  • The world being made by computers showing great expanses and complex and various expression provides not simply communication places but also a new civilization and a new creative world. Among these, 3D computer graphics, 3D animation and virtual reality technology wore sublimated as a new culture and a new genre of art by joining graphic design and computer engineering. In this study, I tried to make a diagnosis of possibilities, limits and differences of expression in the area of virtual reality computer graphics animation as a comparison between camera action, angle of actual still camera and film camera and virtual software for 3D computer graphics software - Maya, XSI, Softimage3D.

Unity: A Powerful Tool for 3D Computer Animation Production

  • Unity is a powerful game engine that can be used to create 2D or 3D content. The current study focuses on the use of Unity for 3D computer animations, covering the strengths, basic concepts and tools for creating and integrating 3D animations in Unity, including the use of keyframe animation, animation controllers, and blend trees. Also covering advanced topics such as skeletal animation, procedural animation and their applications in games, simulations, and other interactive media. Case studies that showcase the potential of Unity for 3D animation will be analyzed and discussed taking in the quality of visuals and the receptance by the public in general.

  • In 1970s, Computer Graphics of still and geometry changed computer Animation of image, and Computer Animation has diversely been used in movie, TV, fashion, sports, education, basic science, medical science, etc. by the development of LSI technology and the large size of computer in 1980s. Since Computer Animation was first used by movie of Futureworld in 1973, we easily experienced the essence of Computer Animation made of the Little Mermaid. Beauty and the Beast, the Lion King, Aladdin, etc. in Disney Animation and Terminator. Jurassic Park, the Mask, etc. in movie. And in other countries that have got the diversely special effect and knowhow in technology are effectively using the Computer Animation now. What situation we Korea are in now, if we compare the Computer Animation with that of other country using the progressive movie\ulcorner Although we first producted the movie title of Ticket, 10years ago, we have rarely been used it in movie, yet. Therefore, we know that it is very important for us to examine the historical and technical side for the purpose of overcoming the technological gap.

3D Visualization of Discrete Event Simulation and Its Applications in Virtual Manufacturing

  • This paper presents a new approach to create 3D visualization from discrete simulation results. This approach connects discrete event simulation directly to 3D animation with its novel methods that analyze and convert discrete simulation results into animation events to trigger 3D animation. In addition, it constructs a 3D animation framework for the visualization of discrete simulation results. This framework supports the reuse of both the existing 3D animation objects and behavior components, and allows the rapid development of new 3D animation objects by users with no special knowledge in computer graphics. This approach has been implemented with the software component technology. As an application in virtual manufacturing, visualizations of an electronics assembly factory are also provided in the paper to demonstrate the performance of this new approach.

  • This article analyzes the background representation of 3D animation and look at what its proper background expression. With the development of computer graphics technology, the background of the 3D animations can be expressed as The actual background. In contrast, "The Smurfs" which was released recently was created to take the actual background. However, 3D animation with real background is not appropriate in terms of creative expression space in the main role of the animation. In this Study, we analyze the character and background of the animation made in 3D graphics. Based on this, we propose a correct representation of 3D animation background.

  • Advances in computer technology have made it possible for educators to design and develop their own multimedia instructional materials using visuals such as animation. Although, it generally believed that the Mew attribute of computer animation facilitates student's foaming, there is still relatively little research regarding the way in which student benefit from multimedia instruction using 3-D animation. The purpose of this research was to examine and determine whether the use of 3-D computer generated images is an effective teaching device for hoping children to understand color theory, and enhancing the tractional methods. In this study, a 3-D computer generated presentation was creative and it demonstrated the mixing of primary color to obtain secondary color. Three research hypotheses were developed in this research. The first hypothesis stated that 3-D computer generated presentation will be an effective device for teaching color theory. The second was that the presentation will be eye-catching and it will hold the children's attention. The third was presentation would enhance the children's memory of color. Results of this study show that visualization technology and the use of 3-D graphics ends can be employed in the field of art education to increases a chi1d's understanding of color theory. Also, it was proved that teaching children through 3-D graphic is an highly effective teaching tool. Thus this research is a oontribution to both children's au education and the relatively new field of computer animation.

  • Recently 3D animation can produce animation dose to real picture owing to rapid technical development of hardware and software and is used as entertainment factors for movie, ads, game and digital pictures. The process of making 3D animation needs the various making techniques and expression factors unlike traditional animation. Production technique and expression factors in making 3D animation are not acted as individual factor, but they can achieve an animation with high perfection when they should be combined. Therefore this study analyzes the technical expression methods based on hardware and software for operation by computer process and the artistic expression factors based on aesthetic, figurative, design and pictorial factors and then seeks a method of making animation with technical perfection.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the problem of existing stop motion animation and to apply 3D printer technology and computer special effect technology applied with latest technology as a solution to solve this problem. For this purpose, we review the history of stop motion animation and confirm how the technology applied to stop motion animation through previous research. As a result, we have overcome limitations of the existing stop motion animation limited to the cline cloth in terms of expression by using 3D printer like recently released and . Furthermore, the natural phenomenon, which is the biggest limitation of stop motion animation, was able to produce a unique work of stop motion animation rather than computer special effect processing. Therefore, in the stop-motion animation, the acceptance of 3D printer technology and computer special effects technology has enabled unlimited imagination and original expression. Recent technology-based stop-motion animation is expected to provide the foundation for the continued development of the animation field in the future.

Nowadays 3D character animation holds a important position in the various industry fields including movie, advertisement, animation, and game. With the rapid growth of computer graphic, real time animation of complex characters as well as high quality rendering, which was impossible before, are now prevailing.   • With the success of the world's first 3D computer animated film, "Toy Story" in 1995, industrial development of 3D computer animation gained considerable momentum. Consequently, various 3D animations for TV were produced; in addition, high quality 3D computer animation games became common. To save a large amount of 3D animation production time and cost, technological development has been conducted actively, in accordance with the expansion of industrial demand in this field. Further, compared with the traditional approach of producing animations through hand-drawings, the efficiency of producing 3D computer animations is infinitely greater. In this study, an experiment and a comparative analysis of markerless motion capture systems for facial expression animation has been conducted that aims to improve the efficiency of 3D computer animation production. Faceware system, which is a product of Image Metrics, provides sophisticated production tools despite the complexity of motion capture recognition and application process. Faceshift system, which is a product of same-named Faceshift, though relatively less sophisticated, provides applications for rapid real-time motion recognition. It is hoped that the results of the comparative analysis presented in this paper become baseline data for selecting the appropriate motion capture and key frame animation method for the most efficient production of facial expression animation in accordance with production time and cost, and the degree of sophistication and media in use, when creating animation.
