  • Recently, the fourth industrial revolution has a great influence on the development of many industries as well as the construction industry. Various technologies related to the industrial revolution 4.0, such as AI and big data, have gained much attention. However, little has been known about the importance and preparedness of stakeholders of the construction industry in Korea for the industry 4.0 technologies so far. This study revealed how the stakeholders perceive and prepare for industry 4.0 using a survey. In addition, collaboration potential score for each technology was calculated to find technologies with high potential for collaboration. Result is that the importance of the technologies was evaluated high in overall, but the preparedness and implementation in university education or business was evaluated low. Technologies with high potential for industry-university collaboration are AI/big data and 3D printing/3D scanning. This study can contribute to the training of industry 4.0 experts and improving preparedness, which would enable the innovation and application of industry 4.0 technologies in the construction industry.

  • This study investigated the consumer acceptance process of the fourth industrial revolution new product to be introduced into the market in the future. The 4th Industrial Revolution new products are technological advances compared to the existing ones. The technology acceptance model that was used in the past has been modified to reflect variables like the social effects of the 4th Industrial Revolution, expected experience, and perceived risk. Modified models were proposed and verified. Six representative new products of the 4th Industrial Revolution were selected and examined by 40 respondents, and the hypotheses were verified using programs such as SPSS and AMOS. And conclusions and implications are as follows. First, the innovativeness of the fourth industrial revolution new products influences positive evaluation factors such as expected experience and perceived usefulness and it also affect positively to the perceived risk. In addition, the expected experience of the fourth industrial revolution new products has a great effect on the perceived usefulness and social influence, but it didn't affect to the perceived risk. Like the results of the TAM model, purchase intention of the fourth industrial revolution new products are strongly influenced by perceived usefulness. Finally, the perceived risk of the new product of the 4th Industrial Revolution had no statistically significant effect on the purchase intention, and the social influence of the 4th Industrial Revolution had a significant effect on the purchase intention. In general, respondents are highly aware of the social impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and seem to be very positive in this respect.

  • This study was conducted to identify the determing factors of the success and constraints based on the perception of public officials preparing for the Fourth Industrial Revolution(4IR) and the collaboration among ministries. The analytic method performed an average value analysis based on the survey of public officials' awareness, and the results of the study are as follows. First, officials from nine ministries who are responsible for the 4IR recognized that they were regarded that the 4IR as a new opportunity, but if it failed to respond properly, there might be a crisis. Second, it recognizes the era of 4IR as the number one priority in big data, second in artificial intelligence and machine learning, and third in cloud computing technology. Third, they recognized that 'flexibility of the institutions' and 'recruitment of experts' were needed to prepare for the 4IR effectively.

  • Recently, a growing number of accidents have taken place at construction sites, causing serious casualties. To prevent accidents or minimize damage, it is necessary to develop the safety precautions education is essential. However, the effects of safety education do not have as much effect as the importance of safety education. so As a new direction, we are looking forward to effective education by simulating realistic environments using VR. The safety training method used to experience and learn dynamic situations in a limited room wearing HMD is combined with VR. It will be the start of the construction industry going forward.

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the effects of innovative technology characteristics of beauty care remote-manufacturing system on resistance and acceptance intentions to innovative technology in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. A survey of 567 female consumers in their 20s and older was conducted. The collected survey data were analyzed for hypotheses verification through structural equation model analysis. First, the perceived usefulness and perceived ease to use of beauty care remote-manufacturing systems have negative effects on resistance to innovative technology. Second, resistance to beauty care remote-manufacturing systems has been shown to negatively affect acceptance intention. Third, perceived risk to beauty care remote-manufacturing systems have been shown to negatively affect acceptance intention. Through this study, it can be found that the significance of this study in that it derived factors that affect consumer' resistance and acceptance of innovative technologies and presented new trends and directions of the cosmetics manufacturing industry.
