A Study on the educational method of the conceptual approach of 3D animation (3D Animation 교육에 대한 개념적 접근 방식에 대한 연구)

  • Nowdays many people using and learning 3D Software. However, like artists drawing by brush, that most of designers misunderstood that 3D Software is cover everything as a tool. This sort of situation, change of 3D Software will come to the front very seriously. It can be result about lack of understanding 3D in general and some kind of illusion about 3D Software. These were changing like training school that was teaching only function for technique. Therefore, to prevent above things, this research paper will be based on a conception, that compare with 3D which called cyber space and the real world. That is explanation of construction about 3D Software generally, that will basis how does people think about the world. It function of 3D Software will take concrete shape gradually, which is after general description and understanding and the users will be quick to understand, no need to difficult of access for beginners. In addition, higher education ay university is no longer training center. Lastly, it will be able to capability as an essentially figure. Nowdays many people using and learning 3D Software.   • This thesis is about to find possible opportunity to use Freeware Software in development and application of Digital Contents Creation software. There are 2D composition and Editing software, 3D production software and rendering Software as major part and motion capture, 3D Digitizing and other software operate in and out facilities in small part in Digital Contents Creation Software area. Most of Digital Contents Creation Software made by foreign countries such as USA and Canadian film, game and animation Digital Contents Creation industry, this causes higher production cost and lower profit of studios and usage of illegal copy of Digital Contents Creation Software as well. This thesis tried to present a solution to use Freeware Software in production process by researching and analyzing international and domestic software market and global trend of Freeware Software and present Freeware Software software in each production steps. This thesis include performance test of commercial render Freeware software.

  • In this study, development of 3D software for automated formwork design was conducted to achieve optimization and reduction of labor for temporary work. Through the literature review, the current technical level was identified and the required functions of 3D software for automated formwork design were derived. The 3D software should be developed with the aim of automating 3D design, improving construction quality and utilizing the Internet of Things. As a preliminary step to develop 3D software, the prototype demo version was developed to implement 3D design automation function, which confirm the possibility of 3D software development.

A Survey on the 3D Printer Users' Experiences of 3D Modelling Software and Proposal of 3D Modeling Software Development for Koreans (3D프린터 사용자들의 3D모델링 소프트웨어 사용경험 탐색 및 한국인을 위한 3D모델링 소프트웨어 개발제안)

  • While the second and the third industrial revolutions made it possible a few standardized designs to be extracted and produced in large quantities, the recent development of the 3D printing technology allowed many individuals to reflect their unique personal characteristics on their creative works and produce them in large quantities-i.e., personally customized designs and mass production of various designs. However, for the customized designs and the mass production of various designs through the 3D printing technology, the individuals should use a 3D modeling software and the supporting features of the software can significantly affect the type and shape of a creative work. In this study, we surveyed the individuals who design the creative works using 3D printers about the type of software that they use and the type of creative works that they design using the software, to propose a possible direction of new software that supports their activities. To do this, we first surveyed sixty members of the OpenCreators, which is the largest 3D printing creator community in South Korea, about the 3D modelling Software that they use for their 3D printing creations, the best 3D modelling software for the 3D printing, and the type of frequently printing creation using the best 3D modelling software. We then analysed the response results. As a result, we found that most of 3D printing creators in South Korea use Rhino and 123D Design. More specifically, the Rhino was being widely used by the people in the 3D printing industry to print prototypes, samples, and mock-ups, while the 123D Design was being mainly used for general purposes such as educational tools, accessories, and home interior accessories. Therefore, we believe it is necessary to develop the software in two separated categories, i.e. for the business, like the Rhino, and for the beginners, and educational and personal purposes, like the 123D Design. Finally, we stressed and proposed the necessity to support individual creators by developing an industry-specific 3D modeling software.

  • With increasing interest in 3D printing, the interest in the 3D modelling training that should precede the 3D printing is increasing. However, the existing 3D modelling software is developed mostly by foreign brands. Thus, the interfaces are all in English. 3D modelling software training for Korean novices who are not familiar with these terms has constraints. This study aims to explore what to consider when developing a Korean model for 3D modelling educational software for 3D printing in the face of such reality. For this goal, after having novices with no experience in 3D modeling to perform a house building task using either 12D Design or Tinker CAD, we conducted a survey. It was found in the result that more users favored Tinker CAD over 123D Design, and the errors involved while working with the Tinker CAD were less than those with the 123D Design, and the ratio of people who completed the task with the Tinker CAD was higher than that with the 123D Design. In general discussion, an introductory level educational 3D modeling software development is proposed which utilize characteristics of Tinker CAD (easy modelling is possible by three-dimensional figures) and web-based method. Also, a beginner/intermediate level educational 3D modeling software development is proposed which utilize characteristics of 123D Design (with finer measurement manipulations and figure alignment) and Windows-based method.

  • The development of hardware, popularization of 3D graphics software could get to easily use 3d graphics tool in the school. And learning difficulties of a shape section increased through more being enforced a shape section of an elementary school. Thus we try to improve learning effectiveness in a shape section using Sketech Up software. To do this, we analyzed existing studies, classified 3D graphics software, provided the selection criteria of vector graphics software. And we explained how to select 3D graphics software. We selected and reorganized the shape contents to use Sketch Up, which make and rotate 3D figures, understand aspects of a shape. And we inserted the content about piling 3D figures in the beginning state of the curriculum. we composed 10 periods and practiced our reorganized curriculum to the teaching and learning using Sketch Up. And we conducted before & after survey to check out t-verified. And we acquired meaningful results statistically. Thus applying Sketch Up to the shape learning can be analyzed effectively.

A Survey on Characteristics and Application Domains of 3D Factory Simulation Technology (3D 팩토리 시뮬레이션 기술의 특징과 응용 분야에 대한 고찰)

  • Purpose Recently, 3D factory simulation technology has emeged as a powerful tool for modeling and analysis of a wide range of production systems, however, it has been not paid much attention in Korea. In this context, this paper aims to provide a comprehensive literature review on discrete event simulation softwares and introduce a promising 3D factory simulation software called FlexSim and its application domains. Design/methodology/approach In order to demonstrate worldwide popularity and technical superiority of FlexSim software, we analyzed the recent list of rankings for commercial discrete simulation softwares released by winter simulation conference and users' opinions collected from business software review site. Moreover, several main application domains are derived from a review of the previous research papers that deal with applications of FlexSim software. Findings FlexSim software recently moved up the list of major commercial simulation softwares, and technical superiorities of the software demonstrate that it is a promising tool for practical 3D factory simulation. Moreover, recent research papers suggest that FlexSim software can be used as a component of smart factory system. In this context, it is expected that FlexSim software becomes more popular in the era of industry 4.0.

  • Computer graphic where the most useful and effective production methods are used for animation or films has expanded into actors' performance beyond object expression, background expression and special effect. Unlike 2D drawing software focusing on user's sense, 3D mainly depends on hardware performance and software functions. Therefore, for 3D users, learning 3D functions is directly related to new expression, and quick learning and effective representation are keys to productivity growth in animation industry. In line with industrial needs, basic 3D animation software training is provided in school. Unfortunately, however, many problems such as lack of professional instructors, time allocation and education environment prevent various 3D animation software from being taught. Moreover, functional use does not live up to industrial rapid trends. In order to improve effects of software functional education in restricted education fields, this research aims to find out what functions of 3D animation software are used in industries, what are those function used for, and how schools provide 3D animation software training.

  • Recent trend in petroleum/gas exploration is an application of 3D seismic exploration technique. Unlike the conventional 2D seismic data processing, 3D seismic data processing is considered as the one which requires expensive commercial software systems and high performance computer. This paper propose a practical 3D seismic processing methodology on a personal computer using public domain software such as SU, SEPlib, and SEPlib3D. The applicability of the proposed method has been demonstrated by successful application to a well known realistic 3D synthetic data, SEG/EAGE 3D salt model data.
