Digital technology is gradually expanding its field and has a great influence on various fields of dentistry. Recently in digital dentistry, the importance of superimposing various 3-dimensional (3D) image data is emerging, in order to utilize gathered data effectively for diagnosis and prosthesis fabrication. Integrating data from facial scans, intraoral scans, and mandibular movement recordings can create a virtual patient. A virtual patient is formed by integrating digital 3D diagnostic data such as intraoral and extraoral soft tissues, residual dentition, and dynamic occlusion, and the results of prosthetic treatment can be evaluated virtually. The patients in this case report were a 37-year-old female whose chief complaint is that the appearance of the existing prosthesis was distorted and a 55-year-old female patient whose anterior prosthesis needed to be refabricated after the endodontic treatment. 3D facial scans were obtained from each patient, and the patient's mandibular movements were recorded using ARCUS Digma 2 (KaVo Dental GmbH, Biberach an der Riss, Germany). The collected data were integrated on computer-aided design (CAD) software (Exocad dental CAD; exocad GmbH, Darmstadt, Germany) and transferred to a virtual articulator to create a digital virtual patient. The temporary fixed prostheses were designed, restored, and evaluated, and it was reflected into the final restorations. With the aid of the virtual dental patient, accuracy and predictability could be increased throughout treatment, simplifying the occlusal adjustment and clinical evaluation with improved esthetic outcomes.

The purpose of this research was to examine the fitness of zirconia cores that were made by different sintering methods; generic electricity furnace and microwave furnace. Firstly, 12 cores for each group were made by using each different sintering process and attached them to a metal die with silicon. The internal and marginal gap of sintered zirconia was measured by using Skyscan 1076 micro-CT, then it was reorganized by CT-An software. To each samples, we extracted B-L image, M-D image of cutting side, and cross-sectional side of tooth long axis and calculated the mean value of marginal, axial, and occlusal gap each side. Results: 1. The mean marginal gap of sintered zirconia was $36.20{\mu}m$ for EVE, $47.67{\mu}m$ for LAV, $52.47{\mu}m$ for DEN, and $54.63{\mu}m$ for CER. 2. For the axial wall, the research showed the largest value of $63.49{\mu}m$ for EVE, but there were no statistical significance. 3. In related to the occlusal internal measurement, DEN showed the smallest value ($77.06{\mu}m$), EVE and CER showed significantly high value. From this study, it is suggested that CAD/CAM zirconia core which was made in the process of microwave sintering has clinically acceptable values in marginal and internal gap.
Traditionally, tooth restoration has been carried out by replicating teeth using plaster-based materials. However, recent technological advances have simplified the production process through the introduction of computer-aided design(CAD) systems. Nevertheless, dental restoration varies among individuals, and the skill level of dental technicians significantly influences the accuracy of the manufacturing process. To address this challenge, this paper proposes an approach to designing personalized tooth restorations using Generative Adversarial Network(GAN), a widely adopted technique in computer vision. The primary objective of this model is to create customized dental prosthesis for each patient by utilizing 3D data of the specific teeth to be treated and their corresponding opposite tooth. To achieve this, the 3D dental data is converted into a depth map format and used as input data for the GAN model. The proposed model leverages the network architecture of Pixel2Style2Pixel, which has demonstrated superior performance compared to existing models for image conversion and dental prosthesis generation. Furthermore, this approach holds promising potential for future advancements in dental and implant production.

A 3D printer was used to fabricate a micro-TAS system for biomedical applications. A polymeric medical device fabrication based on a 3D printer can be performed at atmospheric conditions. A CAD- and CAM-based system is a flexible method to design medical components, and a 3D printer is a suitable device to perform this task. In this research, a 100-micron-wide fluidic channel was fabricated with a high-aspect ratio. A cross-sectional SEM image confirmed its possible usage in a micro-reactor using 3D printers. CNC-machined samples were compared to 3D printer-fabricated samples, and the advantages and disadvantages were discussed. Based on the SEM images, the surface roughness of the 3D printed reactor was not affected by wet or dry conditions due to its manufacturing principle. An aspect ratio of 5 to 1 was achievable with 100-${\mu}$ m-wide fluid channels. No melting was found, and the shape of channels was straight enough to be used for micro reactors.

Accurate acquisition of surface geometries such as machined surfaces, biological surfaces, and deformed parts have been very important technique in scientific study and engineering, especially for system design, manufacturing and inspection. Two-camera method keeps accuracy more than double than mechanical method. In this paper, a new method is studied to acquire 3D geometric data of the small object such as a die in stone model. When the devices, cameras, laser beam and object are in a perfect plane, the calculation is measured by position error 0.025[mm] within. But this paper shows that arbitrarily positioned system can also be used to obtain 3D data. Also, this paper present a method to generate coping surface data with which CAM system can do for milling work.

We developed a model to classify the absence of cervical cancer using deep learning from the cervical image to which the histogram equalization algorithm was applied, and to compare the performance of each model. A total of 4259 images were used for this study, of which 1852 images were normal and 2407 were abnormal. And this paper applied Image Sharpening(IS), Histogram Equalization(HE), and Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization(CLAHE) to the original image. Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio(PSNR) and Structural Similarity index for Measuring image quality(SSIM) were used to assess the quality of images objectively. As a result of assessment, IS showed 81.75dB of PSNR and 0.96 of SSIM, showing the best image quality. CLAHE and HE showed the PSNR of 62.67dB and 62.60dB respectively, while SSIM of CLAHE was shown as 0.86, which is closer to 1 than HE of 0.75. Using ResNet-50 model with transfer learning, digital image-processed images are classified into normal and abnormal each. In conclusion, the classification accuracy of each model is as follows. 90.77% for IS, which shows the highest, 90.26% for CLAHE and 87.60% for HE. As this study shows, applying proper digital image processing which is for cervical images to Computer Aided Diagnosis(CAD) can help both screening and diagnosing.

Vehicle driving simulators can provide engineers with benefits on the development and modification of vehicle models. One of the most important factors to realistic simulations is the fidelity given by a motion system and a real-time visual image generation system. Virtual reality technology has been widely used to achieve high fidelity. In this paper the virtual environment including a visual system like a head-mounted display is developed for a vehicle driving simulator system by employing the virtual reality technique. virtual vehicle and environment models are constructed using the object-oriented analysis and design approach. Accordint to the object model a three dimensional graphic model is developed with CAD tools such as Rhino and Pro/E. For the real-time image generation the optimized IRIS Performer 3D graphics library is embedded with the multi-thread methodology. Compared with the single loop apprach the proposed methodology yields an acceptable image generation speed 20 frames/sec for the simulator.
