We examine the intertemporal relation between risk and return in the Korean stock market and foreign exchange market based on the two factor ICAPM framework. The standard GARCH model and the GJR(1993) model are employed to estimate conditional variances of the stock returns and foreign exchange rates. The covariance between the rates of stock returns and changes in the exchange rates are estimated by the constant conditional correlation model of Bollerslev(1990) and the dynamic conditional correlation model of Engle(2002). The multivariate GARCH in mean model and quasi-maximum likelihood estimation method, consequently, are applied to investigate riskreturn relation jointly. We find that the estimated coefficient of relative risk aversion is negative and statistically significant in the post-financial crisis sample period in the Korean stock market. We also show that the expected stock returns are negatively related to the dynamic covariance with foreign exchange rates. Both estimated parameters of conditional variance and covariance in the foreign exchange market, however, are not statistically significant. The GJR model is better than the standard GARCH model to estimate the conditional variances. In addition, the dynamic conditional correlation model has higher explanatory power than the constant correlation model. The empirical results of this study suggest following two points to investors and risk managers in hedging and diversifying strategies for their portfolios in the Korean stock market: first, the variability of foreign exchange rates should be considered, and second, time-varying correlation between stock returns and changes in foreign exchange rates supposed to be considered.

Recent advances in cognitive radio technology have drawn immense attention to higher layer protocols above medium access control, such as transmission control protocol (TCP). Most proposals to improve the TCP performance in cognitive radio (CR) networks have assumed that either all nodes are in CR networks or the TCP sender side is in CR links. In those proposals, lower layer information such as the CR link status could be easily exploited to adjust the congestion window and improve throughput. In this paper, we consider a TCP network in which the TCP sender is located remotely over the Internet while the TCP receiver is connected by a CR link. This topology is more realistic than the earlier proposals, but the lower layer information cannot be exploited. Under this assumption, we propose an enhanced TCP protocol for CR networks called TCP for cognitive radio (TCP-CR) to improve the existing TCP by (1) detection of primary user (PU) interference by a remote sender without support from lower layers, (2) delayed congestion control (DCC) based on PU detection when the retransmission timeout (RTO) expires, and (3) exploitation of two separate scales of the congestion window adapted for PU activity. Performance evaluation demonstrated that the proposed TCP-CR achieves up to 255% improvement of the end-to-end throughput. Furthermore, we verified that the proposed TCP does not deteriorate the fairness of existing TCP flows and does not cause congestions.
Self-assembling nanospheres of hydrophobized pullulan have been developed. Pullulan acetate (PA), as hydrophobized pullulan, was synthesized by acetylation. Carboxymethylated poly(ethylene-glycol) (CMPEG) was introduced into pullulan acetate (PA) through a coupling reaction using N, N'-dicyclohexyl carbodiimide (DCC). A synthesized PA-PEG-PA (abbreviated as PEP) conjugate was confirmed by Fourier transform-infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. Since PEP conjugates have amphiphilic characteristics in aqueous solution, polymeric nanoparticles of PEP conjugates were prepared using a simple dialysis method in water. From the analysis of fluorescence excitation spectra primarily, the critical association concentration (CAC) of this conjugate was found to be 0.0063 g/L. Observations by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) showed the spherical morphologies of the PEP nanoparticles. The particle size distribution of the PEP conjugates was determined using photon correlation spectroscopy (PCS) and the intensity-average particle size was 193.3 ${\pm}$ 13.53 nm with a unimodal distribution. Clonazepam (CNZ), as a model drug, was easy to entrap into polymeric nanoparticles of the PEP conjugates. The drug release behavior was mainly diffusion controlled from the core portion.
The Present study has been carried out to elucidate the antiestrogenic effects of tamoxifen in uteri of immature rats. Immature female Sprague-Dawley rats were allocated into 4, groups and injected with $5{\mu}g$ of estradiol-$17{\beta}$, $50{\mu}g$ of tamoxifen, a combination of both or vehicle only subcutaneously three times after an interval of 24 hours respectively. The concentrations, of cytosol estradiol receptor in uterus were measured by DCC method before and 1, 3, 6, 12, 24, 48 and 72 hours after the above treatments and those of nuclear estradiol were measured by protamine exchange method 72 hours and those of nuclear estradiol were measured by protamine exchange method 72 hours after the above treatments. The results obtained were summarized as follows: 1. The binding affinity of tamoxifen to estradiol receptor in uterine cytosol was lower than that of estradiol-$17{\beta}$, accordingly the translocation of estradiol receptor into the nucleus was found to be delayed. 2. Tamoxifen caused the retention of estradiol receptor in nucleus over 24 hours and inhibited the replenishment of the receptor from nucleus to cytosol in uterus.
With the development and invention of computer and internet, GIS (Geographic Information System) has provided diverse services to users. Web 2.0, the next generation web, has been developed to create a new business by accumulating and structuring information from many users. The characteristics of Web 2.0 are blog, longtail distribution, SNS, DCC, collective intelligence, and so on. This study proposes a GIS 2.0 service model to maximize the introduction effect and use of GIS by the method that two-way communication and the participation of consumer, characteristics of Web 2.0, are used to build more practical GIS rather than providing spatial information in one-way and simple inquiry oriented way.

When one link failure happens in BSHR/2 networks, it is possible to restore all traffics by following the ITU-T G.841 rules. However, when a node that is currently executing a ring switch receives a long-path ring bridge request for an higher priority, it shall drop its bridge and switch immediately, then enter full pass-through. Even through link connection between two nodes exists, it is impossible to restore the service. In this paper, when multi-link failures happen, the services through connected link can be restored by exchanging messages through DCC(Data Communication Channel). Partially reconstructing the ring map that is unable to restore services because of multi-link failures made it possible to restore these kinds of traffic pattenrs. This paper shows that the services through connected link can be restored by using proposed method.
Advanced Pressurized Water Reactors (APWRs) and Boiling Water Reactors (BWRs) employ a suppression pool as a heat sink to prevent containment overpressure. Steam can be discharged into the pool through multi-hole spargers or blowdown pipes in both normal and accident conditions. Direct Contact Condensation (DCC) creates sources of momentum and heat. The competition between these two sources determines the development of thermal stratification or mixing of the pool. Thermal stratification is of safety concern as it reduces the cooling capability compared to a completely mixed pool condition. In this work we develop a scaling approach to prediction of the thermal stratification in a water pool induced by steam injection through spargers. Experimental data obtained from large-scale pool tests conducted in the PPOOLEX and PANDA facilities, as well as simulation results obtained using validated codes are used to develop the scaling. Two injection orientations, namely radial injection through multi-hole Sparger Head (SH) and vertical injection through Load Reduction Ring (LRR), are considered. We show that the erosion rate of the cold layer can be estimated using the Richardson number. In this work, scaling laws are proposed to estimate both the (i) transient erosion velocity and (ii) the stable position of the thermocline. These scaling laws are then implemented into a 1D model to simulate the thermal behavior of the pool during steam injection through the sparger.
Dynorphin B analogues, $[Arg^{11}, D-Ala^{12}]$dynorphin B, $[D-Ala^2, Ala^6, Arg^{11}, D-Ala^{12}]$dynorphin B, and dynorphin B (1-11) were synthesized by solid-phase method. A chloromethylated polystyrene resin cross-linked with 2% divinylbenzene was substituted with Thr in ethanol to contain 1.20 mmol Thr/g of resin. All amino groups of amino acids were protected with t-Boc group and 2,6-dichlorobenzyl and nitro groups were used to protect the side chains of Tyr and Arg, respectively. Stepwise synthetic method was applied for synthesis of the products. Dicyclohexylcarbodiimide (DCC) and 1-hydroxybenzotriazole (HOBT) were used as the coupling reagents. The crude peptides were purified by gel filteration on Sephadex LH-20 column $(2 \times 50 cm)$ using MeOH/MeCN (3/1) and then characterized with HPLC, amino acid analyzer.
Let S be a semigroup with 0 and R be a ring with 1. We extend the definition of the zero-divisor graphs of commutative semigroups to not necessarily commutative semigroups. We define an annihilating-ideal graph of a ring as a special type of zero-divisor graph of a semigroup. We introduce two ways to define the zero-divisor graphs of semigroups. The first definition gives a directed graph ${\Gamma}$(S), and the other definition yields an undirected graph ${\overline{\Gamma}}$(S). It is shown that ${\Gamma}$(S) is not necessarily connected, but ${\overline{\Gamma}}$(S) is always connected and diam$({\overline{\Gamma}}(S)){\leq}3$. For a ring R define a directed graph ${\mathbb{APOG}}(R)$ to be equal to ${\Gamma}({\mathbb{IPO}}(R))$, where ${\mathbb{IPO}}(R)$ is a semigroup consisting of all products of two one-sided ideals of R, and define an undirected graph ${\overline{\mathbb{APOG}}}(R)$ to be equal to ${\overline{\Gamma}}({\mathbb{IPO}}(R))$. We show that R is an Artinian (resp., Noetherian) ring if and only if ${\mathbb{APOG}}(R)$ has DCC (resp., ACC) on some special subset of its vertices. Also, it is shown that ${\overline{\mathbb{APOG}}}(R)$ is a complete graph if and only if either $(D(R))^2=0,R$ is a direct product of two division rings, or R is a local ring with maximal ideal m such that ${\mathbb{IPO}}(R)=\{0,m,m^2,R\}$. Finally, we investigate the diameter and the girth of square matrix rings over commutative rings $M_{n{\times}n}(R)$ where $n{\geq} 2$.
In order to develop the radio-immunoassay procedure for the ginsenoside $Rg_1$ we prepared the $Rg_1-BSA$ conjugate and $Rg_1-tyramine$ conjugate by condensing the $Rg_1-azide$, which was prepared by a series of six step chemical modification of the $Rg_1-side$ chain, with bovine serum albumin(BSA) or with tyramine. Rabbits were immunized by repeated injection of $Rg_1-BSA$ conjugate with Freund's Complete Adjuvant for 5 month long to obtain very potent $anti-Rg_1$ serum. The radio-labelled haptene was prepared by direct radio-iodination $(125_J)$ of $Rg_1-tyramine$ according to the chloramine-T method. The radio-immunoassay procedure was successfully furnished by using DCC method (dextran coated charcoal) and the anti-body titer of the anti-serum was found as being $1600{\sim}3200$ by using 15000cpm tracer per test. Calibration test using non-labelled $Rg_1$ showed linear competetive binding response in the $(8-300){\times}34pg$. range of non-labelled $Rg_1$. The cross reaction test using 19 ginsenoside analogues enabled us a full structure-activity analysis on the antigen-antibody reaction that the anti-body in the serum would recognize the full structure of ginsenoside $Rg_1$ except the side chain moiety.
