Objectives: This was to examine and explore the elements of Size Korea 6th 3D head anthropometric database and to provide basic information for the selection of respirators in Korea. Methods: This was a pilot study for the first year of work in a two-year-project initiated at KOSHA in 2021. 3D head dimensions data were obtained from the Size Korea Center managing the Size Korea 6th 3D national anthropometry survey databases. The 3D head dimensions data, including 45 dimensions, were used in line with ISO standards (e.g., ISO/TS 16976-2) for examinations, comparisons, statistical analyses, etc. Results: A total of 3,088 subjects were finally determined in this study. The main features were: Male subjects were 52.5%; the highest age group was 15-29 at 36.7%; unhealthy weight group based on BMI was 31.7%; and survey area was the capital region. For the 6th 3D head dimensions data with 45 items, the means and standard deviations for 'Face length' were 115.9±7.5 cm for males and 107.3±6.9 cm for females respectively while those for 'Face width' item were not available since there was no such item in the data. Numerous findings were discussed accordingly. Conclusions: This study showed that there were likely requirements for improvements in the 6th 3D head anthropometric data as follows: Standardization of Korean and English terms; addition of head dimensions items missed in the Size Korea survey; and reliability of generalizability for subjects, suggesting that the study results can be used for further studies or improvement of respirator selection in Korea.
This paper empirically evaluates the effects of regional and industrial R&D on the performances of individual firms in two separated stages: (1) the stage of technological outcome from R&D and (2) the stage of economic outcome from technological outcome. Technological spillovers are separated from negative congestion effects through the stage-specific estimation. The firm-level Korean Innovation Survey data merit in coping with the endogeneity problem inherent in the estimation of spillovers. The estimation results show that: (1) there exist significant R&D spillovers both in regional and industrial dimensions, (2) the hypothesized technological spillovers and economic congestion effects are both in effect, and (3) firms with smaller individual R&D investments show greater spillovers.
This study aimed to identify risk factors for type 2 diabetes (T2D) in Korea, a rapidly changing country. Data of 5,132 adults aged 20-85 were used from the 2001 Korean Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. Multiple logistic regression was carried out to identify risk factors for T2D. Three models were specified: (i) socioeconomic and demographic factors (model 1: age, gender, education, poverty income ratio, employment), (ii) behavioral risk factors and covariates (model 2: obesity, physical activity, smoking, alcohol drinking, dietary quality, family history of T2D, co-morbidity) and (iii) socioeconomic, demographic, and behavioral factors (model 3). The prevalence of T2D was 7.4%. Less education (OR 1.41, 95% CI 1.08-1.84), age (OR 2.19, 95% CI 1.56-3.08 in 40-59 yrs, OR 4.05, 95% CI 2.76-5.95 in 60 yrs + comparing to 20-39 yrs) and abdominal obesity (OR 2.24, 95% CI 1.79-2.82) were risk factors for T2D even after controlling for other factors simultaneously. There was a significant association of T2D with ever smoking (OR 1.34, 95% CI 1.06-1.67). The relationship of age with T2D was modified by gender in model 1 and the relationship of smoking with T2D was modified by obesity in model 2. Less educated, older, obese or ever smokers were more likely to have T2D. Gender mediated the relationship of age, and obesity mediated the relationship of smoking, with T2D. Intervention programs for T2D in Korea should take the interactions among risk factors into account.
This study analyzes the key factors of 3D spatial information in accordance with the establishment of aerial and ground equipment fusion, and the quality improvement solutions are delivered from the preference survey. Furthermore, it investigates the factors affecting the quality of the individual technical elements through the establishment of three-dimensional spatial information. It is for identifying the priority which needs to be improved, and this data will be used to identify the evaluation for factors, the technology development and its application. For this purpose, the presence or absence of equality is judged by the quantitative techniques through the preference survey of the gap between the experts of spatial information and survey and the general users who have experiences on 3D spatial information.

The purpose of this study is to provide fundamental data for the development of new course on 3D printing in the fashion design department. In order to investigate the perception of and educational needs in 3D printing, the data were collected from 266 students (female 68.8%, male 31.2%) majoring in fashion design aged 18-25 living in the capital area. The results of this survey showed that when investigating perceptions of 3D printing, it was found that 68.8% of answerers had indeed heard of 3D printing. Regarding the path they came to know about 3D printing, mass media such TV was the most frequent answer (54.6%). On the other hand, to the question asking about their intention to take the subject if given, approximately 71% said "Yes". Also, if a modeling class were given, the division that they wanted to explore most in the fashion industry was fashion jewelry. Finally, to the question asking interest in starting a business, 71.1% answered that they had interest. Out of those that answered that they had interest, when questioned about in which field they wanted to start a business, the most frequent answer was fashion online shopping mall. Finally, NCS-based 3D printing courses were suggested in the Fashion Design area. As 3D printing techniques are actively applied to the fashion industry overseas, creative education is needed through the integration of fashion and 3D printing technology by introducing 3D printing related programs in colleges.
A large sample can Provide more information about the Population. As the sample size Increases, analysts will be more confident about the survey results. On the other hand, the costs for survey will increase in time and manpower. Therefore, determination of the sample size is a trade-off between the required accuracy and the cost. In addition, permitted error and significance level should be considered. Sample size determination in surveys for O/D estimation is also connected with confidence of survey result. However, the past methods were usually too simple to consider confidence. Therefore, a new method for O/D surveys was Proposed and it was accurate enough, but it has too large sample size when we have current budget constraint. In this research, several minimum sample size determination methods for origin-destination survey under budget constraint were proposed. Each method decreased sample size, but has its own advantages. Selection of the sample size will depend on the study Purpose and budget constraint.
Many trials to set up the correlation between the rock mass classification and the earth resistivity have been carried out to design tunnel support type based on the interpreted electrical resistivity acquired by surface electrical survey. But it is hard to find reports on the comparison of the real rock support type determined during the excavation with the electrical resistivity by the inversion of the survey data acquired before the tunneling. In this study, the rock mass classification based on the face mapping data and the resistivity inversion data are investigated to see if it is possible to design reliably the rock support type based on the surface electrical survey. To get the quantitative correlation, rock engineering indices such as RCR(rock condition rating), N(Rock mass number), Q-system and RMR(rock mass rating) are calculated. Since resistivity data has low resolution, Kriging method as a post processing technique which minimizes the estimated variance is used to improve resolution. The result of correlation analysis shows that the 2D electrical resistivity survey is appropriate to see the general trend of the geology in the sense of rock type, though there might be some local area where these two factors do not coincide. But the correlation between the result of 3D survey and the rock mass classification turns out to be very high, and then 3D electrical resistivity survey can make it possible to set up more reliable rock support type.
1. Introduction Community medicine with the concept of comprehensive medical care and an ideal medical care delivery system not only for an individual or family but for the whole community has emerged. In April 1970, the Presbyterian Medical Center started a hospital based community health service project in order to improve the health of the people in rural areas. Prior to commencing a comprehensive medical care system, a family survey was needed. The major objective of this survey was to obtain information concerning the people and their environment so as to be able to plan and implement a comprehensive medical care program in Soyang-Myun. 2. Survey Method An interview using a family record form was carried out for each household. This family record form was designed to get information about demography, family planning, environmental sanitation and vital statistics. Prior to beginning, the members of the survey team were trained in interviewing techniques for three days. The team consisted of a public health nurse, four nurse-aides, a sanitarian and four health extension workers who are working in our project, The survey was carried out during the period November 1971 to March 1972. 3. This study analyzed differences between three-dimensional (3D) body scanning and manual measurements, aiming to assess whether 3D scanning can replace traditional anthropometric tools, such as tape measures and calipers. Data from 4,478 participants in the 8th Size Korea Project were analyzed, covering 43 measurement items. Since Given that the 3D and manual measurements were performed on the same subjects in the 8th Size Korea Project, it was possible to determine the correlation more accurately between the two measurement methods more accurately. Using Applying ISO 20685-1(2018) standards, 15 out of the 43 items fell within allowable error limits. When classified into six types, "small circumferences" and "segment lengths" showed averages of 3.35 mm and 3.10 mm, respectively, within acceptable range. "Body heights" and "body depths" slightly exceeded the limit, with averages of 5.28 mm and 6.58 mm. "Body widths" and "large circumferences" surpassed the limit, with means of 16.77 mm and 16.18 mm. The study offers an objective basis to for validate validating 3D measurements' measurements' reliability and accuracy, addressing various industries' needs for information on the human body's dimensions information.
Examples of GPR survey results at a variety of archaeological sites are presented. Several new analyses which include static corrections for the tilt of the GPR antenna are shown for imaging of burial mounds with significant topography. Example archaeological site plans developed from GPR remote sensing of Roman and Japanese sites are given. The first completely automated GPR survey, using only Global Positioning Satellite navigation to create 3D data volumes, is employed for a site in Louisiana to detect lost graves of the Choctaw Indian Tribe.
