  • This paper introduce UHF miniaturized RFID tag antenna which is embedded on the seal-bolt or plastic bolt for automobile plate. To detect the illegal and un-registered car, the illegal automobile detection system has been developed using the seal-bolt UHF RIF tag antenna. The diameter of seal-bolt UHF tag is about 24mm, almost the same size as 100 Won coin. The simulated and measured reflection coefficient are compared, and the reading range patten is also measured. If seal-bolt tag is embedded on car plate, police can get information of automobile and detect illegal vehicles easily with the illegal automobile detection system.

  • This paper proposes a fingerprint verification system on a fuzzy vault with steganography for a smartphone. While biometric-based authentication can provide strong security, the biometric data must be handled carefully as it cannot be re-enrolled when it is revealed to other people. When the transformed data is used for authentication, the original biometric data can be protected. In this paper, we combine a fingerprint verification system with a fuzzy vault scheme to protect the fingerprint data of a smartphone user. In addition, the transformed data using a fuzzy vault scheme increases the security as it is concealed by the steganography scheme. The result of the experiment using fingerprint databases shows that the proposed scheme provides a high level of convenience and security for authentication of a smartphone having with a fingerprint sensor.

  • In this paper, an operation algorithm and a performance simulator are developed for a 42-volt ISG vehiclewhich consists of 5 kW ISG, 2500cc IC engine, torque converter and 4 speed automatic transmission. Modularapproach using MATLAB Simulink is used to construct a dynamic model of the vehicle powertrain which is obtainedfrom each component such as engine, battery, ISG, torque converter, etc.. An operation strategy for a 42-volt ISG vehicle including the function such as engine idle stop and regenerative braking is proposed. Performance simulator is developed based on the dynamic models of the powertrain. It is found from the simulation results that fuel economy can be improved as much as 6 percent for FTP75 driving cycle mostly owing to the engine idle stop.

  • The Ssteel-Cconcrete (SC) Ccomposite Ccolumn is a new Ccomposite Ccolunin system, where hoops are welded between flanges of H-shapesd steel and concrete is filled in spaces between flanges are filled with con crete. Tests of SC composite columns were performed previously to determine their compression, bending and shear strength, and it showed good structural behavior. But sSince a column is usually subjected to an axial compression force, and bending it ihas needed to be bent forevaluate its structural behavior to be evaluated when its axial load and bending isaresimultaneously applied to the SC composite column. In this paper, tests were conducted to investigate the bending strength of SC composite columns subjected to axial compression force and bending moment. The parameters of the tests were concrete, a stud bolt, a hoop and a magnitude of axial compression. The test results showed that the maximum bending strength and ductility of an SC composite column were increased by 33-42% and 33-63%, respectively, comparinged to those of a bare steel column. Also, the results obtained bywith the Korean Limit State Design Code (LSD) presents a considerably safe side value compared to those of the Eurocode-4 and the Japan Code. However, wWhen the axial compression force is was increased, however, there awere considerable differences between the maximum strength obtained by the test and the LSD analysis. For this reason, it is recommended tothe use of the Eurocode-4 is recommended when calculates the strength of an SC composite column is being calculated, since the Eurocode-4 gives us a better estimation.
