3D graphics applications require managing and displaying objects as well as handling events. These tasks are quite complex for applications to worry about and are common to many applications. Therefore, many attempts have been made to provide toolkits with these capabilities for those applications. This paper presents a toolkit that is easy to use and well suited for the modeling and rendering tasks. The object-oriented programming techniques used in designing the toolkit make it flexible and easily extensible.

There are many essential elements in making the realistic 3D games, of which one of the most important is mapping. Mapping can add the details to 3D objects easily, which are impossible or difficult by modeling alone, and can reduce file data capacities to run the game engine. The theory of the mapping is to throw 2D image on 3D object correctly, but they do not match each other at the rate of 1:1 100 percent completely due to the difference of the fundamental property of them. To solve this problem, various kinds of mapping methods are developed and used. This paper will compare and analyze the characteristics, and merits and demerits of these various kinds of mapping methods and will inquire which method is the most efficient one.
A 3D modeling of urban area can be composed the terrain modeling that can express specific and shape of the terrain and the object modeling such as buildings, trees and facilities which are found in urban areas. Especially in a 3D modeling of building, it is very important to make a unit model by simplifying 3D structure and to take a texture mapping, which can help visualize surface information. In this study, the texture mapping technique, based on library for 3D urban modeling, was used for building modeling. This technique applies the texture map in the form of library which is constructed as building types, and then take mapping to the 3D building frame. For effectively apply, this technique, we classified buildings automatically using LiDAR data and made 3D frame using LiDAR and digital map. To express the realistic building texture, we made the texture library using real building photograph.

This study tried to create 3D object with LOD3 level for Korean traditional house which is atypical structure, upload to spatial information open platform and confirm the possibility for creating 3D-map. And this study tried to create 3D model for Korean traditional house based on BIM, performed 3D modeling for interior spatial information of Korean traditional house and confirm the development possibility of 3D modeling and visualization method of Korean traditional house. Also this study present the possibility of LOD4 level visualization for spatial information of Korean traditional house which is atypical structure, but 3D object with LOD4 level can't be uploaded to Spatial Information Open Platform currently, cause by data volume limitation of spatial information open platform.
In this paper, we propose a method for reconstructing a 3D object (or a set of objects) from a 2D drawing provided by a designer. The input 2D drawing consists of a set of contours that may partially overlap each other or be self-overlapping. Accordingly, the resulting 3D object(s) may occlude each other or be self-occluding. The proposed method is composed of three major steps: 2D contour analysis, 3D skeleton computation, and 3D object construction. Our main contribution is to compute the 3D skeleton from the self-intersecting 2D counterpart. We formulate the 3D skeleton construction problem as a sequence of optimization problems, to shape the skeleton and place it in the 3D space while satisfying C1-continuity and intersection-free conditions. Our method is mainly for a silhouette-based sketching interface for the design of 3D objects including self-intersecting objects.

We propose a 3D modeling method for surface inspection of non-constant velocity moving object. 1'lie laser lines reflect tile surface curvature. We can acquire 3D surface information by analyzing projected laser lines on object. In this paper, we use multi-line laser to improve the single stripe method and high speed of single frame. Binarization and edge extraction of frame image were proposed for robust laser each line extraction. A new labeling method was used for laser line labeling. We acquired some feature points for image matching from the frame data and juxtaposed the frames data to obtain a 3D shape image. We verified the superiority of proposed method by applying it to inspect container's damages.

In the fields of design within civil engineering, BIM based Utilization of 3D object model is still far from commercialization. In this paper, BIM based 3D object model is composed for PSC box girder, super structure of railway bridge. The basic unit of the model is part model. The part model is the minimum unit model. And it has hierarchy to reflect the characteristics of structures. Change orders of structural designer must be reflected quickly in the 3D object model. Repetitive change orders are occurred in actual construction process. To prepare that, we classified design variables to parameters. Change orders of structural designer can be reflected quickly in the 3D object model because those parameters are related with information of 3D object model. In this paper, we studied various benefits of BIM based design method with 3D object model in the fields of design within civil engineering, and proposed the efficient application method of 3D object model for PSC box girder.

To generate a complete 3D model from depth images of multiple RGB-D cameras, it is necessary to find 3D transformations between RGB-D cameras. This paper proposes a convenient view calibration technique using a spherical object. Conventional view calibration methods use either planar checkerboards or 3D objects with coded-pattern. In these conventional methods, detection and matching of pattern features and codes takes a significant time. In this paper, we propose a convenient view calibration method using both 3D depth and 2D texture images of a spherical object simultaneously. First, while moving the spherical object freely in the modeling space, depth and texture images of the object are acquired from all RGB-D camera simultaneously. Then, the external parameters of each RGB-D camera is calibrated so that the coordinates of the sphere center coincide in the world coordinate system.

Digital Manufacturing is a technology to facilitate effective product developments and agile productions by digital environments representing the physical and logical schema and the behavior of real manufacturing system including manufacturing resources, processes and products. A digital factory as a well-designed and integrated environment is essential for successful applications of this technology. In this research, we constructed a sophisticated digital factory of an automotive company’ general assembly shop by measuring and 3-D CAD modeling using parametric methods. Specific parameters of each objects were decided by object-oriented schema of the general assembly shop. It is expected that this method is very useful for constructions of a digital factory, and helps to manage diverse information and re-use 3D models.

The purpose of this study is to suggest the possibility which can use as instrument of design by CAD system. And it proposes how makes 3D object model through 2D Drawings in Design process. This study has review the 'Study Drawing' in design process, and application method of CAD as the Architectural Design Integration System. The Architecture can work in ani of the traditional 2D representations as well as in 3D and immediate visual feedback of his work in isometric and perspective projrctions.
