The aim of this study was to derive a new trend by analyzing installations using 3D printing that are out of the limits of size and design according to the trends of developing 3D printing technology. This paper classified the types of installations using 3D printing and analyzed them with two trends: the trend of design and the trend of output. The trends of installations using 3D printing derived from this study are as follows. First, as the implementation of design through an algorithm is accomplished, the transformation appears with the atypical design that is prominent in complex expression. Second, Robotics and FDM 3D Printing is fused, which is changing the existing paradigm. Therefore, the production and utilization of installations using 3D printing proceeded at a faster pace through the interaction between the algorithm design method and freeform 3D printing technology. This study was conducted on installations using 3D printing around the world and played a basic role in the research on the production of installations using 3D printing along with domestic 3D printing technology to be developed in the future. Follow-up studies in various aspects, such as materials and combination methods, will be needed.
This research was conducted to reduce the defect rate caused by nozzle clogging of printing heads used in binder jet 3D printers. The binder jet 3D printing technology may adhere to the printing head nozzle by dispersing powder due to mechanical operation such as transferring the printing head and supplying powder, and may cause nozzle clogging by natural curing at the nozzle end depending on the type of binder used. To solve this problem, this study created a cleaning module exclusively for printing heads to check whether the durability of printing heads is improved through analysis of printing results before and after using the cleaning module. To this end, this research used a thermal bubble jet printing head, and the used powder was studied using gypsum powder.
3D concrete printing technology builds structural components layer-by-layer with concrete extruded through a nozzle without using forms. This technology can simplify construction processes by optimizing design flexibility, construction time, and cost. Furthermore, the 3D printing technology is easy to make an irregularly shaped and function embedded building(or object) which is difficult to be constructed by conventional construction method. However, the 3D printing concrete is not suitable for current commercial standard and the material itself. It is also difficult to apply it to the construction site due to the lack of initial strength and the nozzle which is clogged during the process. The research of mix proportion design process for 3D printing concrete which differs from the conventional concrete is necessary in order to solve the problems. This paper aims to calculate the 3D printing concrete mix proportion design process based on the mix materials and performance information derived from the previous researches. Therefore, the usage variation range, mutual influence relationship, and the importance priority of the mix proportion are analyzed. Based on this results, the basic design process of 3D printing concrete which contains planning design phase, basic design phase and validating performance phase is suggested. We anticipate to confirm applicability verification about the actual production by referring to this 3D printing concrete mix proportion study. In the future, this study can be utilized for blueprint of the 3D printing concrete mix proportion.
Using FDM 3D printing, yarn shape and composition were modeled and 3D printed with PLA and TPU filaments currently used for apparel. Based on this, mechanical characteristics were measured to determine 3D printing yarn according to type of filaments in the 3D printed output and deformation and recovery characteristics due to differences in structure type. As a result of examining tensile and shear characteristics of PLA and TPU 3D printing compiles, TPU overall was measured with significantly lower stress than PLA. This is due to high elasticity of TPU's character, revealing that it has better flexibility than PLA. In addition, during deformation due to external forces, the more freedom between the head and foot parts of the loop, and the lower the force associated with each other, the more flexible it is. TPU revealed that it was easier to tension and recovery from tensile deformation than PLA, indicating potential for clothing materials using 3D printing. If high-molecular materials, such as PLA flexibility, it is likely to provide some flexibility through development of styles, including degree of freedom in modeling. Based on this, we provide basic data for developing 3D printing textures that can be satisfied with textile for apparel.

This study aims to apply Arduino and 3D printing technology considered as a key subject in the age of 4th industrial revolution which is a step 1 for customizing and applying the process of production by chemical molding companies producing environment-friendly biodegradable packaging materials to the 3D printing teaching in universities. Step 3 is applied to IoT for Arduino application, and 3D printing technology is also used on the basis of teaching creative integrated human resource. Integration of Arduino with 3D printers is based on the assumption that middle- and high-school students can learn it step by step to higher levels and university students majoring or not majoring in computing science can also have computing skills for solving 3D printing-based problems. For IoT application in this study, the 3D printing technology is applied to the external shape of products for producing an Arduino-based lighting fixture. The applied 3D printing technology is further extended to teaching modeling of producing packaging materials by chemical product molding companies in the age of 4th industrial revolution.

In this paper, the effects of different 3D printing conditions including oil lubrication and annealing are observed for their effects on tensile testing. In 3D printing, a press-out extrude filament is rapidly heated and cooled to create internal stress in the printed part. The 3D printing internal stress can be removed using oil-coated filament and annealing. During the oven cooling at an annealing temperature of $106^{\circ}C$, the stress of the specimens with laminated angle $0^{\circ}$ tends to increase by 12.6%, and that of the oil-coated filament printing specimens is increased by 17%. At the annealing temperature of $106^{\circ}C$, the stress of the oil-coated filament printing specimens tends to increase by 35%. In this study, we have found that the oil lubrication and annealing remove the internal stresses and increase the strength of the printed specimens. The oil lubrication and annealing reform the crystalline structures to even out the areas of high and low stress, which creates fewer fragile areas. These results are very useful for the manufacture of 3D printing products with a suitable mechanical strength for applications.
We attempted to provide an overview of the laws and current state of the 3D printing industry in South Korea and around the world, using the annual industry surveys and the Wohler report. Additionally, we reviewed articles relating to the potential exposure to hazards associated with 3D printing using metal materials. In South Korea, there were 406 3D printing-related businesses, employing 2,365 workers, and the market size was estimated at 455.9 billion won in 2021. Globally, the average growth rate of the 3D printing industry market over the past 10 years was 27.4%, and the market size was estimated at $11.8 billion in 2019. The United States had the highest cumulative installation ratio of industrial 3D printers, followed by China, Japan, Germany, and South Korea. A total of 6,168 patents related to 3D printing were registered in the US between 2010 and 2019. Harmful factors during metal 3D printing was mainly evaluated in the powder bed fusion and direct energy deposition printing types, and there is a case of material extrusion type with metal additive filaments. The number, mass, size distribution, and chemical composition of particles were mainly evaluated. Particle concentration increases during the opening of the chamber or post-processing. However, operating the 3D printer in a ventilated chamber can reduce particle concentration to the background level. In order to have a safe and healthy environment for 3D printing, it is necessary to accumulate and apply knowledge through various studies.
Since the early 2000s, various fashion design products that use 3D printing technology have constantly been introduced to the fashion industry. However, given the nature of 3D printing technology, the flexible characteristics of material of textile fabrics is yet to be achieved. The aim of this study is to develop the optimal design conditions for production of flexible and elastic 3D printing fabric structure based on plain weave, which is the basic structure in fabric weaving using SLS 3D printing technology. As a the result this study aims to utilize appropriate design conditions as basic data for future study of flexible fashion product design such as textile material. Weaving structural design using 3D printing is based on the basic plain weave, and the warp & weft thickness of 4mm, 3mm, 2mm, 1.5mm, 1mm, and 0.7mm as expressed in Rhino 6.0 CAD software program for making a 3D model of size $1800mm{\times}180mm$ each. The completed 3D digital design work was then applied to the EOS SLS Machine through Maker ware, a program for 3D printer output, using polyamide 12 material which has a rigid durability strength, and the final results obtained through bending flexibility tests. In conclusion, when designing the fabric structure design in 3D printing using SLS method through application of polyamide 12 material, the thickness of 1 mm presented the optimal condition in order to design a durable digital textile structure with flexibility and elasticity of the 3D printing result.
With the development and proliferation of three-dimensional(3D) printers, consumers in modern society can now print products of what they want three-dimensionally at home. However, consumers themselves would have to produce digital design maps that are compatible with 3D printers and to set up the optimum printing quality and temperature, as well as to pay for maintenance and repair of 3D printers and to respond to any possible lawsuits related to intellectual property right about designs in order to make possible consumer-tailored manufacturing through 3D printing. However, in reality, since it is very difficult for consumers to respond to these issues, it is necessary to develop services that perform 3D printing on behalf of consumers in the desired direction. Motivated by this objective, this study investigated user experiences on Shapeways(www.shapeways.com), which is a global online 3D printing product and sales companies, from many viewpoints in order to obtain insight into 3D printing services and modes which were preferred by consumers. The study result showed that quantitative evaluations on usability, search process, price adequacy, re-visit intention, diversity of design, and satisfaction of design was scored low overall. Furthermore, this study acquired insight about consumer-tailored 3D printing services through constructive suggestions on multi-language support, openness of manufacturing process, simultaneous operation of online and offline sites, design-oriented consumer-tailored manufacturing service, services that ensure delivery safety and product durability, and surface finishing services. This study is expected to provide a wide range of opinions not only on 3D printing service platform development but also on related industry and research.
