맞춤형 Targeting 3차윈 컨텐츠 Data 서비스 (The Targeting for Users Data Service of 3D-mesh contents)

  • With the opening of digital broadcast services and development of wire/wireless Internet, the current multimedia broadcasting is provided for has various services. The user will be provided lots of various content through the various channel and media. Content provider and consumer want the various service using content with the better quality which is fit to user preference. For transmitting this content in the limited transmission channel capacity, it needs to transmit the highly compressed content which user wants. The content of 3D mesh model-based on MPEG-4 enables the various content service that provides the lower capacity and the better quality, and Targeting service enables just provide the contents that user more wants and likes. The adaption of Java application program and 3D program can provide the content service utilizing 3D mesh model, so content provider and consumer can share the more information about the content. This paper has presented the study on the targeting service using compression of 3D mesh model-based on MPEG-4 and the adaptation of Java application program using it

  • The domestic fashion industry is not able to exceed the level of fashion that exists in advanced countries due to the relatively weak design competitiveness and the differentiated capability of product development. In order for the domestic fashion industry to become a growth industry that is valued in the world market of infinite competition, a step-by-step support system that can demonstrate and maintain the creative ability of designers is needed. Therefore, this study proposes a template - based 3D virtual fashion technology and a digital fashion platform based on it. The proposed template - based 3D virtual fashion technology is designed to clearly communicate the intention of designers and to be able to instantaneously view the results, thereby reducing the time and cost of producing prototypes. In addition, the digital fashion platform based on the template is designed as a collaborative platform based on idea sharing, which dramatically improves the process of confirming the prototype and initiating the product planning and manufacturing stages. This new technology can contributes to the formation of a business environment and a new area within the existing fashion industry and can be utilized for the development of the fashion industry in the future.

A Research on AI Generated 2D Image to 3D Modeling Technology

  • Advancements in generative AI are reshaping graphic and 3D content design landscapes, where AI not only enriches graphic design but extends its reach to 3D content creation. Though 3D texture mapping through AI is advancing, AI-generated 3D modeling technology in this realm remains nascent. This paper presents AI 2D image-driven 3D modeling techniques, assessing their viability in 3D content design by scrutinizing various algorithms. Initially, four OBJ model-exporting AI algorithms are screened, and two are further evaluated. Results indicate that while AI-generated 3D models may not be directly usable, they effectively capture reference object structures, offering substantial time savings and enhanced design efficiency through manual refinements. This endeavor pioneers new avenues for 3D content creators, anticipating a dynamic fusion of AI and 3D design.

Application of Three-dimensional Scanning, Haptic Modeling, and Printing Technologies for Restoring Damaged Artifacts

  • This study examined the applicability of digital technologies based on three-dimensional(3D) scanning, modeling, and printing to the restoration of damaged artifacts. First, 3D close-range scanning was utilized to make a high-resolution polygon mesh model of a roof-end tile with a missing part, and a 3D virtual restoration of the missing part was conducted using a haptic interface. Furthermore, the virtual restoration model was printed out with a 3D printer using the material extrusion method and a PLA filament. Then, the additive structure of the printed output with a scanning electron microscope was observed and its shape accuracy was analyzed through 3D deviation analysis. It was discovered that the 3D printing output of the missing part has high dimensional accuracy and layer thickness, thus fitting extremely well with the fracture surface of the original roof-end tile. The convergence of digital virtual restoration based on 3D scanning and 3D printing technology has helped in minimizing contact with the artifact and broadening the choice of restoration materials significantly. In the future, if the efficiency of the virtual restoration modeling process is improved and the material stability of the printed output for the purpose of restoration is sufficiently verified, the usability of 3D digital technologies in cultural heritage restoration will increase.

  • 건설산업 영역의 스마트 건설 기술 도입이 빠르게 진행되고 있다. BIM(Building Information Modeling), 드론, 인공지능, 빅데이터, 사물인터넷 기술 등 스마트 건설 기술을 활용하여 시공 현장의 재해율을 낮추고 시공 기간을 단축시키는 효과를 가져온다. 건설 시공 현장 관리를 위한 디지털 트윈 플랫폼을 도입하기 위해서는 실제 시공 현장을 가상의 공간과 동일하게 구축하여 실시간으로 현장 관리를 가능하게 한다. 디지털 트윈 가상공간 구축방법은 시공 전주기 데이터를 수집 및 가공을 하고 3D 모델 파일을 이용하여 시각화 한다. 본 논문에서는 디지털 트윈 공간을 구성하는 3D 모델링을 3차원 공간 데이터를 기반으로 자동생성하여 효율적인 디지털 트윈 공간을 구축하는 모델링 자동화 기법을 소개한다.

  • Stereoscopic/autostereoscopic systems have been developed in order to express true 3D images, but have never had great success in the practical use. In order to apply 3D display to promising applications such as advertisements and games, we've developed a 42" 2D/3D switchable display. It has characteristics that don't require special glasses for 3D images, use multi-view technology for improving 3D viewing characteristics, and has a 2D/3D switching function to express dynamic 3D contents as well as conventional 2D contents.

조선시대 백자 연적 편(片)을 활용한 3차원 디지털 복원 기술 연구 (A Study on the 3D Digital Restoration Technology Using a Shard of a Joseon Dynasty White Porcelain Water Dropper)

  • 일부분만 편으로 발굴된 도자기의 경우 원형의 형태를 유추하기 어려워 복원에 한계가 있다. 수작업 방식에 한계가 있는 경우, 디지털 기술을 통해 복원이 이루어지고 있는데, 도자기의 원형을 추정하고 복원의 방향성을 설정한다. 본 연구에서는 디지털 기술에 대한 정보를 획득하고, 활용 가능성을 확인하기 위해 백자연적 편을 대상으로 디지털 복원을 진행하였다. 결과, 문양과 색상 정보가 입혀진 3차원 데이터를 획득하였으며 하나의 편을 통해 원형의 모습을 확인하였다. 이러한 기술은 유물과의 최소한의 접촉으로 손상 가능성을 최소화할 수 있다. 디지털 기술은 추정복원으로 왜곡의 위험성이 항상 존재하며 사용자의 숙련도에 따라 결과물의 차이가 나타나므로 주의가 필요하지만, 도면화 작업 등 활용 가능성이 뛰어날 것으로 판단된다.

유비쿼터스 환경에서 디지털 패션을 위한 가상 피팅 서비스 솔루션 (Virtual Fitting Solutions for Digital Fashion in the Ubiquitous Environment)

  • 인터넷과 컴퓨터 그래픽 기술의 발전으로 최근 디지털 패션 기술 분야에서는 의상을 3D로 재현한 가상 피팅 서비스를 가능하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 매장, 인터넷 쇼핑몰, 광고 등 여러 상황에서 가상거울, PC, 모바일 등 다양한 장치에서 가상 피팅 서비스를 이용할 수 있는 통합 솔루션을 제안한다. 제안하는 통합 솔루션은 총 3가지 방법으로 다음과 같다. 첫 번째 방법은 매장에 비치된 가상 거울을 통해 터치를 통한 입력으로 가상 피팅을 이용한다. 두 번째 방법은 인터넷 쇼핑몰에 접속하여 의상 상품과 아바타를 이용한 가상 피팅을 체험한다. 마지막 방법은 모바일 어플리케이션에서 2차원 바코드로 의상 정보를 입력하여 디지털 패션을 위한 3D 가상 피팅 서비스를 체험할 수 있다. 또한 체험한 가상 피팅 결과를 이미지 파일 형태의 멀티미디어 메시지 서비스(MMS)로 다른 사람에게 전송할 수 있는 솔루션을 구축하였다.

  • Digital holography is generally regarded as one of the most possible candidates for achieving a real 3D display system in that it can fully record and reconstruct the wave characteristics of light. In addition, 3D display systems based on digital holographic technology do not cause a vergence-accommodation mismatch problem. In this report, the recent trends in digital holographic display technology are described, and recent research results related to the fields of augmented reality and virtual reality are also briefly reported.

  • This research examines the possibilities of a traditional costume revival and digital exhibition as well as the application of 3D virtual clothing modeling data in order to preserve and record a disappearing costume heritage to realize it as a social education tool through the newly emerging technology of 3D virtual clothing. A 3D revival of costumes worn by royal families and aristocrats was accomplished through the 3D animation and simulation technology of Maya 2011 (Autodesk, Inc.) and Qualoth (FX Gear, Inc.). The simulation shows the possibility of a 3D revival and digital exhibition of costume heritage. However, further technology support to analyze and realize the composition and design is still necessary to develop the digital contents of traditional garment culture that includes skirt pleats, petticoat silhouettes, that exaggerates the skirts and knots of traditional upper garments (Jeogori). Further studies on design attributes of historic costumes and the upgrading of 3D simulation software are required to realize 3D virtual clothing. Korean traditional costumes will be revived as a cultural content in the digital era as a result of outstanding issues detected by this study.
