ABP used are palm kernel cake (PKC), palm press fibre (PPF), palm oil mill effluent (POME), cocoa pod (COP), coffee pulp (COF) and pineapple waste (PAP). The formulated diets are PS (52% PKC, 15% PPF and 30% POME), PF (57% PKC, 20% PPF and 20% POME), PA (2% PKC and 55% PAP), CO (42% PKC and 55% COP) and CF (67% PKC and 30% COF) with 1% urea, 1% NaCl and 1% vitamins premix. The cattle breedtypes are Kedah-Kelantan (KK), Brahman-KK (BK), Hereford-KK (HK) and Sahiwal-Friesian (SF). The result showed that breedtype significantly affect all the carcass characteristic except dressing percentage. Each breedtype has it's specific carcass characteristics. HK cattle gave high marbling, BK has high % of carcass bone, KK has high % of carcass meat and low % of carcass fat (lean meat type) and SF has high % of carcass fat. Diet-type significantly affect the deposition of fat in the carcass. High moisture diets (PA and CO) produced significantly higher % carcass bone, the lowest % carcass fat and the highest % carcass meat (65.3%). PF, CF, PA and CO diets produced 63.4%, 59.9%, 55.3% and 54.1% carcass meat respectively.

A Study on the Manufacturing of Gig Conserves for Beef Tenderizing (연육용 무화과 잼 개발 연구 -쇠고기 연화용 무화과 콘서트 (Fig Conserves) 개발 연구-)

  • A method for the process of making fig conserves to prevent the denaturation of ficin (EC3.422.3) that is a proteolytic enzyme in fig (Fixus carica L. ) has been developed. The suutable composition ratio of materials such as, fig, sugar, citric acid and potassium sorbate, to make fig conserves was 1,000, 600 , 1.0 and 0.67g , respectively. to maintain the ficin activity, it was necessary that these materials were heated on 55$^{\circ}C$ and concentrated in the reduced pressure. At a result of sensory evaluation , meat treated with fig was the softest among samples. Then the treated beef with 55$^{\circ}C$ converse, 7$0^{\circ}C$ conserves, sugar and control have been shown the decreased rate respectively. There was significantly different in the effect of tenderness between each group(0.1%) . The nitrogen content of connective tissue was relatively low in the groups of the treated beef with fig and 55$^{\circ}C$ converses, 7$0^{\circ}C$ converses sugar and control , which was similar to the order of the ficin activity. This research revealed that the constituent protein of meat muscle was decomposed by ficin and its solubility was relatively higher than before.

A Study on Machinability of SM55C for Deep Hole Drilling (Deep Hole 가공시 SM55C의 절삭성에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this is to analyze experimentally how the change of cutting speed have effects on hole over size of cutting hole, surface roughness of workpiece and roundness during the deep hole machining of SM55C with solid BTA drill using BTA drilling system. Conclusion reached is as follows. (1) The diameter was expanded for 25$\mu$m at the first section and then was reduced 0$\mu$m and 15$\mu$m respectively at the 10m and 20m section comparing to the diameter of tool with respect to the variation of cutting length at 70m/min of cutting speed. 0.15mm/rev of feed. (2) It was proved that roughness was below 8.67$\mu$m for the whole section of cutting length. (3) The roundness has been below 12$\mu$m. Regarding the polygon phenomenon, it has been proved that not only uneven best at 70m/min of cutting speed. 0.15mm/rev of feed.

A Study on Dyes Using Natural Medicinal Ingredients that are Effective Against Skin Damage Disorders (피부손상질환에 대한 치료효과가 있는 천연약재의 염색 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is, as a prior stage to produce manufactured medical goods, to examine literature on the medicinal efficacy of natural dyes that can be used to produce medical goods, and to experiment the possibility of dyeing of some medicinal ingredients that have not been used as natural dyes until now. For this study, 44 types of medicinal ingredients such as Gyomaekchil(buckwheat), Nohoiyeob(aloe), Pogongyounng(dandelion), and Jibooja(broom cypress) were used. First, they were classified by a thermal sensation such as hot, warm, neutral, cool, and cold feeling, and by their characteristics of complex tastes such as sweet, sour, bitter, salty, pungent, astringent, and flat tastes. And then they were dyed with two types of mordant, resulting to a total of 132 types of dyed cloths. The 132 dyed cloths could be classified as five types of colors: 89 types(67.42%) of yellow series, 25 types(18.94%) of yellow-red series, 6 types(4.55%) of green-yellow series, 6 types(4.55%) of purple series, and 6 types(4.55%) of purple-blue series. The results of this study found that there were various medicinal ingredients that had efficacy to cure skin disorders and also could be used as natural dyes.

  • The safety and comfort of car seats wee studied by utilization of engineering analysis/ experiment and human engineering data. As important factors of the static seating comfort, static spring constant, body pressure distribution, driving posture were discussed. In connection with the dynamic seating comfort, vibrational characteristics of domestic car seats(natural frequencies, damping, frequency spectrum, transmission ratio)were measured and discussed. Finally, the safety of the seat was analyzed and evaluated through calculation and experiments.

  • 이 논문에서는 Asia-Pacific International Conference on Synthetic Aperture Radar(APSAR) 2011의 성공적인 한국 개최를 기념하여 SAR의 다채로운 활용 분야에 대한 동향을 간략하게 소개하고자 한다. SAR의 활용 분야에 따라 육상, 해양, 극지, 대기 분야로 나누었고, 각 분야별로 활용 기술과 주요 쟁점에 대하여 세분하여 개략적인 설명을 덧붙였다. SAR는 향후 새로운 기술과 시스템의 출현으로 그 활용 분야를 지속적으로 넓혀갈 것으로 예상된다. 이 논문을 통해 SAR의 다양한 활용 분야에 대한 이해를 돕고, 향후 국내 SAR 기술개발 및 활용에 있어서 도움이 되었으면 한다.

  • 본고는 7년여에 걸쳐 수행된 주전산기 II, III 프로젝트를 통하여 습득한, CAD 시스템을 이용한 하드웨어 설계 기법 및 주전산기 설계 환경에 대해 기술한다. 특히 주전산기 III와 같은 큰 규모의 컴퓨터 시스템 설계 분야에 국내 최초로 적용된 고급 언어와 로직 합성 기법을 이용한 FPGA 및 ASIC 설계 기법에 대해 상세히 기술한다. 아울러 새로운 주전산기 IV에 적합하도록 개선된 하드웨어 설계 환경을 주전산기 II, III 수행시의 환경과 비교, 설명한다. 이로써 하드웨어 구현 부품 및 관련 기술의 변화를 적극 수용하는 CAD 시스템의 진화 과정을 보인다.

The Spider Fauna of Namhai Island, Korea (남해도 거미상)

  • The spider fauna of Namhai Island was investigated from 21 to 25 Aug 1998. As a result,81 species of 43 genera under 15 families were collected. Identified spiders are composed of 30.8% Palaearctic, 28.4% Palaearctic and Oriental, 6.1% Holarctic, 2.4% Oriental, and 3.7% Cosmopolitan species. Araneid, salticid and theridiid spiders appeared to be dominant among the spiders. Common species with Japan and China were 56(69.1%) AND 55 (67.1%) species, respectively.
