A Study on the Acceptance of the 52-Hour Workweek System in Game Industry

  • Recently, there has been a lot of interest in the game industry, which has become more spotlighted due to the beginning of the metaverse, and the industry is gradually expanding and developing. However, workforces leading the game industry are increasingly complaining of fatigue due to the COVID-19 situation. Also, as the situation crosses online and offline at the same time, a 52-hour workweek is becoming increasingly important. Therefore, this study sought to conduct research on the acceptance of a 52-hour workweek system according to the characteristics of the game industry. This study proposed various research questions and presented academic and practical implications by verifying them.

The effects of a 52-hour workweek policy on meat consumption patterns in Korea

  • The 52-hour workweek policy in Korea is a system that limits the maximum working hours per week to 52 hours including holiday work, which has been treated separately from overtime work during a week. Although this policy is designed to improve the quality of life and create jobs, it may also reduce the income of some workers. In general, it can be assumed that reduced working hours increase consumption at home. This study analyzed the effect of the 52-hour work policy on meat consumption patterns with the ordered logit model. Major factors considered in this study include working hours, income, and consumption frequency. It distinguished domestic and workplace consumption. The results show that the policy has had an impact on meat consumption patterns both at home and at work. If there is no change in income and only the working hours decrease, meat consumption in households increases. On the other hand, if both income and working hours decrease, household meat consumption decreases. Moreover, reduced working hours decrease the frequency of office happy hour and meat consumption in the workplace. However, the 52-hour workweek policy applies only to workers working more than 52 hours per week; thus, it is difficult to determine the overall effect of the policy on national meat consumption patterns.

  • The policy proposal by the current Korean government that proposes flexible overtime rules is causing social controversy. This study has explored the 612 experts' opinions on the occupational safety and health impacts of the policy using an online self-report survey. They expected short-term overwork (87.25%), overwork inequality (86.44%), irregular working hours (84.31%), chronic overwork (84.15%), long working hours (83.66%), and unpredictability of working hours (81.86%) as a result of the policy change. They also responded that the policy change would increase industrial accident deaths (87.25%), mental illnesses (87.09%), deaths due to overwork or cardiovascular diseases (83.84%), and accidents (83.33%). They disagreed that the government's flexibilization policy, while agreeing that the necessity of policies on regulating night work (94.77%), guaranteeing wages to eliminate overtime (90.36%), establishing working time regulations for the bogus self-employed (82.84%), and applying the 52-hour workweek system to all workplaces (76.47%). These expert opinions are consistent with previous research on the health effects of working hours.

  • As the construction site has become narrower recently, the importance of mass concrete is naturally being highlighted as skyscrapers become popular. However, it is not possible to install the entire volume per day if the mass concrete is installed due to the Remicon 8⦁5 system and the 52-hour workweek system. When the mass concrete base is divided into several days, cold joints occur because the consolidation of joints is not integrated due to different degree of hardening in the case of the previous layer and the next day. As a result, existing research has shown that if super retarding agent are mixed into Ready Mixed Concrete (hereinafter referred to as Remicon) using sugar as a raw material to delay the curing time of concrete, cold joints are inhibited and cracks are inhibited by reducing the initial hydration heat.

공업화주택 인정제도 개선 방향 설정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement Directions for the Industrial Housing Accreditation System in Korea)

  • 최근 우리나라 건설업계는 건설기술 인력 부족, 건설노동인력 고령화, 주 52시간 근무 등 다양한 건설환경 대응 방안으로 공업화공법 활성화에 대한 요구가 증가하고 있다. 공업화주택 인정제도는 공업화주택의 품질인정과 품질 향상 유도를 위하여 1992년에 도입되었으나 현재 6개 업체만 인정을 받았고, 인정 받은 공업화주택이 건설된 실적도 전무한 상황이다. 현재 우리나라 공업화주택 인정제도는 크게 인정 및 인정 취소기준, 공업화주택 건설촉진 기준으로 구성되어 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 공업화주택인정제도의 관련 규정을 심층분석하여, 각 규정에 따른 문제점을 도출하고, 이를 기반으로 공업화주택 인정제도 활성화를 위한 제도 개선방향을 도출하였다. 구체적인 공업화인정제도 방안으로는 현행 공업화 주택 인정 범위를 준주택까지 확대하는 방안, 공업화 주택의 성능 및 생산기준 개정, 공업화주택 활성화 지원을 위한 건축기준 완화 및 금융지원 등을 제안하였다. 향후 공업화주택 인정제도와 별도로 국내 공업화 건축시장이 활성화되지 못하는 주요 원인 중 하나인 경제성 문제를 해결하기 위해 공업화공법의 사회·경제·환경·기술적 파급효과에 대한 체계적 분석과 가시화를 통해 건설시장 패러다임을 전환을 적극적으로 유도할 필요가 있다.

업무 자동화를 위한 RPA 융합 기술 고찰 (A Study of Convergence Technology in Robotic Process Automation for Task Automation)

  • 최근 4차 산업혁명 시대 흐름에 발맞추어 인공지능을 이용한 자동화 기술을 다양한 산업현장에 적용하는 사례가 증가하고 있다. 특히, 정부의 주 52시간 근무제 도입으로 기업들은 인력 운영의 어려움이 가중되고 있어, 효율적인 인력 운영을 위해 사무환경 자동화를 위한 RPA(Robotic Process Automation)에 관심을 두고 은행, 보험, 카드사 등에서 Back-Office 업무 위주로 도입하고 있다. 이러한 RPA 솔루션은 인공지능 기반 인식기술, Script 작성 기술, 업무 소프트웨어와 API(Application Process Interface) 연계 기술 등이 요구되며, Automate One, Automation Anywhere, UiPath, Blue Prism 등과 같은 다양한 솔루션들이 제공되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 기에 수작업으로 수행하던 업무를 대신할 수 있는 RPA 솔루션의 요소 기술, 시장 동향, RPA 도입 효율성에 대해 분석하고 이를 서술하였다.

  • The need for off-site construction has increased in the construction industry in Korea in recent years due to the enforcement of the 52-hour workweek, the increasing age of workers on construction sites, the deepening dependence on overseas workers, and the stagnation of productivity in the construction industry. Thus, studies on OSC started in April 2020. In addition, as a national policy study advocating the modular construction method, which is one of the OSC methods, was completed in the first half of 2019. 70 housing units in two complexes that satisfied the Housing Act requirements have been supplied to citizens. However, although modular construction methods have been recognized as a dramatic construction method that achieves shortened construction schedules and solves the issues of cost reduction and the shortage of technical workers on sites by combining the advantages of the manufacturing industry and applying the economies of scale, realistically it has issues due to the rising cost of steel and a low pre-fabrication ratio. Moreover, the construction time of core parts, such as those built by pouring concrete, has become a factor that hinders the shortening of construction times. Thus, this study aims to propose a precast concrete(PC) modular construction system, which fuses three-dimensional infill as an interior finish material and a three-surface PC module that can acts as a structure for a construction method that is economical and can shorten construction time.

  • Domestic SMEs play a key role in production and employment, accounting for 98.9% of total enterprises, 74.4% of employment, 50.8% of production, and 49.0% of value added (as of 2016). However, they are faced with difficulties of survival because of continuous decrease in profitability, shortage of funds and manpower, insufficient accumulation of technology, minimum wage increase, and 52-hour workweek. In order for SMEs to continue to develop in such a difficult environment, we must constantly innovate our organization by making full use of our knowledge, information, experience and ability. To do this, CEO (management) leadership is very important to ensure that the best people are focused on the organizational innovation and management performance without moving the company. In this study, we wanted to establish empirically how the newly emerging compassionate rationalism leadership of SMEs business managers affected the innovation activities and management performance of companies. Research has shown that management's compassionate rationalism leadership has a positive and significant causal relationship with the innovation activities and management performance of the enterprise. Therefore, SMEs managers need to learn the bottom eight strategic factors of compassionate rationalism leadership and use them strategically to make efforts to create positive emotions for the organization so that members can be immersed in innovative activities and management performance creation.

국가기반시설 물리적 방호체계 운영개념 및 설계방법 개선방안 연구: 원자력발전소를 중심으로 (A Study on the Concept of Operations and Improvement of the Design Methodology for the Physical Protection System of the National Infrastructure - Focused on Nuclear Power Plants -)

  • 한국의 국가기반시설은 시설규모가 증가하고 밀집되어 강화된 북한의 국지도발, 테러공격을 위한 풍부하고 매력적인 잠재적 표적으로 식별될 것이다. 또한 드론위협, 주 52시간 근무제도에 따른 경비병력 부족 등의 보안환경 변화에 따라 현 물리적 방호체계에 대한 유효성과 적절성을 재평가하고 전환을 고려할 시점으로 사료된다. 본 연구에서는 국가기반시설 중 원자력발전소의 외곽 물리적 방호체계에 집중하여 국가 기반시설 외곽 물리적 방호체계의 전환 방향과 개선방안을 운영개념 및 설계 방법론 측면에서 연구하였다. 원자력발전소에 집중하는 이유는 원자력발전소는 피해 시 전기발전 중단의 단기적인 피해와 함께, 방사능 물질 유출과 오염에 따르는 광범위하고 장기적인 피해가 발생하므로 가장 높은 보안수준을 필요로 하기 때문이다. 개선방향 도출 목표로 국내 연구동향과 국내·해외 관련법을 종합 검토하고 한국의 특수성을 고려하여, 과학화, 기동화, 유연성으로 운영개념을 재설정하고 체계전환의 기준을 수립하였다. 새로운 외곽 물리적 방호체계의 기술적 성능개선을 위하여 개별설계에서 탈피, 고신뢰성·다방법론 기반의 통합설계 방법론 적용방안을 연구하고 구매제도 개선 및 해외 수출, 타(他)국가기반시설로의 확대적용을 제언한다.
