  • This paper describes low temperature poly-Si (LTPS) TFT system on glass (SOG) technology developed in NEC. High resolution SOG-LCDs such as a 230 ppi reflective type LCD, a 2.5", 333 ppi 2D/3D autostereoscopic LCD, and a 2.1" single voltage driven full integration LCD for mobile applications and a 0.9", XGA light valve for projectors are reviewed from the perspective of the high resolution technologies

  • 본 논문에서는 LCD S/C (Shield Case)의 스트립 레이아웃 도를 작성하였다. 프레스 금형에 있어서 스트립 레이아웃 도는 제품 양산을 결정하는 중요 요인이다. 장착되는 다른 부품과의 간섭요인을 용이하게 수정하기 위하여 3D CAD/CAM 시스템을 적용하였다. 사용된 3D CAD/CAM 소프트웨어는 Unigraphics NX 3.0이며 12개 공정으로 스트립 레이아웃 도를 작성하였다.

An Improved Method of LCD Gamma-nonlinearity Error Reduction in Digital Fringe Projection for Optical Three-dimensional Shape Measurement (3차원 광학 측정을 위한 디지털 프린지 투사에 있어서 LCD 비선형 감마 에러 개선 방법)

  • Optical three-dimensional (3D) measurement systems based on digital fringe projection are used in many contactless measurement applications. The system which can measure a dozen micrometers uses a liquid-crystal display (LCD) as the projection unit for generating a digital fringe pattern, because a flexible fringe pattern can be easily made by computer software. According to the gamma nonlinearity of the LCD projection unit, the digital fringe projection error on the object affects the accuracy of 3D object measurement. An improved method of LCD gamma-nonlinearity error reduction is proposed, by using the inverse function of the intensity transfer function to improve the accuracy. The improvement due to the proposed method is shown by measuring the difference in precision between a computer-generated sine wave and a camera-obtained sine wave for a standard semiconductor specimen.

  • 3D Printing has a great advantage for its capabilities in manufacturing complicated structures in a reasonable manufacturing time, and thus is widely used in various fields. Due to the high cost of the equipment and material, a fairly acceptable equipment, the Projection Stereolithography Apparatus (PSLA), has been developed, using the projection pattern approach for the purpose of quick manufacturing. We evaluated its surface quality, as compared with that of other systems. The result is the development of a high-performance, low-cost 3D Printer and its operating software, using LCD and UV LED. Working materials for an optimal manufacturing are suggested in the research, along with some suggestions of basic approaches for enhancing the accuracy and quality of the manufactured structures.

  • This paper proposed device-independent color matching algorithm based on the 3D RGB lookup table (LUT) between mobile camera and mobile LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) to improve the color-fidelity. Proposed algorithm is composed of thee steps, which is device characterization, gamut mapping, 3D RGB-LUT design. First, the characterization of mobile LCD is executed using the sigmoidal function, different from conventional method such as GOG (Gain Offset Gamma) and S-curve modeling, based on the observation of electro-optical transfer function of mobile LCD. Next, mobile camera characterization is conducted by fitting the digital value of GretagColor chart captured under the daylight environment (D65) and tristimulus values (CIELAB) using the polynomial regression. However, the CIELAB values estimated by polynomial regression exceed the maximum boundary of the CIELAB color space. Therefore, these values are corrected by linear compression of the lightness and chroma. Finally, gamut mapping is used to overcome the gamut difference between mobile camera and moible LCD. To implement the real-time processing, 3D RGB-LUT is designed based on the 3D RGB-LUT and its performance is evaluated and compared with conventional method.

  • In this paper, structural analysis was made on two cases in order to develop free rotational method and rotational angle in LCD monitor. The configuration of LCD monitor in field was modeled by using 3-D design program CATIA V5 and structural analysis was done to the modeled LCD in order to obtain stress, strain and total deformation by using ANSYS finite element analysis program.

  • A new technique to construct an auto-stereoscopic display that offers massive horizontal parallax images is proposed Multiple telecetnric imaging systems are arranged in a modified 2D array. The horizontal parallax images displayed by LCD panels are imaged to be superimposed on a 3D screen. All parallax images are displayed in the different horizontal directions because all imaging systems have different horizontal positions. The difference of the vertical display directions due to the imaging system's vertical positions is canceled by a vertical diffuser placed at the 3D screen. Observers can percept 3D images with the binocular disparity, the vergence, and the smooth motion parallax. In addition, the accommodation function may also work because a number of parallax images are displayed with a very small angle interval in the horizontal direction. A prototype 3D display including 64 color LCD panels was constructed.

  • Accommodation error is one of the main factors that degrade the comfort while watching stereoscopic 3D images. We analyze the limit of the expressible 3D depth without an accommodation error using the human factor information and wave optical calculation under Fresnel approximation.

  • We report the transparent getter performance of $POCl_3$ and amine based system by using the acid-base reaction in the fastest chemical reaction for top emitting OLEDs. OLED device including synthesized getter component exhibited stable current-voltage curve after 500 hours under $60^{\circ}C$, 90% RH storage condition and showed stable surface performance until 520 hours.
