단일 액적의 Zig-Zag 운동 시뮬레이션 (A LIQUID DROPLET SIMULATION ON ZIG-ZAG MOTION)

  • The motion of a rising liquid droplet is different that of a bubble motion. Treatment of liquid drops is more complex because internal motion must be considered. A 3D unstructured CFD code has been developed to solve incompressible N-S equation for the droplet simulation. This front-tracking consideration which the interface is tracked explicitly is very available to apply for not only exact interface topology but also the high schmidt number issue, such as $CO_2$ dissolution. This paper is forced on the zig-zag motion of the liquid droplet. The simulation shows that if the rising droplet is located at the corner of the zig-zag path, the velocity is low and shape of the droplet is more spherical shape, results in the less drag coefficient. Twin horse shoe vortexes behind the rising droplet are presented and the topology of the droplet is compared with an experimental result during one period of the path.

  • A simple octree encoding algorithm based on a tetrahedron root has been developed to be used for fully automatic generation of three dimensional finite element meshes. This algorithm starts octree decomposition from a tetrahedron root node instead of a hexahedron root node so that the terminal mode has the same topology as the final tetrahedral mesh. As a result, the terminal octant can be used as a tetrahedral finite element without transforming its topology. In this part(I) of the thesis, an efficient algorithm for the tetrahedron-based octree is proposed. For this development, the following problems have been solved, : (1) an efficient data structure for storing the octree and finite elements, (2) an encoding scheme of a tetrahedral octree, (3) a neighbor finding technique for the tetrahedron-based octree.

  • The three-phase four-leg voltage source inverter (VSI) topology can be an interesting option for the three phase-four wire system. With an additional leg, this topology can achieve superior performance with unbalanced and/or nonlinear load. This paper proposes a new hybrid controller which combines PI controller and resonant controller in synchronous frame for three phase four leg inverter. The hybrid controller is simple in structure and easy to implement. The performance of proposed controller is verified by the experiments and compared with that of the conventional PI controller.

위상 최적 설계를 통한 복합소재 대차프레임용 제동장치 브래킷의 경량화 연구 (Lightweight Design of Brake Bracket for Composite Bogie Using Topology Optimization)

  • 본 연구에서는 위상 최적 설계 기법을 활용하여 복합소재 대차프레임의 제동장치 브래킷 경량 설계를 수행하였다. 제동장치 브래킷은 12t 와 9t 로 각각 두 가지 모델을 대상으로 하였다. 위상최적화시 설계영역은 단면적이 가장 넓은 수직면과 수평면으로 설정하였다. 제한조건은 제동장치 브래킷의 Z 축의 변위 값을 초기 변위 값보다 2.5% 증가이고, 목적함수는 제동장치 브래킷의 질량 최소화로 하였다. 또한 최적화 계산 시간을 줄이기 위해 대차프레임을 생략하고 대차프레임 대신 1D beam 요소를 적용하여 Z 축 변위를 기준으로 전체모델과 동일하게 등가시켜 두 모델간의 상관성을 확보 하였다. 그 결과 12t 모델은 60kg, 9t 모델은 31kg 감소하였고, 최적화 모델의 유한요소해석을 통하여 안전성을 검증하였다.

  • The viscoelastic layer material is widely used to control the noise and vibration characteristics of the panel structure. This paper describes the design technology of the effective vibration damping treatment using the concept of the equivalent parameter of viscoelastic layer materials. Applying the equivalent parameter concepts based on theories of shell, it is possible to simulate the finite element analysis of damping layer panel treatments on the vibration characteristics of the structure. And it is achieved the reduced computational cost and the optimal design of topological distribution for the reduction of vibration effect.

  • 최근 3차원 실내 외 공간정보데이터 모델에 대한 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 이러한 데이터 모델을 기반으로 구축된 3차원 공간데이터는 양이 방대하고 비교적 복잡한 구조를 갖는다. 따라서 이를 효과적으로 저장 및 관리, 응용하기 위해서는 DBMS를 활용하는 것이 유리하다. 이러한 필요에 의해 Gep-DBMS에서 데이터를 저장하고 응용하는 연구가 많이 이루어지고 있는데 Oosterom, Arens 등이 3차원 건물, 지표의 Geometry와 Topology를 DBMS에 저장하는 방법을 연구하였다. 본 논문은 GML3 기반의 3차원 도시 모델의 저장 및 교환을 위한 포맷인 CityGML 1.0을 따르는 구조로 데이터를 데이터베이스에 저장하였으며, 상용 DBMS인 Oracle Spatial 11g를 사용하였다.

  • A X-band 3-stage monolithic LNA (low noise amplifier) with series feedback has been successfully desined and demonstrated by suign 0.5-$\mu\textrm{m}$ GaAs MESFET. In the design of the 3-stage LNA, the effects of series feedback to the noise figure, the gain, and the stability have been investigated ot find the optimal short stub length. As a result, the inductive series feedback topology which has 10degree short stub in the GaAs MESFET source lead, has been employed in the 1-st stage. The fabricated MMIC LNA's chip size is only 1mm$^{2}$/stage, which is smaller than the previously reported X-band MMIC input/output return losses are less than -10dB and -15dB, respectively. The noise figure (NF) is less than 2.6dB. The measured data show good agreement with the simulated values.

  • In spite of the advance of 3D solid modeling technology, there are some distinct areas where 2D CAD S/W are still dominant, and more competent comparing with 3D CAD S/W. For example, in the manufacturing of 2D-shaped electrical parts, most related manufacturing tools have 2D geometric features by nature, and 3D solid models applied to these parts have substantial overheads. Nevertheless, most 2D CAD S/W have no topological inquiry services because they have no such information on their geometrical database inherently. Thus, it is needed to extract such information from 2D CAD database for developing more advanced application such as automated drafting/design S/W. In this paper, the extraction of topological information from 2D CAD has been performed in general way using concept of B-rep. A general extraction algorithm, data structure and meta file format for 2D topological object have been developed and successfully applied to the development of the automated lead frame die design system in Samsung Aerospace. it is also possible to provide a flexible, powerful topology-oriented functionality on any common 2D CAD S/W.

  • 3 차원 인체 스캔 차원 기술의 활용도는 정확도의 개선과 가격의 저렴화로 인해 산업계에서 점점 부각되고 있다. 이런 인체 스캔 데이터의 활용도를 높이기 위해서는 인체 스캔 데이터의 기준점 추출이 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 자동으로 인체 스캔 데이터의 기준점을 추출하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 이를 위해 여러 인체 스캔 데이터들을 활용하여 주성분 분석을 하고 최적화를 거쳐 마커 없는 매칭을 수행한다. 최종적으로는 생성된 인체 모델의 위상 구조에서 기준점을 추출한다.

Liver Segmentation and 3D Modeling from Abdominal CT Images

  • Medical image processing is a compulsory process to diagnose many kinds of disease. Therefore, an automatic algorithm for this task is highly demanded as an important part to construct a computer-aided diagnosis system. In this paper, we introduce an automatic method to segment the liver region from 3D abdominal CT images using Otsu method. First, we choose a 2D slice which has most liver information from the whole 3D image. Secondly, on the chosen slice, we enhanced the image based on its intensity using Otsu method with multiple thresholds and use the threshold to enhance the whole 3D image. Then, we apply a liver mask to mark the candidate liver region. After that, we execute the Otsu method again to segment the liver region from the chosen slice and propagate the result to the whole 3D image. Finally, we apply preprocessing on the frontal side of 3D images to crop only the liver region from the image.
