In this paper, we have proposed the hardware architecture which implements the algorithm for retaining the connectivity which prevents disconnecting in the gray-scale image thinning To perform the image thinning in a real time which find a skeleton in image, it is necessary to examine the connectivity of the skeleton in a real time. The proposed architecture finds the connectivity number in the 4-clock period. The architecture is consists of three blocks, PS(Parallel to Serial) Converter and State Generator and Ridge Checker. The PS Converter changes the 3$\times$3 gray level image to four sets of image pixels. The State Generator examine the connectivity of the central pixel by searching the data from the PS Converter. the 3$\times$3 gray level image determines. The Ridge Checker determines whether the central pixel is on the skeleton or not The proposed architecture finds the connectivity of the central pixel in a 3$\times$3 gray level image in the 4-clocks. The total circuits are verified by the design tools and operate correctly.
As the Three-level ZVS PWM DC-DC converter operates likewise full-bridge ZVS PWM DC-DC converter and the blocking voltage of each switching device is a half of the DC-link voltage, it is suitable for the high imput voltage applications. However, it has some problems as follows; The blocking voltage of each devices is unbalanced and it causes the power losses of the inner switching devices to be increased. Also, it has narrow load range so that the switching losses and the efficiency are reduced as it goes to the light load. This paper presents an nove Three-level ZVS PWM DC-DC converter, which can reduce the overvoltage of the outer switches, eliminate the unbalance of the voltage sharing between the switches at turn-off due to the stray inductances, and operate from no load to full load. The characteristics and the performances of the proposed Three-level ZVS PWM DC-DC converter are verified by simulation and experimental results
This paper proposed a snubber circuit for flying capacitor multilevel inverter and converter. The proposed snubber circuit makes use of Undeland snubber as basic snubber as basic snubber unit and has such an advantage of Undeland snubber used in the two-level inverter. Comparing conventional RCD/RLD snubber for multilevel in verter and converter the proposed snubber keeps such a good features as fewer number of components improved efficiency of system due to low loss snubber and reduction of voltage stress of main switching devices due to low overvoltage. Furthermore the proposed concept of constructing a snubber circuit for flying capacitor 3-level inverter and converter can apply to any level of them. In this paper the proposed snubber applies to three-level flying capacitor inverter and demonstrates its feature by computer simulation and experimental result.
This paper presents the Efficiency Characteristic of Three-Level Converter. Three-Level DC/DC Converter Presented in this paper is used a phase shift control with a flying capacitor in the primary side to achieve ZVS for the outer switch. This converter reduces the voltage stress across the main switch to half of input voltage. This paper analyses the loss of each component and the various losses for efficiency variation. The result of the analysis are verified using 3kW prototype.

This study proposes a carrier-based pulse width modulation (PWM) method for leakage current reduction and neutral point (NP) current control in a three-phase three-level converter, which is a carrier-based PWM version of the previously proposed low-frequency common mode voltage PWM. Three groups of space vectors with the same common mode voltage are used. When the averaged NP current needs to be positive or negative, the specific groups are employed to produce low-frequency common mode voltages. The validity of the proposed PWM method is verified through experiments.

This study introduces an analysis and control method for the variation of neutral point current in a grid-tied three-level neutral point clamped (NPC) converter under various grid imbalance operating conditions. Various fault cases with unbalanced amplitude and phase are systematically categorized and described using a unified metric called the imbalance factor. The fundamental component of neutral point current is generated under grid imbalance cases. The pattern and behavior of this fundamental component of neutral point current highly depend on the imbalance factor regardless of the particular type of grid fault cases. The control scheme for regulating the negative sequential component of AC input current effectively reduces the size of the fundamental component of neutral point current under a wide range of grid imbalance cases. The control scheme will enable a grid-tied three-level NPC converter to operate reliably and stably under various types of grid faults.
This paper proposes an 18-step back-to-back (BTB) voltage source converter using four sets of 3-Level converter modules with auxiliary circuits to increase the number of steps. The proposed BTB voltage source converter has the independent control capability of active power and reactive power at the interconnected ac system. The operational feasibility of the proposed BTB converter was verified through many simulations with PSCAD/EMTDC software. The feasibility of hardware implementation was verified through experimental results with a scaled hardware prototype. The proposed BTB converter could be widely applied for interconnecting the renewable energy source to the power grid.

In this paper, a novel topology for cascade multilevel converter is introduced, which has many levels with fewer number of power electronic components. Less number of the switches leads to the reduction of size, losses, simple control strategy and high efficiency. For proposed multilevel converter, a new algorithm for determination of dc voltage source values has been recommended. The performance and operation of the proposed multilevel converter has been evaluated with the simulation results of a cascade 25-level converter.
This paper proposes a new single-phase power converter topology for changing the frequency of AC voltage. The proposed single-phase frequency converter (SFC) includes a T-type multi-level power converter (TMPC), a frequency decoupling transformer (FDT) and a digital signal processor (DSP). The TMPC can convert a 60 Hz AC voltage to a DC voltage and then convert the DC voltage to a 50 Hz AC voltage. Therefore, the output currents of the two T-type power switch arms have 50 Hz and 60 Hz components. The FDT is used to decouple the 50 Hz and 60 Hz components. The salient feature of the proposed SFC is that only one power electronic converter stage is used since the functions of the AC-DC and DC-AC power conversions are integrated into the TMPC. Therefore, the proposed SFC can simplify both the power circuit and the control circuit. In order to verify the functions of the proposed SFC, a hardware prototype is established. Experimental results verify that the performance of the proposed SFC is as expected.

This paper proposes a three-level LLC resonant converter using integrated magnetics (IM). Given that the switch voltage stress of the proposed converter is guaranteed to be half of the input voltage, the switching losses can be greatly reduced, thereby benefitting the high-frequency operation. To reduce the volume of reactive components such as transformers, high-frequency driving and planar core are applied. However, two resonant inductors and one transformer are required because of the three-level structure and the limited leakage inductance of the planar transformer for the resonant operation. Therefore, the effect of volume reduction is not very large. In order to solve these drawbacks, this paper proposes a new IM that integrates all magnetic elements used in the proposed three-level resonant converter by using the magnetizing inductor as a resonant inductor. The experimental results are presented by conducting a theoretical analysis of a prototype with 350 W to 800 kHz.
